NFL Week 4- Sept. 26-0ct.2

Recommended Posts

Anyone wanna take a shot at predicting what the Colts do to the Niners next week? Name the score. I'll say 42-7.

You know what would be the worst scenario for the Colts? To finally get past the Pats in the playoffs and then lose to someone else (Steelers, Bengals).

I'll imagine Indy actually take it easy on SF and only win 27-10.

I can't see Cincy beating Indy right now.

In about a month or so, BL. Which is precisely I think how long it'll take for my optimism as a Packer fan to finally cease and desist when they're 0-7, 0-8 so it works out nicely as I can then transition to being an optimistic Laker fan again.

And wow, it's really quite shocking to see just how bad SF is. Kind of disheartening too, of all the teams that it could happen to, it's a shame it had to be them.

I think the suck from the NFC East the last several years sans the Eagles has transferred to the NFC North. NFC West isn't much better except Seattle is better than their 2-2 record indicates.

I'm not a Packers fan at all, but I do like Brett Favre and it's a shame that a future HOFer like him is going to end his career on such a crummy note...but at least he didn't punk out and leave the team to go rot on the bench of some other team...

as a Bills fan, all I can say is....when does the NBA start up?

Don't you mean hockey? Cause I'm pretty sure Buffalo doesn't have an NBA team.

Or do they? God knows, maybe you got the New Orleans Hornets.

exactly, that was my problem with NBA 2K5, I couldn't get anyone to take Allan Houston and his god awful 30+ million dollar contract, therefore I couldn;t sign my draft picks, sign good coaches, ANYTHING...

Seriously, who the fuck gives Allan Houston 30 million dollars?

That's like giving Manute Bol a 20 million dollar deal.

Oh yeah, and my team got slammed in NFL action this week. Not the end of my world.

back on topic, who is your team?

Being from Delaware, I had to make a choice in 1990 when I was 10. I could either go with one of the local teams (Philly or Washington) or go elsewhere. Since Washington was good in the 90's and I never believed in that band wagon bs even at that age, I went with the worst team I could find.

Enter Marc Wilson and the 1990 New England Patriots. Christ, they were bad. They were horrible in fact. And yet, they became my team. This weekend they got rolled but I wasn't really shocked by it. Far as I'm concerned, two in a row is MORE than enough for me.

Three in a row was never as possiblity in my mind.

He also acknowledged that soccer is the undisputed king of Mexican sports, as evidenced Sunday night when the loudest cheer came when the scoreboard flashed Mexico's under-17 national team's 3-0 victory over Brazil to capture the world championship in Lima, Peru.

Tagliabue said the roar from the crowd had to leave U.S. television viewers scratching their heads and wondering if the Mexicans in the stands understood what was happening on the field because "it came at a time when the Arizona quarterback threw one of the least artistic passes in the history of the National Football League."

I sincerely believe that the NFC North is a lot better than its teams' records indicate. Maybe Minnesota was overrated, Chicago was definitely underrated, and Green Bay has just been polain disappointing, but outside of the egg the defense laid in the Detroit game, Green Bay has lost their last two games by a combined total of 3 points, to a shitty Browns team and a really good Bucs team. Not to mention they were in it in the Lions game till the late TD catch by the Lions. Shitty officiating hasn't helped either (what the fuck was that shit in the Bucs game where Brian Griese FUMBLED it, they ruled it incomplete, Sherman challenged it, the call was overturned and ruled a fumble, which was recovered by the Packers.. then the Bucs kept the ball?!?! Not to mention some other horrendously bad ones they've called in the other two games), they're better than the 0-3 record indicates, and probably better than the 0-4 they might be after tonight, depending on how close they play Carolina or not. Whether or not they play them close is indicative of how good they are.

Minnesota's o-line has just been awful, but they'll probably get their shit together after firing Tice somewhere down the line this season and Kyle Orton's only going to get better with Chicago. The only team I'm confused about is Detroit, but I guess that just about proves that Harrington really isn't good enough. They've given the kid more than enough time and confidence for him to show up and play, and his play at the end of the Tampa Bay game was pitiful, when they had a chance to win. I believe their 1-3 record indicates jsut about where they should be, whereas Chicago and Green Bay could both just as easily be undefeated (especially Green Bay if you consider that the Bears didn't have much of a chance against the Bengals).

So, I'm not writing them off JUST yet, but getting pretty close to it. But the NFC North being the worst division in the NFL? Right now, record-wise, it would seem that way, but I still think that the AFC West is much more pathetic. Amazing that Seattle isn't running away with that division already.

Let's see, not only a couple minutes and the O-Line sucks again. Favre fumbles, andf now it's 7-0 Panthers. Fuck, I sat through worse so I'm gonna be fan till I die.

Chill. We're back after a nice drive. 7-7.

This is probably going to be a pretty good game, you can feel it right now.

Yeah but the 49ers were banged up going into that game.

They lost two guys in the secondary and one of their starting offensive linemen.

A big problem with this team is the offense not being able to sustain drives and keep the offense off of the field for very long.

As you could see last night, the 49ers defense was on the field for quite a while.

This will continue to be a problem for the 49ers as long as the offense continues to pile up the 3 and outs.

This is getting ridiculous. Green Bay just lost both their starting center and left tackle. So they're down to basically their second-string offensive line minus Mark Tauscher (who's going against Julius Peppers). Not a good sign, hopefully Flanagan and Clifton are okay...

Well then....

Make that 24-7 Carolina. Fuhgeddaboutit. Promising young receiver Terence Murphy apparently got paralyzed on a helmet-to-helmet on the very next play as well.

So the Packers offensive line can't run block, can't pass block, and is completely banged up, he has noone to throw to, and Green can't get any blocks to get anything more than 4 or 5 yards. The only bright spot is the run defense, but with how terribly the offense is playing, they're probably goin to start getting tired soon, and the pass defense is the same story as always.

0-16, here we come!
