The Ghost of bps21 0 Report post Posted July 3, 2006 You also have to remember that Sting is in the second half of his one year deal now. Joe/Sting has to happen...and it has to happen soon.
luke-o 0 Report post Posted July 3, 2006 And having it at bound for Glory would be a great oppurtunity. This would be Sting passing on the torch. Is there any word if Sting will stay after the year is up, ive kind of got used to him being there.
BUTT 0 Report post Posted July 3, 2006 DAVE NOTES: --Backstage at TNA today, they told The Naturals to cut their hair for their new role. Andy Douglas argued about it and I don't know yet how it's being rectified, but it may result in the planned push for the team being dropped. --Norman Smiley and Jerrelle Clark are appearing doing job duty --Homicide will be getting a real look in a singles facing Sonjay Dutt --Jake Roberts is there. I don't know if he's going to be used as talent or not.
Hawk 34 0 Report post Posted July 3, 2006 Why do so many people throw fits about hair cuts?
Guest wildpegasus Report post Posted July 3, 2006 Why do so many people throw fits about hair cuts? Because a haircut makes you another step closer to being a plain old everyday person. It cuts away at your charisma points. Too many haircuts is one of the problems wrestling is facing these days.
Hawk 34 0 Report post Posted July 3, 2006 Like it did with Christian? Oh wait, yeah he got more over after the hair cut. If you rely on long hair to get over, then you really didn't have all that much charisma to start with.
Guest burth179 Report post Posted July 3, 2006 I would wait a little while for Joe vs. Sting, but would rather see that... They should have Joe win the 4-way match (it established him as the #1 guy), but lose to J.J. at the next PPV by Steiner interference or something. Have Joe beat Steiner in another match to get his revenge in that feud, and have J.J lose the belt to Sting at some point. Then you can have J.J. feud with Joe for awhile to put Joe clearly over J.J., while Sting battles Christian and wins a closely contested feud. It establishes Sting as a credible champ, and then everyone gets what they want when Joe squashes J.J. in their feud.. Then build Joe vs. Sting, with Joe emerging victorious in a "classic" moment... The Decemberists 0 Report post Posted July 3, 2006 Interference or not, regardless of any future plans of later putting him over - not that Jeff has any 'rub' or whatever at all - JJ should not, under any circumstances, be the guy who finally beats Joe. Rendclaw 0 Report post Posted July 4, 2006 What he said. If the angle is that Shane Douglas is training these two personally, it would make perfect sense that they do a physical makeover as well. If it leads to you getting that much over, Andy, kwitchyerbitchin. The TNA crowd is a bit too smart for them to get over as the 21st century version of the Rock N Roll Express. Guest wildpegasus Report post Posted July 4, 2006 Like it did with Christian? Oh wait, yeah he got more over after the hair cut. If you rely on long hair to get over, then you really didn't have all that much charisma to start with. You're twisting my words some. In some cases a haircut can work but generally it's against the rule. You're statements are pretty weird too. In the first you're giving haircuts lots of credit and the second you're giving haircuts much less credit. Make up your mind. In Christian's case I don't know when he cut his hair but in his situation I can see it being a plus. I Why do you think HHH wears his hair long? Why do you think Shawn Michaels keeps his hair long? Why do you think everyone else has to keep it short? HHH's not stupid. If they were to lose their hair than they'd lose part of their presence. Yes, people would still cheer or boo but they'd lose part of the package that makes them special. Look at it this way. I'll compare it to weightlifting. You never, ever want to break a link in the weightlifting or the charisma chain because if you do than the chain breaks and the whole chain is affected. Little things all add up to make one big thing. Bret Hart for example owes a lot of his success to wearing pink and black together. It gave him instant charisma. It's the "little things" that make wrestling what it is. Bret's hair getting in his face while doing a sharpshooter which symbolised toughness and a battle etc.... And if everyone gets haircuts than how is a heel supposed to pull a face's hair? The legendary Cuban Assasin http://www.obsessedwithwrestling.com/pictu...ubanbadnews.jpg Now, try to tell me that haircuts don't help charisma.
Hawk 34 0 Report post Posted July 4, 2006 Two mid-card tag team JTTS aren't in Hunter's place. Even Shawn cut his hair, as did Jericho and Nash(for a movie, granted but he kept his hair short since) Haircuts help some people and for some people it has zero effect. It helped Christian because a hair cut was neccesary for his character but the characters that the Natural protray aren't going to be affected by new hair cuts. Nobody's career has been damaged because of a hair cut but it has helped. If you rely on the fact you have long hair to get a reaction in the wrestling business, you probably don't have much going for yourself.
GODSON 0 Report post Posted July 4, 2006 But TNA is suppose to be the alternative? Now they telling wrestlers to cut their hair for a gimmick change even though it will probably be pointless in the long run. You said a hair cut don't matter but does it really matter for them to keep their hair long? Shouldn't the most important thing is for a wrestler to feel comfortable. Andy Douglass had a past problem with TNA about a UWF show. TNA is now forcing wrestlers to work those lame shows. TNA say they one thing but act no different from WWE. Astro101 0 Report post Posted July 4, 2006 Having wrestlers get haircuts doesn't make TNA the same as the WWE. And I dunno why he's complaining about it now. It's been floating around for what, a month or so about them getting haircuts?
luke-o 0 Report post Posted July 4, 2006 Ill be really dissapointed if there push is stopped because Douglas wont get a hair cut. Now ive never been a big fan of the naturals, but its nice to have another team in there, esspcially since DiTR arent getting a push any time soon and Team 3D/James Gang are busy amnogst them selves. JustJoe2k5 0 Report post Posted July 4, 2006 I've always liked the Naturals. Probably because their team has such an old school feel to it. I like old school gimmicks, which may explain why I actually like Jeff Jarrett.
JHawk 0 Report post Posted July 4, 2006 Is the haircut necessary for the gimmick change? If it is (and from what I've seen it probably is), then get it cut. It's that simple. What, would Sgt. Slaughter have had Terry Daniels in the Cobra Corps if Daniels looked like a hippie?

