OAO SmackDown! Thread

Recommended Posts

This was like 2 1/2 months ago. Cornette was fired.  Naturally they selected Cornette's nemesis to take over and because they needed Heyman to do something for his contract.

Oh I know Cornette was fired and all of that stupidity that took place. I just stopped reading about everything after a while and totally missed the report that Heyman took over.

Thanks for the update.

the rumor WWE has been trying to hide about a certain return?

"Well, Here Comes The ______"?

Ax and here comes the Smasher?

Not only that, but OVW has been at it's best it has ever been since Heyman took over. No great wrestling but the storylines have been really well done and characters are really working.

I-I can't believe I'm going to say this, but I actually really enjoyed SmackDown tonight. Could things on this dud of a show actually be picking up now?

Really enjoyed that smackdown. Had some decent wrestling, segments, a good debut. Can't wait till Burchill/Regal are on too.

Tonight's Smackdown was a nice change from most of the shitty Smackdowns that I've seen in the past month or so.

Although I still wonder if the fans are going to buy Eddie Guerrero, who lost to Mysterio every time they wrestled each other, going for the World Heavyweight title later on?

All we need is Rollerjam on after Smackdown on Friday night. I think they should have desperately tried to get Cyrus for this angle. "Excuse me!!!"

All I ask is that if Lesnar does return on this show that he flat out not cost Batista the title against JBL. Next week is a lame duck show but after that I want them to go in some sort of different direction...anything please.

Best Smackdown in a while, with a solid main event.

I'm trying to figure out what they're doing with Christian. It looked like he was maybe turning face throughout the night, but then he leaves Booker behind to job to a double back suplex.

Benoit's coffee break was gold, and speaking of gold... Mr. KENNEDY... Kennedy. It was the first time I've ever seen him, so I knew absolutely nothing about him. The ring announcement was entertaining, but as soon as he screamed at the fans to move so he could throw Funaki into the railing, only to throw him in the ring, I officially started to like the guy, just like Tazz. The finisher was amazing, and if he keeps it up, it'd be the most unique new finisher in WWE since probably the F5.

I really liked the six-man tonight. I don't know why, it was just cool to watch. It was decent, the Benoit segment was funny and this angle with UPN could be interesting. If they had a stable, who be in it?

I couldn't help but think Mr. Kennedy could be a great Chief of Staff once JBL finally fires Jordan for being inept. Anyone else think that in the SS rematch 2 weeks from now that's what will happen? As in OJ does a fucked up run in and costs JBL the match, and that's the final straw.

I've seen Ken Anderson/Kennedy on OVW and he did most of this same act, right down to the hilarious double mention of names ("Puder...Puder"). The false toss into the crowd was a new one I have to admit, and his finisher was great.

I enjoyed Hardcore Holly vs. Randy Orton much more than I did Orton vs. Benoit from last week. No idea why, I normally detest Bob Holly.

I'm happy to see others marking for the guy. I was worried I'd be all alone.

You are not alone Downhome............ Downhome.

I officially mark for KENNEDY~!

I'd never seen the guy before, but with the announcing, the 'fake throw' into the crowd, and that unique finisher, I'm really liking the guy.

The "Network Representative" was "Big League" Brian Black, which I think was mentioned in the recent news and notes thread. He is out of Portland, ME and got his start in EWA as their Commissioner/Mouthpiece. He's actually really decent on the stick if given the opportunity, although I feel this will fall to the wayside like Cyrus or The RTC.

Last I heard he was assigned to Deep South after signing his WWE Developmental contract, although I haven't heard much out of that territory since it opened.

Now all I need is for Kenn Doane to get called up and I'll have all my New England boys working in The E.

Oh and since this is the Smackdown! thread I'll add that it was a very focused show for once, which made it alot easier to sit through.

Seconded, motioned and carried.

The winner: Kennedyyyy............................

also might I add that someone on the thread about Burchill said they might not let him do his Rolling Samoan Crash- SD just had one done off the 2nd turnbuckle. It was done by............................

KENNEDY!

P.S. Benoit's coffee promo was liquid GOLD,Jerry GOLD!

P.P.S Am I the only one who thought that if he actually threw Funaki into the crowd they werent going to move OR did those in the first few rows know he wouldn't do it?

Oh my god I just saw Ken Kennedy's debut on SD! and he's GOLD, GOLD I say. But he shouldn't get too goofy because that way they won't take em serious after a while. So far he's great in the ring, his finisher is VERY impressive, the crowd even applauded that. I wonder what else he has to offer to us. I think I heard somewhere Vince really likes this guy and I do as well so I hope he gets a big push because I see him getting on top. But I wonder if he'll announce his name every time because that might get old and it takes up a lot of time as well.

KENNEDY......kennedy....
