Brett Favre 0 Report post Posted March 14, 2006 If this happened, the Redskins would have no picks on day one of the draft. I don't know if its fair. Abraham is worth more of a late 1, instead of a 2, so I guess this is why they're asking for next years 1 as well. Ramsey is going to get traded though, they just signed another QB. therealworldschampion 0 Report post Posted March 14, 2006 T.O. has officially been released. MAKE IT HAPPEN JERRUH!!! The comedy factor would be through the roof, I seriously think him and Keyshawn would be the first players to get into a fistfight in a huddle.
2GOLD 0 Report post Posted March 14, 2006 T.O. has officially been released. MAKE IT HAPPEN JERRUH!!! Why's he wearing a Michael Irvin jersey? You ain't broke TO, get a personalized #81 Cowboy jersey. ETA: Terry Glenn? God, I'm an idiot sometimes.
sfaJack 0 Report post Posted March 14, 2006 T.O. has officially been released. MAKE IT HAPPEN JERRUH!!! The only way I want to see TO with the Cowboys next year is if it's on a one-year, minimum salary deal with some big incentives. Even then I don't think he's worth it. The Cowboys are (I'm sorry to say) more than a TO away from the Super Bowl and the headaches and everything else he brings to a team just aren't worth it when you're not a lock for the Super Bowl. And TO + Keyshawn in the same locker room is just asking for trouble. Plus, he disrespected the star. You can't sign a guy that did that.
UZI Suicide 0 Report post Posted March 14, 2006 I don't care if he shits on the star if it brings a Superbowl ring. BTW, Keyshawn would probably be released if they signed T.O.
UZI Suicide 0 Report post Posted March 14, 2006 Dallas radio is saying Keyshawn has been released. Although, that doesn't really mean T.O. is coming, because they probably weren't going to pick up the $1 million option on Key either way.
the pinjockey 0 Report post Posted March 14, 2006 They released the details on the Darren Howard signing. "In reality, this is either a four-year deal worth $12.6 million or a five-year deal worth $17.1 million. Either way, it averages out to less than $3.5 million per year" I can't believe they got him that cheap. I know he is coming off a down year, but in this market 3 million gets you next to nothing. I think they are going to have to sign a Pickett and/or Arrington/Peterson to big money just for the sake of getting over the salary floor (not that would be horrible to pick them up anyway). naiwf 0 Report post Posted March 14, 2006 I hope T.O. becomes the clubhouse cancer we all know and love since that would mean he'd kill off a second of our NFC East rivals in consecutive seasons. Go T.O. go!
Kahran Ramsus 0 Report post Posted March 14, 2006 That makes a lot of sense, much more than the talking heads who'd been thinking of Green Bay grabbing him.. I think that, especially with the release of Na'il Diggs, the Pack would probably make a run at a much better Ohio State linebacker, A.J. Hawk. I'd be surprised if they didn't take Hawk at this point, and he should be available at #5.
Brett Favre 0 Report post Posted March 14, 2006 The Jets sign Kimo von Oelhoffen.
jimmy no nose 0 Report post Posted March 14, 2006 The Von Oelhoffen deal was ridiculous. I was thinking either the Steelers bring him back for a low money deal or he retires, but he ended up getting a 3 year deal with a $3 million signing bonus. Steelers sign safety Ryan Clark from Washington, which means Chris Hope will definitely be heading elsewhere.
Lt. Al Giardello 0 Report post Posted March 14, 2006 If the Eagles get a good #1 WR, and another good starting defensive player(Peterson, Arrington, Rocky Bernard etc.) I'll be happy. We can waste our 1st rounder on a O-Line.
the pinjockey 0 Report post Posted March 15, 2006 I wouldn't be against bringing in Keyshawn for a year or two, given that a 2nd or 3rd round pick is spent on a WR (Maurice Stovall). He would be a nice compliment to the deep game of Pinkston and the all around game of Brown.
Lt. Al Giardello 0 Report post Posted March 15, 2006 I wouldn't be against bringing in Keyshawn for a year or two, given that a 2nd or 3rd round pick is spent on a WR (Maurice Stovall). He would be a nice compliment to the deep game of Pinkston and the all around game of Brown. We don't need to draft another WR, consider we got Brown, Greg Lewis, and Pinkston whom are all above average WR's, just not #1 WR's. In the case of Reggie Brown, he's not a #1 WR YET. Going from TO to Keyshawn? No thank you, I'd rather make a trade for a younger Javon Walker or if the Bills release him Eric Moulds(Who's better then Keyshawn).
the pinjockey 0 Report post Posted March 15, 2006 I'd prefer either of those two as well, but if Moulds is getting pissy about the 8 million or so that he is due to earn god only knows what he is going to want on the open market. Walker I'd ask about and see what GB is looking for, but if they want a ransome I would pass. And I really soured on Lewis over this past year to the point where I don't think you can count on him for anything. I think he needs to be replaced in the long term plans. NoCalMike 0 Report post Posted March 15, 2006 As a Redskins fan, I really do hope TO ends up with the Cowboys. First, I can't wait for Dallas fans to claim "this time it will be different" with a straight face. Second, TO didn't do dick against the Redskins Secondary with the Eagles, and with the Skins secondary being even deeper now with the signing of Archuleta(and assuming Sean Taylor doesn't go to jail) I don't think TO would do dick against the Skins as a Cowboy either. He might be good for a couple Ws, but when the smoke clears he will be the same old TO. Bledsoe is also a downgrade from McNabb, and I can already see TO yelling and jawing with Drew after a pass sails over his head on 3rd down.
