Spaceman Spiff Posted December 20, 2005 Report Posted December 20, 2005 http://www.tvshowsondvd.com/newsitem.cfm?NewsID=4729 Feb. 28, 2006. Commentary on only 10 of the 24 episodes, but I couldn't care less. 3 discs, $39.95.
Spaceman Spiff Posted December 20, 2005 Author Report Posted December 20, 2005 The proper response is "adequate".
muzz Posted December 20, 2005 Report Posted December 20, 2005 Good news, although less commentaries is dissapointing. Still, they were stretching for things to say.
Spaceman Spiff Posted December 21, 2005 Author Report Posted December 21, 2005 Here's more info on the set The 10 episodes w/ commentary are listed. "Arcade" is 1 of them, so hopefully we'll finally get a Dave/Maura commentary track. Other commentary episodes include: Stocks, Daydream, Christmas, The Trainer, Rose Bowl, Our 50th Episode, Sleeping, Mistake, Space. Also, "The Injury" is included in this set (already was included in the 1st set), since it was aired in season 3. Featurette's onclude: -"Space": from table read to film -Filming "The Mistake" -A visit to Andy's trailer -Joe Furey's One Man NewsRadio
bob_barron Posted December 21, 2005 Report Posted December 21, 2005 Woo-hoo Injury again! Maybe they'll include the version where Bill calls Dave a penis.
Special K Posted December 21, 2005 Report Posted December 21, 2005 Arcade is such an awesome episode. Can't wait!
areacode212 Posted December 21, 2005 Report Posted December 21, 2005 ARCAAAAAAAAAAAADE! Finally! Hopefully you guys won't kick me out of the club considering I haven't even finished the first set.
the max Posted December 21, 2005 Report Posted December 21, 2005 I haven't even listened to any of the commentaries yet. I'll be getting this though.
bob_barron Posted December 21, 2005 Report Posted December 21, 2005 Arcade!!! The episode featuring GARY!~ from What I Like About You. The Real Deal, my personal favourite (even though Public Domain is the best episode) is also on this set.
Spaceman Spiff Posted December 21, 2005 Author Report Posted December 21, 2005 Yeah, Arcade is my fave. Maura looks really, really good in the episode.
DrVenkman PhD Posted December 21, 2005 Report Posted December 21, 2005 The Arcade involved Maura hanging out in a high school and smoking right? Good stuff. I always worried that maybe Seasons 1&2 were just released because they took time to record commentaries (it seemed to exist without a release date for awhile on Amazon) and there would not be follow up seasons. This pleases me quite a bit.
DrVenkman PhD Posted December 21, 2005 Report Posted December 21, 2005 http://www.tvshowsondvd.com/newsitem.cfm?NewsID=4729 Feb. 28, 2006. Commentary on only 10 of the 24 episodes, but I couldn't care less. 3 discs, $39.95. The updated story - http://www.tvshowsondvd.com/newsitem.cfm?NewsID=4735 - notes it's selling at $28 on Amazon pre-order. Consider it pre-ordered!
Boner Kawanger Posted February 28, 2006 Report Posted February 28, 2006 Why haven't I posted in this thread? Tomorrow is today!
Spaceman Spiff Posted February 28, 2006 Author Report Posted February 28, 2006 I ordered from Amazon.com, so I have to wait a little longer
Max Danger Posted February 28, 2006 Report Posted February 28, 2006 I went to Best Buy and they didn't have it out. Had the sign for it, but no copies. So I asked a dude that worked there and he was like, "did it come out today?" and I was like, "uh, yeah" and he checked in the back. Nothing. Same for fye, Target, and Wal-Mart. What's the deal? Oh well, I'll just nab it off Amazon like I do just about everything else.
Vampiro69 Posted February 28, 2006 Report Posted February 28, 2006 I went to Best Buy and they didn't have it out. Had the sign for it, but no copies. Oh well, I'll just nab it off Amazon like I do just about everything else. That is the same story where I live. I check Wal-Mart and K-Mart and neither of them had the set. Color me disappointed.
Boner Kawanger Posted March 2, 2006 Report Posted March 2, 2006 Four minutes into disc one. I got all three discs for $27.99 at MovieStop, or for the first three seasons of Family Guy. Whichever way you want to look at it.
areacode212 Posted March 4, 2006 Report Posted March 4, 2006 Just got it for $24.99 (I believe it's the lowest price around) at Best Buy! The 2 sets look quite nice together on my shelf.
DrVenkman PhD Posted March 4, 2006 Report Posted March 4, 2006 Still didn't get it from Amazon (it shipped on Monday, hoped it would have arrived by today). Thanks to no Saturday mail in Canada, it will be at least Monday until I get it. I was looking forward to watching it this weekend, too.
Hoff Posted March 5, 2006 Report Posted March 5, 2006 Had a marathon today, got through some 15 episodes. I always thought Season 3 was their best stuff, although it's not as though they erred often.
Vampiro69 Posted March 5, 2006 Report Posted March 5, 2006 I was hoping to get it for the weekend as well. Hope it arrives this monday.
DrVenkman PhD Posted March 8, 2006 Report Posted March 8, 2006 Got it Monday afternoon, finished today (not counting 5 episodes I need to re-watch for commentary and some of the features on Disc 3, like Andy Dick's trailer and the table read, etc.). What exactly was the point of slipping in "Injury" as a 25th episode (much like they did with Seasons 1+2) if they weren't going to get the unedited version? Pointless. Other then that, good times.
bob_barron Posted March 8, 2006 Report Posted March 8, 2006 We still don't get to hear Bill call Dave a penis?
DrVenkman PhD Posted March 8, 2006 Report Posted March 8, 2006 Nope. Skipped right to that part to check - as with the previous DVD release of the episode, you see Bill's mouth move to say something but it cuts to a different scene.
Vampiro69 Posted March 8, 2006 Report Posted March 8, 2006 Maybe one of you could help me out with this question: On one of the commentaries (can't remember the exact episode) Maura calls in to say that she can't make it. While she is talking on the phone with the group Dave joins in and there is some random bs'ing taking place. All of a sudden the conversation went to about sleeping around appartently involving Marua and there is a bleep that goes for about 5 seconds. Anyone have any idea what was said? I could not tell if he said something about her sleeping with a co-star or what it was.
Spaceman Spiff Posted March 9, 2006 Author Report Posted March 9, 2006 That was me. I didn't want my name used.
DrVenkman PhD Posted March 9, 2006 Report Posted March 9, 2006 It also sounds like they bleep French Stewart's name in the commentary as they were discussing AA, which is anonymous. Seems kinda pointless since the anonymous person they were discussing was a guest star working with Andy Dick in the episode, and the discussion happened while he (French) was on screen, but ok.
