Guest *KNK* Report post Posted October 26, 2005 Flesh that out with Styles/Williams, Daniels/Joe, another X match involving Aries, something with 3LK and you got your card. Hopefully they learned from BFG that they dont need to overload the card with un-neccesary matches. 7 matches is the right #.
Corey_Lazarus 0 Report post Posted October 26, 2005 Hopefully they learned from BFG to never take a shitload of gimmick matches and throw them onto one show. Sure, it DOES make the show seem bigger to have a lot of gimmick matches on one event, but really: it just ruins the show since then every match is about the GIMMICK and not the WORKERS. Sooooo hey. Sounds like a good card, so far. Be interesting to see Sabu/Abyss, if only because Sabu is the best he's been in years, and Abyss is damn good. I'm expecting bloodshed in no less than three matches, and I wouldn't mind a draw for Sabu/Abyss. Think about it: re-do the Born to be Wired finish...sorta. Sabu is too wrapped in barbed wire to continue, and Abyss is COVERED in thumbtacks and is beaten pretty much unconscious. Both men get put over because they fought until they couldn't continue, and it leaves open another rematch.
Jebus 0 Report post Posted October 26, 2005 My only complaint about Abyss vs. Sabu is that Abyss beat Sabu decisively just over a month ago at Unbreakable (or was it Sacrifice?)

Essentially anything that happened in the past never happened. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> So...so true. Guys like Sabu and Hardy are now paid to put over homegrown talent like Abyss and Brown. You can tell everyone that Brown is this "star" but beating Hardy makes it so.
Silence 0 Report post Posted October 26, 2005 Styles vs. Williams for the X-Division title already happened at last November's PPV (Victory Road). I really wanted a fresh AJ/Sabin match in TNA, since they've probably only wrestled each other once in their careers (ROH in 2003, but AJ was sick that night, so it wasn't that great). I guess TNA thinks they can't do X-Division title matches without having it be face vs. heel for some reason. Either that, or TNA still has such a hard-on for Petey Williams, even though he's the best wrestler in Team Canada right now by default (unless TNA ever brings Johnny Devine back), because Bobby Roode only does a bunch of restholds and growls, Eric Young only knows how to bump, sell, and look like a joke in segments, and A-1 is absolute shit. I'm a huge mark for that gimmick match. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Either Matt Bentley or Sharkboy will be the sole survivor of the face X-Division team. Edit: Wait, won't Samoa Joe and/or Christopher Daniels be in this match? If so, I'll have better hopes about the outcome at least.

They NEED to go with Daniels/Joe at this ppv, as I've been dying to see that match in TNA and it just makes sense with the contender structure in TNA right now for the X title. The winner of Ultimate X gets the shot at Styles at this same ppv, so have a contenders match with Joe/Daniels with the winner taking on the champ at Turning Point. The Survival X match sounds interesting. Can't wait to see what they do with it. Six man main event makes sense given everything that has happened. Raven has got to play a part in that match somehow, someway.

I think Daniels vs. Joe should happen since I hoped it would at Unbreakable, before TNA stuck AJ into their business (good match from what I saw after I downloaded it a while back, though, but AJ being involved was still pointless). I'm still wary about the Survival X match, like I said, due to TNA possibly doing something ridiculous like having Bentley, Dutt, and/or Sharkboy being the sole survivors and having someone like Sabin and/or Aries eliminated early. Dangerous A 0 Report post Posted October 26, 2005 Something I'd like to see for Survival X is for TNA to steal the Captain's Fall match with Joe and Daniels as captains. Perhaps have Joe and one other X guy (I'd prefer Aries) overcome Daniels after all of Daniels men are eliminated. Then when Daniels gets beat, he can say it took 2 men to beat him and challenges Joe at the next ppv. Meanwhile, slowly build Aries up the X Division ladder as the next X Division headliner type because Aries and Joe rocks and I'm banking Aries vs Styles and/or Daniels would kick 7 different types of ass as well. Dangerous A 0 Report post Posted October 27, 2005 I know they are matching up at an ROH show here very soon, but I don't recall a match between the two. (not saying it hasn't happened, saying I have no knowledge of one)
cabbageboy 0 Report post Posted October 27, 2005 Sabu vs. Abyss...I might actually want to see this show for that match. I might actually have this be a crazed draw or maybe even have Sabu win, though Abyss would win the blowoff at some point.

They did that in ROH a couple of years back. I found and watched the Aries/Joe match where Aries took the title. That was a damn good match. My opinion of Aries is rising week by week, and now I know why he gets so much love. The man can *work*.

Jebus 0 Report post Posted November 4, 2005 From TNAwrestling.com: “ELIMINATION X” MATCH ANNOUNCED FOR “GENESIS” Eight X Division Stars To Compete In Team Elimination Bout A new match has been added to TNA’s “Genesis” Pay-Per-View on Sunday, November 13, with eight X Division stars competing in a team elimination bout! Known as “Elimination X”, the bout will feature one team of “The Fallen Angel” Christopher Daniels, “The Samoan Submission Machine” Samoa Joe, Alex Shelley and Roderick Strong taking on the team of Chris Sabin, Matt Bentley, “The Original Playa From The Himalaya” Sonjay Dutt and Austin Aries! Under elimination rules, the bout will continue until one team has completely eliminated the other – meaning the odds can change throughout the match! TNAwrestling.com contacted “The Fallen Angel” Christopher Daniels for his comments on the newly-added bout… “It’s more than fitting that yours truly, Mr. TNA, has been named the captain of ‘Team Ministry’ at the Genesis Pay-Per-View,” Daniels told TNAwrestling.com. “After all, who else on ‘Team Ministry’ has the accolades and qualifications to lead us to victory at Genesis? So naturally, the decision was easy!” It should be noted that neither TNA management nor Daniels’ teammates were aware of any decision to name "The Fallen Angel" a Team Captain. Certainly, fans of the high-flying, daredevil X Division are in for a treat at “Genesis” with all of the top X stars in the ring at one time! What insane moves will these stars pull off, and which team will come out on top? Tune into “Genesis” live and exclusively on Pay-Per-View on Sunday, November 13! Adam 0 Report post Posted November 4, 2005 No, I like that idea. Builds Joe/Daniels up instead of just saying 'well, they didn't get along on the prime time special, so we're putting them in a match!' They need to explore the fact that they don't like each other, and that both want a shot (or in Daniels case, another shot) at Styles.
