Not that there is any talk about it at all, but if they ever decided to do an Arrested Development movie, the ending of the last show (season or series finale, nothing will be official until June/July) set it up perfectly.

I couldn't be more pissed about all of this, I just can't believe that it is more than likely over. It is, without a doubt, my favorite TV show of all time.

I will say one thing though. Now that AD is more than likely gone, my new favorite thirty minute type show is now officially The Office.

Downhome's going to have to let us know where he keeps his stash of AD gifs.

Michael: So, what's going on with the fundraiser?

George Sr.: Well, I don't think the Home Builders Organization is gonna be supporting us.

Michael: Yeah, the HBO's not gonna want us. What do we do now?

George Sr.: Well, I think it's "Show Time." I think we have to have a show during dinner.

I just downloaded the third season and I've queued up the other ones.

I might have watched this show once or twice on TV, maybe.

I'm sorry. I'm so so sorry.

Do not doubt the DVD's will be mine sooner or later.

I went to Target today to pick up both that and 24, but it was marked up to normal, as is the website. I need an ad or something, because I can't find it.

Showtime to pick up Arrested Development?

Cable network reportedly picks up 26 episodes, but nets are mum on the truth.

Will the Showtime go on?

The New York Post's Page Six gossip column reports that cable network Showtime has picked up 26 episodes of the canceled cult sitcom Arrested Development. The show was axed by Fox after three seasons of Emmy-winning hilarity due to perennially low ratings. Neither network had anything to say officially.

In January, Showtime president Peter Greenblat told reporters at the Television Critics Association press tour that his network was seriously considering picking up the show.

"I always thought it was probably a better fit on a cable network than on a broadcast network," Greenblatt said. "And you know, in fact, I think it really does fit in with a lot of the things that we're doing."

The deal was contingent upon the involvement of show creator Mitchell Hurwitz--at the time, he was having reservations about continuing on with the show after three years of stressful dealings with Fox.

"I think he's the genius behind it, and he hasn't yet come to that decision to continue the show," Greenblatt said of Hurwitz.

Arrested Development averaged around 4 million viewers a week in it's third and final season, paltry by broadcast TV standards but huge for a cable network like Showtime. In contrast, Weeds, a popular Showtimes series, averages less than 500,000 viewers a week. Even king of the cable hill HBO commands only a few million viewers per week for its non-Sopranos shows--the mafia-inspired drama, which returns March 16, earns between 10 and 11 million viewers a week.

Please God please. I don't care about it going out on top. On its weakest day Arrested Development is still better than just about every single TV show out there.

They usually have the ad at the front of the store, if not as a handout, its on a wall by customer service.

The guy on the site treble linked had a point:

What really strikes me as most unfortunate about the show's premature cancellation would have to be the writer's incapability to explore every inter-personal relationship between the nine principal characters. Much time was dedicated to fleshing out the relationship Michael maintained with the rest of his family, but it wasn't until the show's twilight episodes where we got to see any real development in the bond between characters with no real common ties that bind them. Holding off on pairing up two people for the sake of a throwaway joke showed incredible foresight on behalf of the writing team, but since we never got to see any dynamic form between characters like Buster & Maeby, for example, there left many open-ended questions and possibilities to be explored.

Tobias and Lucille turned out to be interesting, when it turned out she'd been calling him a Nellie

My favorite Tobias/Lucille moment (of the few) is from the Maggie episodes in season 2.

Tobias goes on a spiel about how Lucille is in denial about Buster going into the army.

Lucille: "You're a worse psychiatrist than you are a son-in-law and you will never get work as an actor because you have no talent."

the best part is when Tobias is like, right after above line,

"Well, if she's not going to say anything, I certainly can't help her"

Some of my favorite quotes in that show were from the underutilized Buster,

from when he thought he was in mexico,

to when, right after losing his hand, he snaps at michael at the most odd time,

or fighting Gob over Lucille 2

I saw David Cross last week when I went to see Lollilove. Didn't say anything to him though.

I don't think the commentares are that great. There's too many people talking and you never really learn anything about the show.

And I think it's great Gob got an Emmy nomination. He deserves to win.

2 days of my life I remember laughing the most in my life...

1) That day I saw "MST3K: the Movie" for the first time (at the theater!), and then rented Mallrats for the first time.

2) Ten years later when I watched the final 2 hour block of "Arrested Development".

Ah, memories.
