RAW for Monday Dec. 12, garnered another 4.1 rating on hours of 4.1 and 4.1

In other news (from PWTorch):

"The Rock and Steve Austin, two of WWE's all-time biggest stars, were disgusted with the controversial Undertaker angle that involved Eddie Guerrero's car, reports PWTorch.com.

And, those two were not the only influential WWE superstars upset by the angle, which aired on the Tuesday SmackDown! special.

Another former WWE headliner said, "It's almost like you've worked for Satan when you see decisions like that. It was really in poor taste."

Austin and The Rock have been keeping a good distance from WWE as of late; although Rock has a legitimate excuse in his movie career, sources say that more is at play than just his heavy schedule.

WWE wrestlers have been criticizing a great number of Vince McMahon's recent decisions.

"That n*gga comment was pretty inexcusable. Then, in the same week, they have Rey Mysterio comes out in Eddie's car to Eddie's music, only to blow up the car? Lots of people wondering what really is wrong with Vince," one source said.

WWE Armageddon has not been a big box office performer for WWE, with sources saying that roughly half the building is still available.

MTV.com picked up on the story of Chris Jericho writing a book about his experience in pro wrestling. Said the article, "Former WWE champion and Fozzy lead singer Chris Jericho has just signed a book deal to write his memoir. The book, called "A Lion's Tale," will focus on his formative years in the wrestling business."

Unless plans change, this book is not to be published through World Wrestling Entertainment.

I don't know, Rock and Eddie had a decent backstage relationship, so it's not out of the relm of possibility.

That said, I wonder if Rock or Stone Cold are on any kind of record with expressing their so called disgust.

Posted

You're not alone on that, niskie.

And like the other guy said... I'd be surprised if Rock still followed WWE enough to care about this. Plus, how was Rock actually approached about this?

Considering Austin's "I see sand people" line earlier this year, I doubt Vince's "nigga" comment bothered him. I could see that pissing off the Rock though considering who his father is.

From a November 2004 WON:

===

The former Debra McMichael and Debra Williams was backstage at Raw. She was looking to get back in. A lot of people I talked to described Debra, who is now 43, as still looking "hot" but obvious that she had some facial work done. Certainly no one was sympathetic to Steve Austin for hitting a woman, but everyone who knew Debra said it didn't shock them that she could drive a man to want to knock her out.

That was wonderful a year ago and it's wonderful today.

I don't believe this just because I doubt The Rock even gives enough of a shit to know what the WWE is doing on their shows these days, especially on Smackdown.

I don't think Rock is totally disconnected. I think he might keep in contact with certain workers and / or maybe with Meltzer. Point is, he's not totally out of the loop.

Posted

Rocky keeps in touch with Meltzer, out of the journalists.

I don't see how it is out of the realm of possibility that Rocky keeps up with some angles, especially if friends of his in the business are regularly in contact with him.

I know The Rock stays in touch with alot of the older stars including Bret Hart.

Another former WWE headliner said, "It's almost like you've worked for Satan when you see decisions like that. It was really in poor taste."

I wonder who was behind this wonderful quote.

It's sad to know how far Vince sometimes stoops. Rock's a busy guy now, but I'm sure he still flicks over to Raw and Smackdown. And perhaps chats with some of the guys, so he would be up to date with what's happening.

I'd guess Jericho.

My guess is it's one of the guys that's gone uber-religious. Maybe Dibiase or something. I think that only the strong religious types are likely to compare VKM to Satan.

Am I the only one that doesn't care what a wifebeating drunk finds 'disgusting' or not?

Rock's opinion might carry some weight; Austin's does not.

Correct me if I am wrong, but I could've sworn that the Rock's admitted to being a woman-beater/alcohol-abuser once or twice whilst he was a football player.

I wouldn't be surprised if Rocky had done some shitty things while in school ... they don't call it Thug-U for nothing. But, I also have a little more 'understanding' (for lack of a better word) for someone making shitty decisions when they're a teenager or in their early 20s, compared to making shitty decisions when they're in their mid-to-late 30s or even 40s. I mean, I look back at some of the things I did to people back then ... let's just say that I wasn't the nice niskie that you all know now.

Hmm, this is news to me.

I skipped out on an English class in High School once and found myself holed up in the library reading our schools copy of The Rock Says......

He tells a particularly charming story of him choking out a woman at a wedding reception.

Wait, your school librarry had a copy of The Rock's Book? Awesome. Didn't think any schools would allow wrestling books (though my HS did have that old copy of the infamous Wrestling Superstars II)
