Mussina pitched a very good game today and would have been better without the two errors. Indians don't look like they're about to give up their lead, so we're looking at a 1 1/2 game difference in the AL Central, people. This is incredible. Even if the White Sox blow the lead they are still 2 games up on the Yankees and 3 games up on the Red Sox. What helps either the White Sox and the Indians since they both have better records than the Yankee and the Red Sox is that the Yankees and the Red Sox spend the final weekend playing eachother. Sure, Cleveland might catch them for the division, but there's no way they're going to slip below both Boston and New York. Now if you want a collapse, I think the Red Sox would be much more appropriate. Not only did they lose a large divisional lead, but they have no wild card to fall back on either. BTW- after the Pats won their first Super Bowl, they didnt make the playoffs, then went on to win two more. And legendarily fun? Fun for you, maybe, but it's certainly not legendary- the lead was never more then 5 games I think. I wouldn't mind seeing a fresh playoff picture, though- after the past decade, Boston v. I dont want to hear about them having the wild card as a crutch. This team lead their fucking division by 15 games on August 1st dont compare them to a team who only had a 5 game lead.
