Guest Leelee Report post Posted December 27, 2005 I'd just like to pointout that not all females love Cena. Infact, I believe none of them here do. Orton is the cute one, anyway! *gigglez*.

CBright7831 0 Report post Posted December 27, 2005 What a way to end the most fucked up year in WWE history. I'm gonna need some convincing before I say this is more fucked up than 2002. + The push of Carlito, Masters, Hassan to quickly + John Cena floundering as champion + The JR Angle + The death of Eddie Guerrero + WWE putting the fast break on Hassan after London bombing + Lesnar talks burst through and he moves on to Japan + Batista/Triple H getting shoved down our throats from February to late June + Kurt Angle's sexapade + Randy Orton using the lowrider of Eddie Guerrero to kill the Undertaker + Chris Jericho not resigning + Christian not resigning (although he wasn't going anywhere) + Vince/Shawn angle tonight Of course, I never saw Katie Vick (thank God) and only read reports of it. cabbageboy 0 Report post Posted December 27, 2005 Having watched the Police Academy boxed set I got for Christmas, I think Hooks (Marion Ramsey) is a great idea for Shelton's mama. She can be all timid most of the time, then some heel finally gets in face and she goes off on him. "Don't move, dirtbag!" If there was any point in the Vince/Bret/Shawn nonsense tonight I'd really like to know what it is. Seriously, what's it for? Once Vince names a new GM he'll mostly vanish from TV again for a long period of time. I don't know if most of the audience even remembers Montreal and even those who do have a sketchy memory on what even took place. So really, Michaels is right in telling Vince to just drop it. As far as Angle's tirade tonight, I agreed with pretty much everything he said. It's a really bad idea to have a guy voice a very legitimate political point of view as a heel act, since there's likely a lot of people in the audience who agree...yet since the vicious heel is saying these things it makes them feel uncomfortable in having those views. foleyfanforever88 0 Report post Posted December 27, 2005 (edited) Check out the "HB GAY" sign in the crowd ya, that sign got taken away the show was somewhat entertaining..the best part was trying as hard as i could to get the shelton chants loud enough to get on TV and apparently it was successful. this 6 year old kid next to us (a cena fan) got up like 6 times because he didnt want to hear the pyro of the next guys coming out..man i wanted to kill that kid. and you are all totally right about the cena chants being only little kids and girls. it was horrible. Golgo 13 0 Report post Posted December 27, 2005 Whenver people refer to 2002, they're talking about the surreal nature of WWE at the time. Nothing from this year with the possible exception of the Mysterio/Guerrero angle, his death, and the Undertaker stuff was all that weird. In 2002 there was the nWo, its quick death and everything that happened in-between (Austin/Bubba/Bradshaw vs the nWo every week, Nash tearing every muscle in his body), Austin's walk outs and their effect on the company, the WWF becoming the WWE, the thoroughly mediocre main event scene, the Plane Ride from Hell, Katie Vick, Triple H driving forklifts, Big Show being the one of all people to finally beat Brock. There's probably more I'm blocking out and about the only good stuff that went on was the Smackdown Six.

Lil' Bitch 0 Report post Posted December 27, 2005 Wow, thank goodness I decided to skip out tonight. I'd rather have HBK Vs. JBL at Mania than Michaels / McMahon. Here's what I've been able to figure out: -If Vince is in the ring with a heel, then he's a face. -If Vince is in the ring with a face, he's a heel. What I noticed a few years back anyway, if Vince is on RAW he would be a face, but when he showed up on SD, he was a heel.
Angle-plex 0 Report post Posted December 27, 2005 Angle's promo was embarassing and horribly overacted. I have no idea what direction they're going with the anti-USA character but it sucks thus far. Cena/Shelton was actually a fun little match for a mid-RAW main event, but Cena can't be over enough to main event WrestleMania at this point.
spman 0 Report post Posted December 27, 2005 I was AT this show tonight, and boy was it a stinker. The crowd started out hot, but there was literally 40+ minutes between matches, including the Kurt Angle interview where he draws cheap, unescessary heat, the Kurt Angle Non-Match, and the 20 minute Edge segment. It picked up a bit when Cena came out, but no one was really interested in the match, we were more interested in doing the battling chants for Shelton and Cena. I'm not sure if it came off on TV, but when they started rolling out the carpet for the Triple H segment, everyone, myself included, took that as a chance to hit the bathroom. After the Kane match, people started looking at their watches and realized that the Vince Mcamhon segment was the only thing left, so at that point literally half the arena packs up and leaves. I stuck around for the whole thing, including the stpuid Cena vs Angle bonus match whihc only went to a bullshit DQ anyways. WWE better clean up their fucking act, because when even the hardcore dedicated marks who buy every piece of merchandise, order every PPV, and go to every show start chanting boring and bullshit, then you're quickly going to have nothing left as WCW learned. RedJed 0 Report post Posted December 27, 2005 May be stretching for a reason for that surreal (and in the most fucked up way possible) segment to end the show but this MAY be it. Is there a chance that Michaels wins the Chamber match (or at best something is led to Michaels/Cena where HBK wins the belt) and they build a storyline out of McMahon constantly trying to screw him out of the title when Michaels gets it? It just seems so blatantly passe that WWE is probably all about it. The biggest thing out of the show tonight was that the Elimination Chamber stip matches werent nearly as cool as last year (Didnt the opponents of the guys in the Chamber match get a chance to be added into the match with a win when they did this last year?) and that in one ten minute (or less) segment we got Angle doing the stupid shit we all assumed it would be, Vince doing another oh-so repetitive double entere promo with the girls, and then them probably doing the only even half interesting angle on Raw with Mickey James becoming some stalker in love/lust with Trish? Did anyone find the Masters/Guererro match finish, or lack thereof, kind of odd as in a, this was not scripted, way? The ref was certainly talking quite a bit to Masters when he was out on the floor. Was hoping Chavo, as crazy as it may be, could have been added to the Chamber match as (and I hate to say this) I think he can really get over with using the family name and in the honor of Eddy as a reason for a decent push. Not sure what was up there with the non-finish. Even Styles blatantly pointed out the obvious. What a fucking weird show this was!
The Niggardly King 0 Report post Posted December 27, 2005 Was there even a point to the end of RAW? Vince could have just came out, and blew a load all over the cover of the DVD, and I think that would have had a better result. LJSexay 0 Report post Posted December 27, 2005 what a clusterfuck this RAW was.. and that's saying something, considering its longterm quality over the past few.. well, a long long time. I have no idea where anything is going anymore. I was playing WWE Day of Reckoning, and by god, it's story mode made 100000000x much more sense, and was much more entertaining, than most of the things going on with the WWE now. oh. I shoud say I'm a Cena fan. While I totally see why the pussifying of his character has led to smark basklash - my question would have to be, would you guys really want his edgy gimmick back? I remember everyone COMPLAINING about how midcard it was! anyway. Dumb RAW. I don't like Carlito. the end.

