Toxxic 0 Report post Posted August 24, 2005 Please post your nominations to any or all of the following in this post, making it clear who you are nominating for what category. There is no limit to how many people you can nominate for each, just try not to include the whole fed. The Jayson Grant Memorial Trophy - For Wrestler of the Year The Divefire Memorial Trophy - For Comeback Wrestler of the Year The Jay Dawg Improvement Award - For Most Improved Wrestler The Axis Memorial Trophy - For Most Under-appreciated Wrestler The Rane Memorial Trophy - For Most Impressive Career The Fallen Tag Team Trophy - For Tag Team of the Year The Midnight Carnival Cup - For Stable of the Year The Ace of Clubs Trophy - For Heel of the Year The William Heartford Trophy - For Rookie of the Year The Grand Slam Trophy - For Face of the Year
Toxxic 0 Report post Posted August 24, 2005 The Jayson Grant Memorial Trophy - For Wrestler of the Year Todd Cortez. Always around, always reliable. On the edge of a main-event push, been involved in angles (Martial Law/Rev-0, Landon/Megan). Some have achieved more, few have been more reliable. The Divefire Memorial Trophy - For Comeback Wrestler of the Year Ejiro and ELM. Ejiro won the World Title, ELM has slotted back in like he's never been away. The Jay Dawg Improvement Award - For Most Improved Wrestler Spike Jenkins. The Axis Memorial Trophy - For Most Under-appreciated Wrestler Todd Cortez, Spike Jenkins. The Rane Memorial Trophy - For Most Impressive Career Sacred. LONG-standing member of the fed, finally won a second World Title. And Ejiro, the dominant tag wrestler who came back to pick up the World Title for a second time with a reign only beaten by me since his previous run with the strap. The Fallen Tag Team Trophy - For Tag Team of the Year Gotta go with the record-breaking Wild & Dangerous, really. The Midnight Carnival Cup - For Stable of the Year Since i don't feel comfortable nominating my own Revolution Zero, I'll have to say Martial Law. The Ace of Clubs Trophy - For Heel of the Year Scott Pretzler. He cut a promo on Rickmen after he DIED. The William Heartford Trophy - For Rookie of the Year Scott Pretzler and Zyon. Pretzler is all kinds of awesome on a semi-regular basis and has brilliant promos. Zyon is going the right way to become a major force in the fed. The Grand Slam Trophy - For Face of the Year Landon Maddix, strange as it may seem. And Todd Cortez.
Mr. S£im Citrus 0 Report post Posted August 27, 2005 The Jayson Grant Memorial Trophy - For Wrestler of the Year Todd Cortez The Divefire Memorial Trophy - For Comeback Wrestler of the Year Ejiro Fasaki The Jay Dawg Improvement Award - For Most Improved Wrestler Jay Hawke The Axis Memorial Trophy - For Most Under-appreciated Wrestler Todd Cortez The Rane Memorial Trophy - For Most Impressive Career Sacred The Fallen Tag Team Trophy - For Tag Team of the Year Wild and Dangerous The Midnight Carnival Cup - For Stable of the Year Sorry fellas, but Martial Law was the most snakebit stable since Catch-22, and was only remarkable for the Maddix/Cortez feud. So, it's gotta be Revolution Zero. The Ace of Clubs Trophy - For Heel of the Year Toxxic The William Heartford Trophy - For Rookie of the Year Scott Pretzler The Grand Slam Trophy - For Face of the Year Wildchild
HollywoodSpikeJenkins 0 Report post Posted August 27, 2005 Really trying to put yourself over, eh, WC?
Toxxic 0 Report post Posted August 27, 2005 Tell you what, Spike - how about you put YOUR nominations up, and THEN you can shit on the people who've taken the time to actually do this, because I certainly didn't post this in order for it to become a pissing competition. Yes, I consider it a egotistical to nominate yourself. That's why I didn't do it. But then again, if you disagree with any of WC's nominations maybe you just DON'T VOTE FOR THEM. And if you nominate choices of your own, maybe that'll give people some alternatives to vote for INSTEAD of WC's nominations. Or you can hang around, gripe a bit and then whinge when he wins. Your choice.

