I pity those who are stuck with Jets/Pats right now. Holy shit this game sucks so far.

Try being stuck with Washington and St. Louis and hearing about 3 million references to Harvard.

As a Charger fan, who should I be rooting for in this DEN-KC game?

Kansas City. Someone needs to slow Denver down and the Chargers get to play KC & Denver one more time.

No kidding. By the second half of the Chiefs/Broncos game I chose to watch the commercials rather than bothering to switch to the Pats/Jets.

Steelers deserve to miss the playoffs. Age and injuries have finally caught up with them...

Age shouldnt be an issue since Ben Rothenburger, Health Miller, Parker can take the team to the playoffs but it was the injury to the QB that hurt them the most.

Holy fuck, what happened in Miami?

I'm half paying attention and saw earlier that Buffalo lead 23-3, now CBS is saying Miami won 24-23

The Bills allowed 21 unanswered points in 15 minutes to a struggling offense all year, with their backup QB in the game. Grand. So, the Bills have now proved they have no positives.

Actually it's the fact they have played like total crap for 3 straight weeks. They have no business going to the playoffs if they continue like this.

The honeymoon is over for Parker...he will not be a starter in this league. Ben, even with his built in excuse of the thumb etc, made 3 or 4 terrible throws that hurt his team today. Heath Miller played a good game when they got him the ball.

I cant wait to hear sports talk radio in this town(pittsburgh) tomorrow, should be classic.

The 'Fins couldn't have scored four more points to cover and get me $2,000?

Sure, I lost only forty bucks, but that shit runs deep when you're off by one on a six-team parlay.

Okay let's have a look at my predictions for today and see how they held up:

Tennessee at Indianapolis 1:00 PM: Biggest upset ever! Not. Colts in a squash, about like the previous matchup if not worse. (Hit this one on the head, but that was easy)

Green Bay at Chicago 1:00 PM: Favre always wins in Chicago, but the Pack seems to find ways to lose this year. Bears by 6. (Bears won by more than that actually).

Jacksonville at Cleveland 1:00 PM: I am so torn on this. On one hand the Browns suck, but on the other Leftwich is out and I'm not 100% sold on David Garrard. Also, I've thought the Jags would find some way to lose 1 of the 3 road jobber games of late and this would be the one. So I guess I'll go Browns by 3 with serious reservation. (My upset pick didn't pan out here...god the Jags have to be the lames 9-3 team ever, next week they get an asswhooping).

Minnesota at Detroit 1:00 PM: The Good Ship Viking keeps cruising with an assbeating of helpless Detroit. Vikes by 10. (Vikings won by only be 5 I think).

Dallas at NY Giants 1:00 PM: This one is huge. Surely the Giants can't keep making these great comebacks only to fall short. NYG by 7 in a very good game. (Am I good or what?)

Tampa Bay at New Orleans 1:00 PM: I'll go with Junior Simms here by about 10. (Tampa won by 7 instead of 10, ah well).

Buffalo at Miami 1:00 PM: What a jobber matchup here. Miami has quit trying to win (right Saban?) so I'll take the Bills by 7. (I dunno what the hell happened here, but it's two jobbers so who cares).

Cincinnati at Pittsburgh 1:00 PM: In these games you have to ask yourself who needs it most? The answer is of course the Steelers, coming off 2 straight losses and they can't afford a 3rd straight at home. (Bengals showed me something today, I didn't think they'd win in Pittsburgh).

Atlanta at Carolina 1:00 PM: Carolina doesn't really amaze me, but this one is pretty tough to call. I'll go with the Falcons by 3 just to make the NFC South interesting. Vick seems to have Carolina's number like TB has his. (Ok now I'm starting to suck, Panthers killed them).

Houston at Baltimore 1:00 PM: Winners: the fans! God I dunno, I guess Baltimore by about 6 in an ugly 12-6 type game. (Mostly right here, it was a shitty, ugly 16-15 game).

Arizona at San Francisco 4:05 PM: Oh God. Another shit game. I'll take the 49ers by 3 in OT since they always beat the Cardinals. (Two jobbers again, Cardinals get off the snide vs. SF!).

