iggymcfly 0 Report post Posted February 15, 2006 Is it just me or is Curtis the most boring, generic character ever? Chase was way more interesting as the "top field agent when Jack's not around".
the max 0 Report post Posted February 15, 2006 Curtis at least appears to have some ability to work on his own and lead others. Chase was a strong field agent, but wasn't a very strong character. The most boring and generic character ever was a three way tie between the Warner family in season two.
Edwin MacPhisto 0 Report post Posted February 15, 2006 Curtis is kind of boring, but I enjoy him, especially after he broke out of being detained by all those guys last year after Talk Soup girl lured him there. He was kind of Black Bauer for a while.
chirs3 0 Report post Posted February 16, 2006 I think Curtis is one of the better secondary characters, but they really should give him more to do than just playing backup for Bauer.
Ripper 0 Report post Posted February 16, 2006 Chase was the most annoying character ever to me. Yes, even more annoying than Kim. Kim was annoying because her subplots were wasting screen time in season 2(she was kinda instrumental in the subplots of season one). Chase got just the right amount of screen time and spent every moment pissing me off to no end. I personally didn't like Curtis at the start, but his breakout from capture made him baddass. Thus he is cool with me. Kinda like the new Daniel Dae Kim of the show. He is just kinda there, but it is kickass that he is there.
Guest Fook Report post Posted February 21, 2006 Logan needs to grow a spine. I don't like how they killed off Erwich. It seems it's 24 tradition to introduce a new villain by having him kill the old one. Lynn's getting mad with power. I love it. I don't like how the Crazy First Lady thinks she matters now in the decision making process, especially those concerning national security. If the terrorists are successful with their attack next week, it'll probably be the end for Aaron.
the max 0 Report post Posted February 21, 2006 Another "build" episode that was centered a lot on secondary characters. After Nathanson died, Jack basically drove around LA for the rest of the episode, despite having a team supposedly looking for him. I hope that by the end of the day, Logan either dies or gets bitchslapped by Mike. Mike is essentially required to make all of Logan's tough decisions and deal with Logan's wife's shit. Lynn flipping out should prove fun for the coming weeks, as he slowly descends into madness. I hope to god we get to see Curtis take on all of the rent-a-cop CTU security next week Next week looks like a good episode. It seems that they've been building to things a lot, so we're either going to have a hell of a second half of the season (ala season 3) or a giant letdown and goosechase (ala season 4). They need to get focused on what the main issue is. Is it terrorism against this country? What about the canisters? What about the team that killed Nathanson coming after Jack? What will become of Tony? There are a lot of questions that are still unanswered, which is unlike past seasons where they would define the evil and try to rationalize it. This seems like it's being written by two separate writing teams.
BlackFlagg 0 Report post Posted February 21, 2006 the new villain's the Warlock baby~!
SpikeFayeJettEdBebop 0 Report post Posted February 21, 2006 Def. a filler episode, not too much happened. Really hoping next week is better. Certainly looks good for next week though.
Edwin MacPhisto 0 Report post Posted February 21, 2006 Haha, the new villain is the Eurotrash scientist from Arachnophobia. Awesome. He's like shitty Jeremy Irons. Really dug this episode, though a little disappointed they cut off all the loose ends from the first third of the season so quickly. I would have been really interested in Nathanson being more than the "GIVE ME THE CHIP AS YOU DIE" character, which we already did in Season 2 quite clearly. I hope that Lynn continues to go nuts and eventually Jack has to do all this shit without help from CTU, because that would be a big difference from the way the past few seasons have run. packwingfn 0 Report post Posted February 21, 2006 It is so funny, I was more upset that Agent Pierce entered the limo instead of Martha. Thats not because I dont believe in Martha, I certainly do but I guess I would hate to see another first season star killed off.
