USC Wuz Robbed! Posted February 24, 2006 Report Posted February 24, 2006 Hopefully you get a Pedro start. That makes it more worthwhile.
Precious Roy Posted February 24, 2006 Report Posted February 24, 2006 Hopefully you get a Pedro start. That makes it more worthwhile. Hopefully you get Victor Zambrano the annual 'Gary Sheffield is pissed off' story How about that?
Bruiser Chong Posted February 24, 2006 Report Posted February 24, 2006 I don't want a Pedro start. I'd like to see the Cubs win. Besides, I saw Pedro in 2004. Good enough for me. I'm just hoping I get so see someone like Prior or Wood pitch. I've only been to four Cubs games in my life, but Greg Maddux has pitched in all but one of them. Of course, he was playing for Atlanta in one of them, but the Cubs had Shawn Estes on the mound.
TheDevilAndGodAreRagingInsideMe Posted February 25, 2006 Report Posted February 25, 2006 Didn't Sheffield say like a week ago how happy he was with the Yankees because Cashman told him that they were picking up the 07 option?
Guest Posted February 25, 2006 Report Posted February 25, 2006 He was happy with the money. That's all Sheff cares about.
mike546 Posted February 25, 2006 Report Posted February 25, 2006 Didn't Sheffield say like a week ago how happy he was with the Yankees because Cashman told him that they were picking up the 07 option? That was like TWO days ago.
Bruiser Chong Posted February 25, 2006 Report Posted February 25, 2006 Sorta makes you wish Gary would start drinking again, eh?
TheDevilAndGodAreRagingInsideMe Posted February 25, 2006 Report Posted February 25, 2006 Sheff is such a douche bag
Dobbs 3K Posted February 25, 2006 Report Posted February 25, 2006 As a life long Brewers fan, Gary Sheffield can go fuck himself.
TheDevilAndGodAreRagingInsideMe Posted February 25, 2006 Report Posted February 25, 2006 As if ESPN couldn't piss me off anymore than they already do, Pedro Gomez is now reporting Bonds' batting practice stats daily. (He hit 8 home runs today, FYI) Honestly, I can't imagine even Bonds and the Giants biggest fans give a fuck.
Dobbs 3K Posted February 25, 2006 Report Posted February 25, 2006 Sounds like we can look forward to another exciting season of Barry Bonds, Yankees, and Red Sox coverage from ESPN. Supposedly Bonds is going to be finished after this season, if his body isn't feeling too good...at least that's what he claimed in an interview last week. Personally I would feel some sense of satisfaction seeing him go down with an injury and never break Hank Aaron's record.
Spaceman Spiff Posted February 25, 2006 Report Posted February 25, 2006 Hey Al - is Cole Hamels ever going to amount to anything? The dude has had injury problems, and now I read that his back has been bothering him. At this point, I'd rather the Phillies look to trade him on the prospect that some other team will overvalue him. I'm fearing that the Phils will hold on to him too long, and he'll never fulfill his potential.
Guest Princess Leena Posted February 25, 2006 Report Posted February 25, 2006 Bonds is so much of a heel asshole that I even hate him. I hope he gets 1 HR behind Babe... ESPN shows every at bat of his for like a month, and Barry blows up his knee before reaching the record. Then, he can claim his knee is racist.
USC Wuz Robbed! Posted February 25, 2006 Report Posted February 25, 2006 Eh a worthless comment. Move on.
Bored Posted February 25, 2006 Report Posted February 25, 2006 And the winner of the first offseason move to backfire goes to...the Washington Nationals. http://www.wvec.com/sharedcontent/APStorie.../D8G0B1NGD.html Brian Lawrence wanted to come into his first training camp with the Washington Nationals and make an impact — and the starting rotation. It's all on hold now until at least after the all-star break. Lawrence was diagnosed with a torn labrum in his right shoulder. The injury was discovered in an MRI conducted Friday night, team doctor Bruce Thomas said Saturday. Thomas said the best-case scenario has Lawrence returning after midseason; at worst, the right-hander will be out until September. Couple this with Alfonso Soriano still refusing to move to left field this is going to be a looooooooooooooooooooong season for the Nats. Jim Bowden will be back at ESPN in 2007.
Guest Posted February 25, 2006 Report Posted February 25, 2006 I lost out on someone cause I didn't want to drop him in my dynasty league. Shit.
Bruiser Chong Posted February 25, 2006 Report Posted February 25, 2006 I didn't think Lawrence was going to do them much, anyway. Seems like they mostly fell apart because of no offense.

His stats speak for themselves, and I had the opportunity to watch him pitch personally. When he does pitch, his stuff is spot on. That he hasn't suffered a pitching arm injury gives some hope yet. Even if Lawrence never pitches an inning for the Nats, at worse they dumped Vinny Castilla to make room for a top ten prospect. Hardly a bad deal.
Vern Gagne Posted February 26, 2006 Report Posted February 26, 2006 Orel Hersheiser is back on ESPN. I sure hope John Kruk was fired. My predictions are never right. I'll just say the streak of a different World Series winner will continue.
MarvinisaLunatic Posted February 26, 2006 Report Posted February 26, 2006 The Os signed Richard Hidalgo to a minor league contract.
Styles Posted February 26, 2006 Report Posted February 26, 2006 The Os signed Richard Hidalgo to a minor league contract. The 2006 Orioles Outfield: Reclamation Project City! Starring: Corey Patterson, Richard Hidalgo, Kevin Millar and Luis Matos! Featuring Jeff Conine as the wily old sheriff and David Newhan as the young cop trying to earn his stripes. Nah, I actually like the amount of depth we're piling on. Competition should make everyone play harder and you got to figure some of these guys are gonna bounce back.
Bruiser Chong Posted February 26, 2006 Report Posted February 26, 2006 Ken Williams calls Frank Thomas an "idiot."
devo Posted February 27, 2006 Report Posted February 27, 2006 I received a pamphlet from the Mets today, which detailed their season ticket and group packages. On the front, it said... "Get Your Tickets Before the Bandwagon Does" ...which is another example of the confidence bordering on cockiness some of the Mets' players and management have displayed thus far. I just hope they plan on playing well enough to justify their own expectations.
USC Wuz Robbed! Posted February 27, 2006 Report Posted February 27, 2006 Nah I doubt there would be a bandwagon for the Mets. Hell I don't remember much of one the last time they went to the World Series.

Sounds like two New York teams making guarantees which hopefully neither will live up to.

Hidalgo/Patterson/Gibbons is a decent OF if Hidalgo is healthy (should be good for 25 HR/80 RBI), Patterson plays like he did in 2004 (should be good for 15 HR 70 RBI 30 SB) and Gibbons builds on last year (should be good for 30 HR 90 RBI). That would be a much better OF than they've put on the field over the last few years.
Guest Brian Posted February 27, 2006 Report Posted February 27, 2006 Ken Williams calls Frank Thomas an "idiot." Fuck Ken Williams
CanadianGuitarist Posted February 27, 2006 Report Posted February 27, 2006 Ken Williams calls Frank Thomas an "idiot." Fuck Ken Williams I just saw this on PTI. That was unbelievable, right or wrong, thats a pretty ballsy way to talk about one of the best players of our generation.