zyon 0 Report post Posted August 27, 2005 The Jayson Grant Memorial Trophy - For Wrestler of the Year Scott Pretzler. Yeah I love the character and everything, but the guy has been in big time matches. He's consistent has been involved in good angles. Rookie or not Pretzler in my eyes has been simply awesome. The Divefire Memorial Trophy - For Comeback Wrestler of the Year ELM. For reasons already stated. The Jay Dawg Improvement Award - For Most Improved Wrestler JJ Johnson and at the risk of sounding egotistical, Zyon (Myself). The Axis Memorial Trophy - For Most Under-appreciated Wrestler JJ Johnson. Very consitent and quite the writer. He just always seemed to be floundering around, but lately with CW title win I can see him get more appreciation if he runs with it well. So far, so good. The Rane Memorial Trophy - For Most Impressive Career Toxxic. I've been here for a short time, but I was able to witness the end of Toxxic and it was great. And from scanning other things of his I'd say he's had quite the career. The Fallen Tag Team Trophy - For Tag Team of the Year Wild and Dangerous. They be breakin records, fool. The Midnight Carnival Cup - For Stable of the Year Revolution Zero. The rap was all kinds of awesome. The Ace of Clubs Trophy - For Heel of the Year Scott Pretzler and Jay Hawke. Pretzler has been praised for his dickish abilities and I think that Hawke is an underrated heel. The William Heartford Trophy - For Rookie of the Year Scott Pretzler. The Grand Slam Trophy - For Face of the Year Toxxic- Face version. I enjoyed his face character cause it seemed realistic. Toxxic wasn't just going "Hey I'm getting cheered lets be your basic baby face." No he slowly edged into the role and by the time he was full face I was cheering for him. Coffin Surfer 0 Report post Posted August 28, 2005 The Divefire Memorial Trophy - For Comeback Wrestler of the Year Danny Williams. If Elm can get nominated so can I, I think we both came back around the same time. The Axis Memorial Trophy - For Most Under-appreciated Wrestler Mak Francis. The Rane Memorial Trophy - For Most Impressive Career Mak Francis. The best writer I ever went against, the match he had with Sacred where he snaps after having his leg worked on is one of the reasons I came back. The Ace of Clubs Trophy - For Heel of the Year ELM. Yeah, he just turned but it's still one of the best progressions ever. Love the Kawadaesque, I've turned into an asshole cause I can't win character.
Mr. S£im Citrus 0 Report post Posted August 28, 2005 :: waits for someone to accuse Danny of being egotistical for nominating himself :: The Ace of Clubs Trophy - For Heel of the Year ELM. Yeah, he just turned but it's still one of the best progressions ever. Love the Kawadaesque, I've turned into an asshole cause I can't win character. Funny; when ELM and I were discussing how he should handle his heel turn, I (in my puro-ignorance) was trying to sell him on doing his turn like Backlund in '94. janusd 0 Report post Posted August 28, 2005 *accuses Danny of being egotistical for nominating himself just for WC's sake* The Jayson Grant Memorial Trophy - For Wrestler of the Year Hmm. Landon, because of his slowly boiling feud ever since Todd started noticing Martial Law was all about Maddix.. The Divefire Memorial Trophy - For Comeback Wrestler of the Year ELM, just for the way he's been handling his character so far. The Jay Dawg Improvement Award - For Most Improved Wrestler Spike "I Was The Perennial Jobber Of The SJL" Jenkins. Could we see a World Title in his future? The Axis Memorial Trophy - For Most Under-appreciated Wrestler Also Spike Jenkins. From perennial jobber to where he is now takes work no one seemed to notice. The Rane Memorial Trophy - For Most Impressive Career Dodging this one. The Fallen Tag Team Trophy - For Tag Team of the Year Anyone that wasn't W&D. Rev-Zero incarnations, I'm looking at you. The Midnight Carnival Cup - For Stable of the Year Heels > Faces. Therefore, Revolution Zero. The Ace of Clubs Trophy - For Heel of the Year The just turned ELM really tickles my fancy. Man, what an -asshole-. I'll go with the love for Pretzler too though, so both. The William Heartford Trophy - For Rookie of the Year I -like- Zyon. The Grand Slam Trophy - For Face of the Year Todd Cortezzle.

Chuck Woolery 0 Report post Posted August 28, 2005 The Jayson Grant Memorial Trophy - For Wrestler of the Year Cortez would be my pick if he'd won the World title late last year, easy. As he didn't I'm forced to look elsewhere... and Wildchild, whether it be breaking records or helping elevate a division or, now, chasing Johnny, has been doing something relevant for damn near the whole year. I'll nominate him. The Divefire Memorial Trophy - For Comeback Wrestler of the Year Ejiro came back with a hot storyline, it got hotter, he won the World title and became one of the guys that I marked out reading, and easily one of the most fun to book. I know he's already been nominated, but I'll throw some support his way. The Jay Dawg Improvement Award - For Most Improved Wrestler Honestly... not too much has changed from Genesis until now. I'll throw Zyon and Hawke's names out there, because they've probably improved the most, but really... not too much has changed. The Axis Memorial Trophy - For Most Under-appreciated Wrestler Jay Hawke will always give you a good match, and when called upon can give you a solid promo, too. The Rane Memorial Trophy - For Most Impressive Career Me. I didn't do shit for five years. That takes talent. The Fallen Tag Team Trophy - For Tag Team of the Year eh. W&D The Midnight Carnival Cup - For Stable of the Year Rev-0 The Ace of Clubs Trophy - For Heel of the Year Pretzler (this is getting redundant) The William Heartford Trophy - For Rookie of the Year For all the impressing Zyon, Hawke, and JJ Johnson have done... this award is Pretzler's, too. The Grand Slam Trophy - For Face of the Year I'll second Cortez, but I'm going to have to think this one over before voting.
Angel_Grace_Blue 0 Report post Posted August 29, 2005 I might do a full set of nominations later, but I should get considered for most impressive career. I mean, who else has came up short for the world title on about three different occassions, then sporadically showed for a few weeks after, left for weeks/months/years only to return as a new character to begin the cycle anew? Shit, I should get my own seperate award for that.

Bruce Blank 0 Report post Posted August 30, 2005 These are just nominations right? 1 nomination and you're in the vote is later? I'm too new to actually nominate anyone for the last year - but I am reading up on stuff so I will pitch in and vote when the time comes.
