Golgo 13 Posted September 6, 2005 Report Posted September 6, 2005 I think they could be the most solid "real" tag team that we've had in quite some time. It's too bad that they can't just let them be a team, and they are having them say what they do in their promos. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> C'mon. When was the last time anyone, let alone a tag team, had such build-up with vignettes and a chance to show off their characters before a TV debut. It's better than just throwing them on TV blind (like the Heart Throbs). Aside from the outlandish Murdoch with the Deliverance hick stereotype stuff, we got what they were really about, so the vignettes did their job. More debutees desperately need such treatment, as exaggerated as it is, because what WWE does otherwise usually doesn't cut it.
Silence Posted September 6, 2005 Report Posted September 6, 2005 Snitsky Viscera Tomko Jillian Hall Dominic Diva Search Heidenreich Animal The Hassan contraversy Orlando Jordan Chris Master's push Great American Bash No Way Out <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Some more things to add to the list... -Paul London's "Waaahhh! I've been screwed again!" angle and wearing Pac-Man trunks. -Shelton Benjamin 2005: Jobbing so badly that you might as well call him the black Jericho. -Kerwin White (debatable for a few people, but I still think racist characters suck, especially ones given to wrestlers who have went from suddenly being Mexican to being "white" on TV) -Rob Conway's Leopard skin-wearing Buff-lite character. -Handshakes galore with Michaels/Hogan, and Vince/Matt Hardy. -Batista/JBL matches. -"UPN Network Executive", a rip-off of Cyrus from ECW with "The Network". All this angle needs now is a wrestler with bleach blonde long hair, a black beard, and a tendency to blade every match being one of the "UPN Network" members. -PMS 2.0 with Torrie and Candice.
Guest *KNK* Posted September 6, 2005 Report Posted September 6, 2005 Should I be surprised at the near complete lack of reaction that Masters got? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> You must understand, they are simply in awe. In Awe of The Masterpiece and his incredible physique.
AndrewTS Posted September 6, 2005 Report Posted September 6, 2005 Murdoch looks like the illegitimate offspring of Dusty Rhodes and a loaf of bread. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Now I'm picturing that scene from American Pie, but with Dusty in the Eugene Levy role, and a teenage Dustin caught in the act.
MarvinisaLunatic Posted September 6, 2005 Report Posted September 6, 2005 Well..this certainly should be at least the most interesting thing of the night..to see how HBK gets out of the Masterlock without breaking it. I figure he prayed to god to ask god to strike Masters with a case of the 5 second peralyisis.. and then Masters can go..Unfair, GOD interfered! I wanna have this match in a way where god can't interfere! I want this match..HELL IN A CELL! then..Id go blow my brains out at the thought of Masters/HBK HIAC...
ChrisMWaters Posted September 6, 2005 Report Posted September 6, 2005 So, THIS is why there were so many matches...to make up for this non-match.
BorneAgain Posted September 6, 2005 Report Posted September 6, 2005 Should I be surprised at the near complete lack of reaction that Masters got? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> If this is the first time you've watched wrestling and see that both the full nelson and/or narcissist gimmicks never get over.
World's Worst Man Posted September 6, 2005 Report Posted September 6, 2005 I think they could be the most solid "real" tag team that we've had in quite some time. More debutees desperately need such treatment, as exaggerated as it is, because what WWE does otherwise usually doesn't cut it. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I'd say the problem is that for all the promos they did, that personality didn't come through in the match at all. Murdoch especially wasn't wrestling like a guy with his personality should. Some goof made a quip about it being good that they aren't Stan Hansen clones. Being a Stan Hansen clone would actually make sense given the characters they portrayed in the promos, rather than them wrestling like every other WWE wrestler on the roster. Murdoch should be yelling around at the ref, do some scrappy brawling with the opponents, while Cade plays the smooth guy who ends up looking like a clown.
MarvinisaLunatic Posted September 6, 2005 Report Posted September 6, 2005 well this has been..almost a match..
ChrisMWaters Posted September 6, 2005 Report Posted September 6, 2005 So...when is Shawn gonna try a low blow?
Precious Roy Posted September 6, 2005 Report Posted September 6, 2005 Oh shit, Michaels just broke it by accident and they're going to ignore it, I knew something screwy would happen... and now it's barely even a full nelson, this is absolutely killing the hold....
Guest *KNK* Posted September 6, 2005 Report Posted September 6, 2005 About time someone tried the kick.
Anakin Flair Posted September 6, 2005 Report Posted September 6, 2005 Finally! Someone FINALLY used the mule kick!
MarvinisaLunatic Posted September 6, 2005 Report Posted September 6, 2005 well, thats about it..the Masterlock is officially done..even if he... hmm.. well there you go..Masters breaks it..
ChrisMWaters Posted September 6, 2005 Report Posted September 6, 2005 So...does that count as a break or...?
razazteca Posted September 6, 2005 Report Posted September 6, 2005 So, THIS is why there were so many matches...to make up for this non-match. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Heat got cancelled?
strummer Posted September 6, 2005 Report Posted September 6, 2005 LOL Malenko acting scared of Masters
Hunter's Torn Quad Posted September 6, 2005 Report Posted September 6, 2005 Even after all that, Masters still gets only lukewarm heat at best.
Gert T Posted September 6, 2005 Report Posted September 6, 2005 Shawn Michaels has to forgive Masters JR, Jesus would.
CBright7831 Posted September 6, 2005 Report Posted September 6, 2005 MALENKO ON TV! <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Heh, I just realized that if you take the W out of your username and add a space and another S, you get Chris Masters. I'm CBright7831, and this is my pointless post of the day.
Open the Muggy Gate Posted September 6, 2005 Report Posted September 6, 2005 I don't think it counted as a break. Masters tossed him down then nailed him. That segment did show the world Chris Masters doesn't even have a set.
Hunter's Torn Quad Posted September 6, 2005 Report Posted September 6, 2005 It was ignored for obvious reasons, but the Masterlock was actually broken when Shawn rammed Masters face into the turnbuckle. The hold was clearly broken.
Guest *KNK* Posted September 6, 2005 Report Posted September 6, 2005 It was ignored for obvious reasons, but the Masterlock was actually broken when Shawn rammed Masters face into the turnbuckle. The hold was clearly broken. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Yes but I think most of us here weren't even watching it.
cabbageboy Posted September 6, 2005 Report Posted September 6, 2005 The Chris Masters crap is going to be over soon guys, believe me. He's going to job out to Shawn at the PPV and that'll be that. That said, there's something fairly disgusting about the way that went down tonight. Mind you, I think Masters sucks ass but there is no way friggin Michaels should be the guy to break an invincible power submission hold. He's simply not big or powerful enough to get out of a full nelson. The only good way to break the hold is to do a Bulldog/Warlord type deal where the Bulldog flat out powered his way out of the full nelson.
EricMM Posted September 6, 2005 Report Posted September 6, 2005 I hated RAW tonight. I thought that the Cade and (especially) Murdoch team looked really lost out there. Maybe it's all the lights, but I don't care how good they were in OVW, those irish whips were UGLY. Super double ditto that womens match. Someone tell these people that speed is a large part of what makes a wrestling match exciting. Shawn broke the masterlock by cheating, and JR gets all upset at Masters. Guess what, if some asshole kicked me in the balls, a steel chair would be the least of his problems. And I plain just don't like Cena. As far as I'm concerned, TNA can't get a deal quickly enough.