Washington at St. Louis 4:05 PM: Ryan Fitzpatrick baby. Redskins might be done, so I'll take the Rams here at home by 7. (The awesomeness of Fitzpatrick has been exaggerated).

NY Jets at New England 4:15 PM: Ah, back to playing jobbers for the Pats. NE by about 6 in their usual boring fashion. (They won by 13 instead, shitty game).

Denver at Kansas City 4:15 PM: Denver soooo needs to lose to someone like RIGHT NOW, and it'll be here. KC by 10. (KC won by 4, good game really).

Oakland at San Diego 8:30 PM: Easy pick here, SD by 21 in an assbeating. (The asses were beaten as predicted).

Well I got 9 winners right out of 15. Not real great but not horrid either.

Would you leave the Jags alone already! I'm not even a fan of theirs, but your constant dogging of them is ridiculous. They are 9-3 having beaten the Steelers, Bengals, and Seahawks. And they also lost 3-10 to Indy AT Indy making it the closest game the Colts have played all year. The Jags are a fine team. Not great, but certainly a billion times better than you give them credit for.

Also, I went 10 of 15 with my picks so HA! :P

Seriously, is there any doubt whatsoever as to who's going to win the Super Bowl? There's just no way to beat Indianapolis. At all. Ball control on offense doesn't work because the Colts' offense can score so quickly, that is, if you can even get the run game going against the speedy, much more physical Colts defense. They can win low-scoring games. They have enough veterans (pissed off ones too, looking for a rightly deserved championship) to make it through the playoffs. And of course, they can beat you in a shootout as well. No lack of coaching prowess, nothing. And more than likely, they'll have homefield throughout the playoffs as well, all the way through to playing on turf in the Super Bowl as well.

People are realizing this, finally.

Words can't even describe my disappointment at the Bills' effort today. How you can go from a dominating performance to giving up 21 straight points to lose is beyond me. I'm not looking forward to watching a month of meaningless games, that's for sure.

I can't really add on to this, you've summed it all up already...very disappointing season...huge let down...is Mularkey on the hotseat now?

Posted

Yeah I know that the Jags beat the Seahawks, Steelers, and Bengals but the Steelers game was with Tommy Maddox. I guess my problem with them is that they are the most boring and bland team I've ever seen that just keeps kinda winning somehow. They're like the AFC version of the Panthers.

I'll make this prediction for the Jags. They will go 12-4 due to their joke of a 2nd half schedule and then play the struggling Pats the 1st round. And the Patriots will beat them by about 3 points on a Vinatieri FG in the last minute.

Nope.

All of Buffalo blames Donahoe, and many blame Losman. Mularkey probably has at least another year of suckage before the heat is on.

is it safe to give Losman the "Rob Johnson Part Duex" tag like we talked about once before?

You know, I love Woody Paige (same last name, after all) but man he needs to quit with this Broncos bullshit. Since Week 1 he has constantly said that the Broncos were going to beat the Colts in the AFC title game. I'd like to know what about Jake Plummer or the Broncos would make anyone think they could go into Indy in the playoffs and not get beaten 45-20.

Well cabbage I'm afraid we have to disagree again (not about Woody, I like him too). The Broncos are the other team that you keep slinging hate at for no reason. The Jaguars I can almost understand, but the Broncos are not just good this year, they are playing great. If anyone could knock off the Colts in the playoffs in the AFC it is definately the Broncos. They, usually, play great defense and they run the ball as well as anyone in the league. I certainly won't predict Denver over Indy yet, but if it happened I would not be surprised in the least.

The guy with the hair, Polamalu can be the next big star for the defense.

Polamalu is over-rated. Every week someone blows smoke up his ass, calling him a great safety ... I just don't see it. Look at the TD run in the game yesterday, if he hit & wraps the guy (as every football player is taught from day one) he prevents (or at least postpones) a TD. Instead, he just projectiles himself towards the guy's legs, and then lies there as the guy's momentum carries him into the end zone.

Ronnie Lott wouldn't have pussed out on the tackle that way.

And re: Woody Paige. I've never heard a more biased, 'homer' reporter than him. Of course he's going to say his beloved Broncos are going to beat Indy.