NoCalMike 0 Report post Posted March 15, 2006 I think it is questionable that they have made great moves. Archuleta is a joke at that money and now they have two safeties who are better towards the line of scrimmage, you do have to cover people downfield eventually. I hope you aren't referring to Sean Taylor here as being better on the line of scrimmage. He is not Royverrated Williams. The man can cover. You must not have seen a lot of footage of him. The guy covers the span of the field amazingly.
NoCalMike 0 Report post Posted March 15, 2006 I have no idea how the Skins are under the cap either, although, they don't have to pay any big money in the draft. They have one second round draft pick(that they may trade) and then just 4th and above. 4th round players and up don't command a lot of money. I can't say I'm not happy with the moves, but my god Snyder is out of his mind.(I've only been a big Skins fan for about 2 years, so I'm not really used to him just blowing money away). They've made some great moves, but I also have NO IDEA how it will all fit under the cap. Skins already also signed TE Christian Fauria and just recently former 49 DE Andre Carter. This is how the Skins stay under the cap. Look at the salary numbers. Don't listen to people who say "they are making 5 million a season" Archuleta 2006 585000.00 2007 595000.00 2008 1000000.00 2009 4000000.00 2010 5000000.00 2011 6000000.00 2012 5000000.00 Randel El 2006 585000.00 2007 595000.00 2008 820000.00 2009 4000000.00 2010 4250000.00 2011 4500000.00 2012 5000000.00 Their salaries balloon in 2008, but I am guessing they will either restructure or be gone when that happens. And that folks is how you structure contracts in the Salary Cap Era. Don't hate on the Redskins Front Office.
Lt. Al Giardello 0 Report post Posted March 15, 2006 Bledsoe is also a downgrade from McNabb, and I can already see TO yelling and jawing with Drew after a pass sails over his head on 3rd down. The guy covers the span of the field amazingly. No, he is much better than Roy Williams. I know he has the athleticism to cover the field, but any time I have seen him play he looks for the big hit and is trying to make the big play. It isn't that he can't cover like Williams, he just seems to play a little too aggresively, at least that I've seen. If he gets reigned in a little he is a monster. Combine that with Archuleta, who can't cover period, and that could be a problem. Disclaimer: the above is assuming that Taylor isn't spending 40 years in jail. SpikeFayeJettEdBebop 0 Report post Posted March 15, 2006 I don't think Taylor will end up doing any time. I hope not at least. And yes, he's very aggressive and does tend to play towards the line every chance he gets, however, he certainly can cover pretty damn well
teke184 0 Report post Posted March 15, 2006 For the first time since Katrina, I've been walking on sunshine ever since I heard that the Saints signed Drew Brees. Injury or not, Brees is a proven winner who has good instincts, something which has been sorely lacking during the tenure of Aaron "I'll get sacked for a 30-yard loss" Brooks. His signing also means the Saints don't have to blow the #2 pick on Matt Leinart, as they can instead use it on D'Brickashaw Ferguison, AJ Hawk or, hopefully, stoke a bidding war between the Jets, Titans, and Raiders to see who gets their choice of QBs. If the Saints are savvy enough with trading the pick, they could end up netting a good amount of extra picks to fill out the O-Line, LB corps, and defensive backfield. Now if they could only convince Lavar Arrington to consider New Orleans over New York or see if Julian Peterson is in good enough condition to warrant a nice offer... Can't speak for the rest of us obviously, but I'm one Dallas fan who does NOT want TO anywhere near Valley Ranch. naiwf 0 Report post Posted March 15, 2006 McGinest signs with Browns, reunites with Crennel By JOE MILICIA, Associated Press Writer March 15, 2006 CLEVELAND (AP) -- Free agent linebacker Willie McGinest signed a three-year contract with the Cleveland Browns on Wednesday, reuniting him with coach Romeo Crennel. McGinest visited Cleveland on Tuesday and reached the deal Wednesday without visiting any other teams, said Steve Caric, spokesman for McGinest's agent, Gary Uberstine. McGinest, cut by New England after 12 seasons in a salary cap move, will earn $12 million with the Browns, including $6 million in guarantees and bonuses. . The 34-year-old McGinest spent seven seasons with Crennel in New England, including four with Crennel as defensive coordinator. Recently signed nose tackle Ted Washington, who played with McGinest on the Patriots' 2003 championship team, had said he would encourage his former teammate to come to Cleveland. The Browns, with nearly $25 million to spend on free agents, have been one of the most active teams this offseason, signing center LeCharles Bentley, wide receiver Joe Jurevicius, offensive lineman Kevin Shaffer, punter Dave Zastudil and Washington. But they had yet to address their pass rushing, an area general manager Phil Savage listed as a priority, until signing McGinest. The two-time Pro Bowler would have carried a salary cap figure of more than $7 million for next season in New England. He has 78 career sacks, including six last season, and is the NFL's postseason sacks leader with 16. I guess that was a good pick up for the Browns. It will be weird seeing that he's not going to be a Pat next year.
