Giuseppe Zangara 0 Report post Posted January 6, 2006 That's amusing that anyone still attempts secreting the address of the Pit. That place is as terrible as ever. WDI was like a haven for New Yorker readers compared to those rubes.
bob_barron 0 Report post Posted January 6, 2006 But you also can't allow a single person to pull down the quality of a place and drive away potential members or cause current members to cut back on their activity. If people weren't posting in a certain folder because of Mike then good. They probably weren't going to contribute anything of substance anyway. "How many people really stopped posting here because of Mike?" Probably not many if any, but how many people said on a consistent basis that they avoided Current Events because of him, or couldn't enjoy the TNA forum anymore? We shouldn't resort to coddling people who won't post because there's someone who likes to argue at a message board. And Mike had a negative view of TNA and let it be known in that folder. Just like people have a negative view of WWE and let it be known in that folder. The double standard is pretty funny. Proto-Mikes and Anglesault supporters wouldn't help their cases, because it would no longer be, as other apologists like to say, "two people arguing when one person could easily stop," but it becomes an entire group of people, which is much more difficult to avoid. That fact that people agreed with Mike is not his fault and not a bannable offence. The idea that a person and their figurative cronies should be given free passes to put a damper on others' enjoyment of a place or pursuit because "you can just ignore them" is stupid and only allows things to get worse. If you didn't like Mike, don't go into the thread or put him on ignore. It's really not that hard. Isn't that what everyone was telling people who complain about HTQ to do? Failed Bridge 0 Report post Posted January 6, 2006 and in the end its a privately owned board where the owner can decide whom they wish to ban, so none of this really matters.

nl5xsk1 0 Report post Posted January 6, 2006 To quote the smartest poster on either board: I personally avoid the CE folder, but it's not because of Mike or anyone else. I just don't think a wrestling message board is the place that I want to go and have political conversations.

WDI was like a haven for New Yorker readers compared to those rubes. I'm not trying to secret it. I don't want to post the link of one message board while at another message board. Just trying to be polite. Actually, I think that reason is even worse than the one you gave. Goddamnit. Edited January 6, 2006 by kkktookmybabyaway

Guest Leelee Report post Posted January 7, 2006 When discussion gets absolutely nowhere and turns into (in Mike's case anyway) ad hominem tactics, it's a sound bannable offense. Take that shit to a chatroom or something if you're going to be stubborn and unreasonable. It takes two people to cause that. Yes, but if you're friends with the popular "rubes" here, it's fine. Cowboy Battlenuts 0 Report post Posted January 8, 2006 Kotz, I personally think Barron is quite the tool, but he made some good points and the lame Bill O joke didn't really make them go away. nl5xsk1 0 Report post Posted January 9, 2006 RE: my egomaniacal post from earlier, Slayer, you should have seen what I wanted to type. I was going to hype the inner beauty and Colin Ferrell-esque good looks of the unnamed poster as well, but thought that it might have been a bit over the top. Entirely accurate, but over the top none-the-less.
Guest Vitamin X Report post Posted January 10, 2006 As in "she got her pop ov"? I was thinking more along the lines of the cheap, foul-smelling vodka that comes in bulk 1.78 liter bottles, but sure that works too.
