Ace309 0 Report post Posted September 8, 2005 Overall, a very good show, although I was upset by one particular no-show victory and there are issues with the main event that really need to be settled in order for me to figure out what if anything I was not informed of and what if any presumptions the losing team was working under. Unfortunately, Mike appears to have been the point man on that and he's conspicuously absent. (I had to mark the TKO-Ward/Blank match myself.) Perhaps Toxxic's advice about removing wine from carpeting wasn't correct after all.

Toshiaki Koala 0 Report post Posted September 9, 2005 I was upset by one particular no-show victory<{POST_SNAPBACK}> Not mine, I hope. The match had to be short so Skull would have enough wind to put me out of action with the beatdown.
jwpeer 0 Report post Posted September 9, 2005 REALLY sorry about the horrendous extra space in the Ward/Blank match, that was my fault there. It looks terrible and I really wish I'd fixed that.
zyon 0 Report post Posted September 9, 2005 Why do I feel like a football player on a team that just called an audible, but didn't hear it? Anyway good lockdown. I'd like to personally think Hawke for writing that segment which I had no part in and that he's lead this feud along nicely. I'll probably get a more in depth review later after I figure something out.
muzz 0 Report post Posted September 9, 2005 Really looking forward to Spike/Flesher, that should be off the chain, as my idol Tazz says. 'Grats to Ward and Blank as well.
Sly 0 Report post Posted September 9, 2005 Sorry for the no-showing and such, but hey... I am me, after all. It looks like it forwarded a story that I had no idea was even going on, anyways...

JHawk 0 Report post Posted September 9, 2005 Um...I've only glanced through the show so far but it seemed like the main event put the challengers over pretty well, even in defeat. So...um...yeah, I think I missed something too.
Bruce Blank 0 Report post Posted September 9, 2005 didn't Ace say that he had not actually heard anything from Mike and had to mark the Ward/Bruce/TKO match himself? Not that I know what's going on but if it's a beef about how your match Vs their match was judged it'd be better off in a PM or 10? unless that's totally not what you're talking about and... erm... Oh look a kitty *runs off*
HollywoodSpikeJenkins 0 Report post Posted September 9, 2005 Bottom line, (7:11am) (@crusen) what actually happened? (7:12am) (@Zed) Johnny and Wildchild were going to drop the tag straps to Spike and Zyon. (7:12am) (@Zed) They called an audible and decided not to at the last minute. Toxxic 0 Report post Posted September 9, 2005 Never, EVER trust ANYONE to job to you. In fact, never trust anyone to do anything. Always do it yourself just in case. Unless you have Muzz as tag team partner. He rocks as a tag partner.
HollywoodSpikeJenkins 0 Report post Posted September 9, 2005 Considering I had the word of the head booker and I never heard anything from Johnny or WC about writing a competitive match, I didn't think I had anything to worry about. Yeah, so thanks, Toxx.
Ace309 0 Report post Posted September 9, 2005 For the record, I don't think the fed is or should be that cutthroat - and if we get to that point, I'll be the first to step off the train.
Angel_Grace_Blue 0 Report post Posted September 9, 2005 Screw the SWF! I'll make my own wrestling federation. With blackjack, and hookers! In fact, forget the wrestling federation.
Bruce Blank 0 Report post Posted September 9, 2005 where are those hookers you talk off? and if that really is what happened then it's really, REALLY sad (not the new federation with hookers - the other thing, you know the one)
Sly 0 Report post Posted September 10, 2005 That blows, either way. Spike for blowing up like... well... something that blows up, and W&D for switching up plans just to be teh jerkoffs.
JJ Johnson 0 Report post Posted September 10, 2005 something that blows up Batista, after 30 seconds of energy-sapping striding at a leisurely pace to the ring. Did I get it right?