What, would Sgt. Slaughter have had Terry Daniels in the Cobra Corps if Daniels looked like a hippie? Just out of curiousity, did Daniels ever have long hair? The short hair sure didn't help him when he was tagging w/ the likes of Red Tyler, Dusty Wolfe, and Jim McPhearson jobbing to every heel team on the weekend circuit

2GOLD 0 Report post Posted July 5, 2006 "Nobody's career has been damaged because of a hair cut" Ric Flair thinks you're an idiot. Molly Holly agrees. Flair just stopped looking cool, his career was damaged by him being old and just horrible in the ring. If he didn't cut his hair, it would have been falling out live on national television. And Molly was hurt by being a woman in the WWE who didn't want to parade around in a bikini.

The Ghost of bps21 0 Report post Posted July 6, 2006 Just watched the Hadcore War DVD of the TNA show in ECW arena. Damn what a great show. I may try to put a review up on it eventually...but here's some quick thoughts: 1. The crowd was (obviously) fantastic and made the even just awesome. 2. Dutt vs. Lethal was real nice...and a match they've not had before. Part of what makes all these TNA house show DVDs nice is that 2 lower X guys get 12 minutes to work with each other. 3. Spike vs. Abyss was very good. It was neat watching non-ECW guys being accepted by the crowd, since the show was loaded with former ECW stars. 4. The Joe/Daniels/Styles 3 way was off the charts. Better than their Ultimate X or their second 3 way on ppv. 5. Rhino/JJ and Petey/Lynn were pretty good. Rhino and JJ have had better matches on ppv and on that special...and Lynn/Petey never got as good as I thought it would get. 6. The main event was fun...but the only memorable stuff came from the chair throwing and the post match mic work. I've seen a few of these UWF/TNA house show DVDs and they are fun watches. This one was definitely the best I've seen. Also...Brother Ray is just so good on these house show DVDs. His work on the mic is so entertaining and you can see that no matter where they are the crowd eats up every word. You can get the DVD on highspots for 20 bucks and it is well worth it. The three way is as good as most of their better ppv matches and the atmosphere and undercard make this a must buy for anyone who enjoys TNA at all.

Timmy8271 0 Report post Posted July 7, 2006 What is the deal with Slick Johnson? Why does he have more charisma than Chris sabin, Jay Lethal, Shark boy, David Young, Elix Skipper and Sonjay dutt put together? When are we going to see So cal val put in a better role? Astro101 0 Report post Posted July 7, 2006 Probably because he's gotten the opportunity to actually talk on tv. But I think Sonjay does have charisma in the ring just with his presence alone. Come to think of it, though, I can only remember one time when he spoke.

She's too hot not to be a valet. I have no idea who Slick Johnson is, but Shark Boy definately has charisma, as does Sonjay. Skipper and Sabin are more "Impress you in the ring" types, and I haven't seen enough of Lethal to know about him. Young never did much for me, the only thing I've heard about him is he has a nice spinebuster
