Kardo Posted October 22, 2005 Report Posted October 22, 2005 Really good stuff, Juvi pulls out some stuff that hasn't been seen in the WWE. Well worth watching, runs 12 minutes with commercials so should be uncut online. Just thought I'd give the heads up not to miss this.
cbacon Posted October 22, 2005 Report Posted October 22, 2005 Should have saved this for a PPV, or at least Smackdown
muzz Posted October 22, 2005 Report Posted October 22, 2005 Should have saved this for a PPV, or at least Smackdown <{POST_SNAPBACK}> It would have been 2 minutes on PPV or Smackdown. And probably between Holly and Heidenreich.
Guest Ransome Posted October 22, 2005 Report Posted October 22, 2005 I watched it. More good stuff, with some stiff kicks from London and a nice reverse hurricanrana thrown in there. Do the writers actually tell Cruiserweight wrestlers to tone it down on SD/PPVs, yet allow them to go all out (well, as far out as WWE-style permits) in their Velocity matches? Or is it just that they don't watch Velocity and don't care about what happens on there, assuming most of the fanbase that counts isn't watching either?
haws bah gawd Posted October 22, 2005 Report Posted October 22, 2005 Theres another way you could look at it. London knows hes pretty much screwed for the time being because he did the right thing, and stood up to Vince when he banned the SSP and 450. He may just be assuming he has nothing to lose, and it going to do his own thing in WWE. Juvi is just being Juvi. I remember a couple years back, Juvi was given a darkmatch prior to a Smackdown taping. Juvi decided he was going to work the match full-speed-ahead, and he and his opponent ended up stealing the show. This caused him to get blackballed from WWE for quite a while.
Guest Hybrid420 Posted October 22, 2005 Report Posted October 22, 2005 I enjoyed this match. I've been so sick of WWE matches. It was a breath of fresh air. Kinda made me sad though.

CanadianChick Posted October 23, 2005 Report Posted October 23, 2005 I enjoyed this and Christian/Spanky. I wish Christian would work like that all the time. I wasn't bored to tears for once.
EricMM Posted October 23, 2005 Report Posted October 23, 2005 Velocity brought the motherfucking workrate this week. It's the only fucking wrestling I caught this week and I don't regret it.
UseTheSledgehammerUh Posted October 23, 2005 Report Posted October 23, 2005 Awesome little match, Juvy's inverted headscissors/frankensteiner out of London's attempted Alabama Slam is awesome.
CheesalaIsGood Posted October 23, 2005 Report Posted October 23, 2005 Yeah great stuff this week.. Or now... erm... last week.

UseTheSledgehammerUh Posted October 24, 2005 Report Posted October 24, 2005 Boogeyman and Midgets appeared for 1 minute last week. Smackdown!'s been great, with a "what's gonna happen" main event scene with new faces emerging, a developing tag division, some Booker/Benoit US Title fun, and good shit on Velocity from the cruisers. Be fair.

And really, since when does doing a bunch of cool moves for guys willing to bump like ragdolls make anybody a good wrestler.?

And really, since when does doing a bunch of cool moves for guys willing to bump like ragdolls make anybody a good wrestler.? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> It doesnt make him a good wrestler, per se. It just shows that his offensive arsenal is broader than what WWE is leading on. The C-4 is all in the person taking the bump, and maybe a little silly. It is still a very nice visual, in the same respects as the Canadian Destroyer, and could really pop a crowd. People begged for years for WWE to allow Brock to bust out his SSP, and when he finally did, he fucked it up. So, I can understand WWE perhaps being more than a little apprehensive in letting this huge guy do his Standing SSP, Senton over the ring post, C-4, etc. Birchill has also trimmed-up considerably since those videos, so for all we know, he could be even more agile now, or the complete opposite. Time will tell. Im sure if the day comes that he gets a high profile WM match, WWE may let him do some of his spots, but until then, I dont see it happening.
natey2k4 Posted October 24, 2005 Report Posted October 24, 2005 Completely off-topic.. but I watched Batman Begins yesterday.. and it's scary how much Christian Bale and Paul London look alike. Everything he came on-screen I started thinking about wrestling LOL.