zyon 0 Report post Posted September 10, 2005 Here we go. I'll actually comment on the show while displaying my agitation at the main event. MULTI TASKING IS SOOOO COOL! Anyway... Bruce Blank segment guest starring JJ Johnson? Fun little segment here. Great stuff to set up a possible match at Genesis and Bruce is a pretty funny guy. But I marked when JJ Johnson laid him out. All that was missing was Chris Tucker walking up and screaming You got knocked da fuck out. Man on a mission starring Spike Jenkins. I fall in love with this angle more and more. I love how Spike in all his hatred for CC (mostly Flesher, but still) finds himself a pawn in the game all for a World Title shot and stuff. The Genesis match should be fantastic. Flesher segment Straight to the point segment. Building to Flesher and Jenkins. Crimson Skull vs. Scott Pretzler OMG a Ghost Machine reference. Pretzler controls with his Boring offense until Heff makes his presence known. And then Skull loses by spraying himself with an aerosol can...fantastic. But don't worry Skull goes from Crimson to Incredible and smashes Pretzler to pieces. Short match with some interesting developments. Cucaracha Internacional????? Maddix and his crew got off to a tough start so the leader had to step in and give out an ole' fashioned pep talk. Pretty good segment and silent killer JJ is cool and Jay Hawke questioning the name is great. TKO vs. Ward and Danny Fucking Williams...or not. Awesome mystery partner....or not. Well still cool partner, but its the sneak Bruce Blank. Nice little tag match, nothing spectacular, but it was solid. Ending was cool and Bruce's heel stuff was great. Hawke takes jobbers to school only to have himself suspened. Like I said great segment from Hawke furthering the Hawke/Zyon feud. Hawke's arrogance caught up with him and Zyon's underdog surprise got him the three in the "workout" extravaganza. Smarkdown and Genesis is left. Maddix vs. Walters Good match that put Walters over and Maddix's fun yet heel, determined character over. Match starts with Maddix being Karma handled, until an eye rake. The big man/little man dynamic was used brilliantly here. The whole match Maddix worked his ass off to get Walters down, and that showed at the end. Wildchild segment. Fuck Wildchild...just kidding. I'll get to my views on that later. The segment put over why WC is blind to Johnny's actions. The no mention of their opponents or tag titles is quirky, but from my understanding as of late thats W&D... And now we have Montreal. Ok my view on the match first. Great match. From my scanning it looked like Spike and Zyon were put over better this time around. But I must ask BEAUTY AND THE BEAST! Ok thats just really stupid. I got a chuckle out of it in card description, but in the results, seriously c'mon. Anyway one Pete quote got me "The challengers are putting up a better fight that they did last week." Ouch. We are doing better against two people than one. I don't have to explain the flaw do I? But I do agree we were written in a better light and the ending put us over since W&D had to win with help. Now for the other stuff. Ok it was a great match and yes Spike and I were outwritten. I sent my match late to Spike and he was busy, I'll take quite a bit of the responsibility for that since time hasn't been kind to me when it comes to the SWF, lately. BUT Spike (and myself, got the exact same PM that was sent to Spike) got two PM's from Mike saying W&D drop the title. Now after havig Spike explain a few things to me Spike got screwed over big time by these happenings. Also a last minute audible should be frowned upon. I see Toxx's point, but Spike is right. We were told we were going to have the belts dropped to us and that is what should be expected. The thing that gets me is the audible simply cause I'm sure W&D didn't take into consideration what COULD have been in planning. Who's to say me and Spike didn't start planning new things with our tag team, or how the tag title could effect Spike/Flesher's feud. No when it came down to it all that mattered was W&D and that isn't right. Yes the match was good and we were outwritten, but saying one thing, that one thing that messes with angles (Spike's in particular) and that one thing that could set in motion different plans and angles, but then for people (mainly W&D, maybe Mike was in on it) to audible without even telling their opponents is for lack of a better term, stupid. Realize I'm a bit more understanding than Spike only because I didn't lose as much as he did because of the audible, and that I think that still being kinda new I shouldn't being making enemies by saying Fuck certain people. But I am a bit ticked at what happened, and I'm sure someone (maybe Muzz, don't know him well enough but by his posts) may jump in and say its just a game (in his own little way of course). And I agree, its like playing Halo and having someone look at your screen the whole time or playing sports and have someone foul you constantly and it doesn't get called because the opponents paid the ref off. Basically this is fun, but I think competition, programs, putting people over, etc. adds to SWF's F.U.N and W&D simply broke and agreement, which isn't cool. And that not trying to be funny by quoting Carlito thats how I feel about the situation. Oh well....
Ace309 0 Report post Posted September 10, 2005 For the record, my earlier comment was in reference to Toxxic's comment about never trusting anyone and not the specific situation, which I've not been able to reconstruct to my satisfaction.
King Cucaracha 0 Report post Posted September 12, 2005 What I heard from Wildchild is that they (he and Johnny) weren't going to job on protest, because either Spike only got the shot by threatening to leave the fed if he didn't get it or Spike was going to leave if he didn't win. Or, something along those lines. I can probably dig up the PM if it really helps anybody.
Bruce Blank 0 Report post Posted September 12, 2005 It's SWF's very own version of "he said, she said" isn't it? maybe the involved parties and someone levelheaded from the CC should get together and sort it in private instead of dragging it out here? just think that if anything is ever going to be resolved guys need to talk. HollywoodSpikeJenkins 0 Report post Posted September 12, 2005 What I heard from Wildchild is that they (he and Johnny) weren't going to job on protest, because either Spike only got the shot by threatening to leave the fed if he didn't get it or Spike was going to leave if he didn't win. Or, something along those lines. I can probably dig up the PM if it really helps anybody. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Me and Zyon only got the title shot because we were a makeshift team that went over Hawke and Pretzler, and I decided to use our team to help Spike/CC and give Zyon a push. Yeah, I'm the bad guy here. BTW, I would like to see that PM.
Ace309 0 Report post Posted September 12, 2005 Spike and Zyon got their shot because they were a reasonably successful throwtogether with pretty good chemistry. I mean, Griffin and Manson certainly didn't hold us up for a title shot, but they were getting a push. Jesus, people, if any of you actually believe that Spike (or anyone) is capable of holding CC up for title shots, or has the desire to, please think about the actual issues involved with that, and if you think that I'm going to accede to demands like that I'd like to know it. I didn't autojob W&D because they wrote the better match here - I think that, if not my career as a writer, marker and booker here, should vouch for my integrity. I'm not going to job you for questioning my integrity (and I'm willing to go out of my way to avoid even the appearance of impropriety here), I'd just like to know of and defend such questions if they exist.
