Bound For Glory OaO thread

Recommended Posts

All I know is I enjoyed it and didn't almost fall asleep, something I cannot say for any WWE show. Great? Hell no, lots of the guys seemed off. Horrible? Not even close.

I don't feel cheated so that's all that matters to me.

Man...it really sounds like TNA dropped the ball big time with this one....did Vince come in and book this show or something...and no not Russo...it'll be interesting to see where they go with this considering I've never heard Rhyno on the mike before...although I do recall a time when people on this board were all over Rhyno's jock and wanting him to be pushed in the E so maybe TNA let's him go monster an kill everybody before dropping the title to Joe?

It wasn't a bad show. It was certainly better than WWE PPVs lately, but not by a huge margin. It was a very hit or miss show, and the crummy ending is going to leave a bad taste in people's mouthes. Overall it was kind of just an average show.

No, it was a bad show, it really was

The pre show was the MOTN, and that is BAD, no matter how you slice it

I thought the booking for Rhino made him a good threat:

Wins Monster's Ball, making him seem tough.

Wins the Gauntlet, making him seem durable.

Then pins Jarrett CLEAN, making him seem like a champion.

All in one night.

That, to me, is building someone into a champion. But that could be my opinion.

Sorry, but did YOU see No Mercy?  Why say someone was trolling?  It's my opinion.

But when TNA's "WrestleMania" comes off having me leave the room during the main, it's bad.  Bad.

WWE's Wrestlemania main event did the same for me.

On second reaction, Rhino winning the title is alright. It gets the title off of fucking Jarrett, which nobody should be complaining about, and it gives them something else to work with. I don't know where TNA is going to go from here, but I've gotta say I'm pleased with the result of the ME. Had to reward people that bought on the basis of Jarrett/Nash by giving them something, and they did.

Shrug. I tend to consider a bad show to be one where the matches are generally bad. The matches on this show weren't generally bad. There were a couple stinkers, but the rest was passable. If this was bad, then some recent WWE PPVs/early TNA monthlys have been the worst shows in wrestling history.

Ummm, ok, I guess I'm in the minority as usual.

This was my first TNA PPV ever, and I haven't even watched much TNA period. I watched it with my brother, who hasn't watched wrestling since before WCW closed down, and my father who has always watched wrestling, and still watches, WWE, etc... We all loved it, and thought it was better than most WWE PPVs we've all seen lately.

That's all I'll really say now. I don't feel cheated out of my money. There were highs and there were lows.

I can't wait to see what you guys call a "good" TNA PPV.

The Ironman was exactly what it should have been. Both men dead on their feet at the end just looking for the desperation pin. Then Daniels sees an opening for Angel Wings since he can't get the roll-up win, but Styles has him so well scouted he knows he can reverse it. He uses a roll through making Daniels thinking he has to counter that, uses the opening to lock in the Clash and goodnight.

Sorry, but Ironman matches that end 6-5 piss me off since if you can pin that guy so fucking fast anytime you want then WHY DON'T YOU IN THE NON IRONMAN MATCHES!

The whole story was that Rhino went through the monster's ball, the gauntlet, and then Jarrett kicked his BUTT, Jarrett had his cronies interfere like every time, hits Rhino with the guitar, and even with that, Rhino hits the gore at the right time and beats him.

That's a fucking great story (and by the way, face/heel doesn't really matter in TNA where the crowd is cheering everyone who can wrestle worth a crap).

I don't see why anyone couldn't give this a thumbs up unless they were expecting the BEST PPV EVAH. If Joe would have been in Rhino's spot you guys would have marked like little schoolgirls.

I'm so glad I didn't buy this. Fuckin Rhino....I mean seriously Rhino. TNA just loves to be random lately.

He may indeed look like a WWE midcard reject with an indy fed's belt there, but deceive yourself into thinking this means anything : Rhino has punked out the Rock several times, and the Rock was a multiple-time world champion.

How much of tonight do you think TNA redid becasue of Nash's injury...they plan the gauntlet which was smart on such a short notice...but Joe/Lyger gets 7 minutes and Joe works slow, possibly to save himself for the Gauntlet, Rhyno wins the Ball but who knows if tyhat was the original idea since they haven't been pushing Rhyno...sounds like a crazy night...glad I didn't spend the money...better luck next month TNA....

Glad I'm not the only one who thinks so.

And I enjoyed the event too...so far, every TNA PPV I've ordered I've enjoyed.

Hasn't TNA established that EVERYONE in the company HATES Jarrett? So doesn't that mean anyone is a face when they go against him.

They just made it seem like "title is more important than what you were", which is exactly what a company SHOULD do.

TNA was able to make it seem like ANYONE in the company, at any moment, can win the World Title. Anyone.

Well, except for AMW, Gail, and Team Canada...everyone hates Jarrett, yes.

Exactly. They told a better story about Rhino in a single night, than what we've seen in WWE in terms of storylines that last for weeks, or months even.

What's the better story? What we saw from Rhino tonight, or some bullshit like we saw with Eddie and Rey?

For a three and a half hour show I was only bored at two points (Diamonds in the Rough match, and 3LK/Canada) which is about the point I reach within the first 60 minutes of most WWE PPVs. The ending was built up well within this one show, and while Rhino may not end up going anywhere, they made him look like a star. As someone else said, if Joe or someone of that ilk had been put in his position people would have been overreacting in the opposite direction.

Don't forget the pre-show where Rhino de-bunked Raven's destiny and that Raven had gone soft. He essentially cemented right there that he would do anything for the title.