Vince could have just came out, and blew a load all over the cover of the DVD, and I think that would have had a better result. Thats what is mind boggling about all of that - basically it buried, in a way, the actual DVD - this is the same DVD that they are supposed to be shilling out like crazy right now but instead we got that for no real apparent reason but to continue to use Montreal as a backdrop to characters and storylines. It's like they they don't want Bret now after all, perhaps if the DVD isnt going off shelves as much as they were hoping(?). Shit like that will never cater to Bret at all, and since I thought WWE apparently would just do just about anything to get Bret back in the company, it's just illogical as hell to fathom what they did tonight. I remember everyone COMPLAINING about how midcard it was! Thats probably the only thing that can save that character right now. They either need to add some edge back to his gimmick or turn him heel, or maybe both. Problem with turning him heel is that he will probably not sell as much merchandise as he would before, and thats why Cena is on top right now in the first place. haVoc 0 Report post Posted December 27, 2005 (edited) I'm willing to give this angle a chance if New Years Revolution ends similar to Survivor Series 1998. The match comes down to HBK and Cena, HBK being one of the guys who started the match and lasted to the end, only for Cena to turn heel and help Vince "screw" HBK. Or, reverse that and HBK finally turns heel and screws Cena out of the title. I'd perfer the latter. HBK finally turns heel and gets the title. It would freshen up Shawn's character and his matches, plus it gets the title off Cena, he can go on the chase and hopefully get some of his face heat back. I'm going to be at NYR so I want to see something big happen. Edited December 27, 2005 by Fear Havoc
Guest Zarock Report post Posted December 27, 2005 Ok, I missed the first 15 minutes of the show, but here are some thoughts: * Fake Flair was hilarious: Edge: So I got to ask you, why do you do it? Not Flair: IT'S BECAUSE I HAVE NO SHAME!!! FROM ASHTON KUTCHER TO ABDULLAH THE BUTCHER, I'LL RIP OFF ANYBODY!!! * The dueling chants for Cena/Shelton were great * Masters suprisingly didn't suck as hard as a lot people act like he does * Carlito was pretty funny in the ring * I'm actually pretty interested in who they're going to get to take Big Show's/Kane's titles, considering it took one of them about half a minute to squash a tag-team * HBK/McMahon was....weird. I have no idea what the hell they were trying to go for (Recreating the Austin-McMahon angle?), so I'm kinda wondering where they're going with this.
Guest heyimbro Report post Posted December 27, 2005 This is the first RAW I've watched (other than the Eddie tribute) in months -- and I didn't even see all of it. cabbageboy 0 Report post Posted December 27, 2005 Honestly, I don't think there was any overall point to the Vince/Shawn thing. It was mostly just to blather about Montreal again, fuck over Bret some more, etc. As I said, once the new GM is announced there's no particular reason for Vince to be all over TV, and at 60 years old he's not remotely going to wrestle Shawn I don't think. If it goes anywhere at all, why not have Vince throw some guys at Shawn? Could be a nice role for RVD when he gets back, as Vince's hired gun and kiss ass. MillenniumMan831 0 Report post Posted December 27, 2005 (edited) I'm hoping they hire the mom from Family Matters (Jo Marie Payton?). She can keep calling Shelton 'Eddie' by mistake. notJames 0 Report post Posted December 27, 2005 I don't know if this has been covered yet, but was there a reason given for the contract signing for the Big Show/HHH match? I only turned on RAW in bits and pieces, and when I saw that segment I couldn't understand why they did it. The match isn't for a title, so why bother doing it? I guess it was just an excuse to make HHH's match seem bigger than it really is, but really, how insecure is the Stay Puft marsHHHmallow man? Other than that, I can honestly say I paid more attention to that afterthought of a Monday Night Football game than I did to that boring episode of RAW. Don't even get me started on the whole HBK/Vince feud that seems to have started up. Ugh.
MillenniumMan831 0 Report post Posted December 27, 2005 (edited) It's a BIG matchup, ya see. Which warrants a BIG contact signing, ya see. HHH vs. BIG Show is now official for New Year's Revolution . . . that's BIG news, ya see. Seriously, I have no idea. I guess every HHH match calls for a segment w/ a parade of props and lots of red carpet. Edited December 27, 2005 by MillenniumMan831
