SteakGrowsOnUecker 0 Report post Posted November 3, 2005 Bulls win 109-105 in OT. Great way to start the season, I seriously was ready to shit all over them after that atrocious first half and 3rd quarter. Songalia was the man tonight, I could learn to like this guy. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Don't forget about Duhon's performance. A triple double, even after the brutal hit in the Minny game. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> No doubt, he was brilliant when the Bulls really needed him.

Ripper 0 Report post Posted November 3, 2005 I watched the Hawks/Warriors game and dear lord did the Warriors turn on the offense. They were a absolute beauty to watch once they shook off some rust and started running their break and baron davis finding the guys for the open 3's.
Dangerous A 0 Report post Posted November 3, 2005 Baron has tweaked his hamstring and may not play versus Utah on Friday. Still, the Warriors played well in the second half even without Davis. The Hawks were putting the scare there for a half though and they'll cause matchup problems some nights because they have a bunch of tweeners who are all athletic and long. However, they won't matchup well most nights, meaning they'll still be on the losing end most games. Still, should be fun to watch. I still don't understand having Joe Johnson as a starting PG. While Ty Lue isn't the answer, he's a better option in the backcourt setting Joe Johnson up.
Rendclaw 0 Report post Posted November 3, 2005 I saw the Pistons actually having fun on the court, something that was sorely lacking in the Larry Brown Regime. What's more, Flip actually used the bench. What with the balance of power shifting towards the East now (and lets face it: where Shaq goes, the balance of power goes with him), I see at least five teams contending for the conference championship. I love how everyone and their mother are picking the Spurs to run away with the title though, though a few came around and picked the Pistons after they destroyed the Sixers. This is going to be a hell of a season to watch.
Dangerous A 0 Report post Posted November 3, 2005 Yeah, there seems to be a lot more parity this year, but it's early. The Spurs are the favorite OUT OF THE WEST. Those are key words. Indiana, Detroit, and Miami have just as good a shot to beat SA in a seven game series if they make it. The West basically has one very elite team and the rest are a notch or two below them. If Amare were healthy, there'd be two teams vying for Western supremacy. The East have more title contenders this year than the West IMO.
Ripper 0 Report post Posted November 3, 2005 Thats the thing, Amare IS coming back this year and I still say its a two team race until I see Houston play for a while.
Dangerous A 0 Report post Posted November 3, 2005 I am gonna wait until I see Amare actually playing. While the core players are still there, he still has to adjust to some new guys in the system. Houston is right there, but they need a killer instinct transplant pronto to go from very good to elite.
Ripper 0 Report post Posted November 3, 2005 The thing is, after watching phoenix play, it really looks like they aren't going to change anything. They are still playing like they have a guy to dump the ball to in the post. its going to cost them some games, but it might also take away some of that adjusting when he does get back. I will see how long it last. I personally hope that they make a move to get some guy with a so so post game like Al Harrington to get ANYthing resembling a post game going. Hell give the Hawks a first rounder back. They would probably take it.

Cheech Tremendous 0 Report post Posted November 3, 2005 Not to throw a wrench in things for the Suns, but didn't Amare get the same surgery that Webber, Kidd, etc. had? If that's the case, he might not bring that explosive return that everyone is expecting.
Dangerous A 0 Report post Posted November 3, 2005 Tim Legler was on as a guest on my local sports talk radio and he mentioned something about the Kings that really stands out after the first two games. The Kings are flat out not athletic. Their starting five, which is about as solid a starting five as you'll find, all play below the rim. The most athletic person on their bench is Kevin Martin, who will probrably not see hardly any playing time since Adelman has a harder time than Vince McMahon at elevating and developing new talent. I also think the lack of athletic type can be traced to Geoff Petrie somewhat. He and Adelman do not have the patience to wait for young, fresh legs to develop and would rather have a less athletic, more skilled player. While you definitely need highly skilled players, in this day and age, you also need fresh legs to sustain 48 minutes of game time through 82 regular season games. This lack of athleticism and tendency to stay away from it disturbs me in terms of the Kings future.
Sass 0 Report post Posted November 4, 2005 Kobe Bryant's got a rough road ahead of him but I was more than pleased with last night's result of the LA/Denver game. Bryant's so clutch when he needs to be. I thought for sure he was going to put the Nuggets away at the end of the 4th.
Guest Vitamin X Report post Posted November 4, 2005 I'm less than impressed with Odom, but happy with Kwame's performance tonight. You've got to be kidding me. Did we watch the same game? Odom didn't shoot well, but he did all kinds of shit that kept them in that game, on both ends. Kwame was just kind of there, very blah performance. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Well, actually, I didn't get to watch the game, I just read the stat sheet afterwards, so you're probably right. I just expected Odom to have a better game offensively, but if he's tenacious on defense, that'd be great. I am, however, here to watch the Phoenix game. Also, I was probably looking at the stats for the last preseason game. Smush Parker had 20 points, Kobe had 33, and Devean George had 14. Good contribution from Smush considering he just signed (so recently in fact, I don't ever remember even hearing about it).
Guest Vitamin X Report post Posted November 4, 2005 Aaaand Shaq is injured already! Looks like a serious knee injury. Jeez, big guy, doesn't it usually take you till at least January to get hurt?

Guest Vitamin X Report post Posted November 4, 2005 Actually nevermind, it's just a sprained right ankle. Shaq clutched his knee and needed help getting off the court, so it looked more serious at first. Why can't Kobe be the one to bust his damn knee? Maybe because he actually stays in shape? bobobrazil1984 0 Report post Posted November 4, 2005 Gee, the Heat really coulda used a 3 point specialist in that final minute. Like, I don't know, one of the good triple shooters who were traded/left because of the Heat roster explosion.