chirs3 0 Report post Posted February 21, 2006 (edited) I still say Martha's dirty. Nathanson said someone else in the Government was involved... Logan's too stupid, and there's no way it's Aaron... plus, the fact that Palmer got assassinated after calling her is fishy - he didn't show she was dirty, so when he called her, she's all "Shit, Palmer knows something, I gotta kill 'em". She's operating on a higher level than Cummings, so he didn't know about her, and she manipulated the situation to get him to delete the record of the phone call because it led to her. Just a guess. Anyway, I liked tonight's episode, despite Nathanson's uselessness. Lynn going crazy is good, and I was giddy at the prospect of CTU torturing either Buchanan or Audrey (which may still happen, depending on how far Lynn's willing to go). And they're doing the best they can with Crazy Druggy Sister, making it about the keycard. Question: Erwich kinda looked like Badger, from Firefly. Him? Or no? RavishingRickRudo 0 Report post Posted February 21, 2006 It kinda sucks they killed off Nathanson in the same episode he became relevant.
starvenger 0 Report post Posted February 21, 2006 Haha, the new villain is the Eurotrash scientist from Arachnophobia. Awesome. He's like shitty Jeremy Irons. So that would make him the really shitty Alan Rickman as far as Eurotrash villains go? And they're doing the best they can with Crazy Druggy Sister, making it about the keycard. Well you knew there had to be more to it than "Lynn can't even control his crazy druggie sister, so how can he control CTU", right?
Edwin MacPhisto 0 Report post Posted February 21, 2006 Question: Erwich kinda looked like Badger, from Firefly. Him? Or no? Yep. The actor's name is Mark Sheppard. I thought it was really funny that he got stabbed to death in the opening scene, and it was only after that that his name appeared in the credits.
Guest Fook Report post Posted February 21, 2006 Speculation time! Someone else from the government is involved. Who is it? I'd still like to see an EVIL PRESIDENT~!, but I kinda doubt that now. He's spineless, not evil. It's probably someone we haven't met yet.
Guest Brian Report post Posted February 21, 2006 It could definately be the president still, as it may just all be an act because he seemed really gung-ho about letting the terrorists get at the Russian president, and if he dies, I'd really like to see how the cover-up goes. Though, wouldn't Palmer's death still completely be clogging up the news, or is it because he's black?

Though, wouldn't Palmer's death still completely be clogging up the news, or is it because he's black? Yeah, you'd think someone killing the first black President would still be the top news story over President signs worthless treaty with Russians. Then again, the only station we see is FOX NEWS so maybe that explains it all.
Ripper 0 Report post Posted February 22, 2006 I noticed that too. Plus it wasn't even on the News ticker. I would call bullshit on that one.

RedJed 0 Report post Posted February 25, 2006 Regarding someone in the government who is pulling strings, there is going to be alot of new characters still coming into the fold soon, and a few recurring ones from past seasons, including The Sec. of Defense Heller - my guess is that he may be this person they are speculating about. Also, they are doing a 2 hour show in a little over a week, here is some info on some stuff upcoming, possible spoilers for those who dont want to see what upcoming storylines/characters are approaching Elisha Cuthbert and William Devane return, joined by newcomers C. Thomas Howell (The Outsiders) and Ray Wise (Good Night, And Good Luck) as "Day Five" intensifies on 24. The nonstop fifth season continues Mondays (9:00-10:00 PM ET/PT) and will clock in with a special two-hour event Monday, March 6 (8:00-10:00 PM ET/PT) on FOX. In a day where he was implicated in the President's assassination, held hostage at the airport, and is following leads to terrorists armed with 20 canisters of military-grade nerve gas, Jack Bauer (Kiefer Sutherland) has had little time to put the pieces of his personal life back together. Recently reunited with former lover Audrey Raines (Kim Raver), Bauer enlists her help to reestablish communication with his daughter, Kim (Cuthbert). When Kim reenters Jack's life, she does so with her trusted friend Barry Landes (Howell), a therapist who attempts to simmer down a boiling situation. Meanwhile, leadership issues continue to tangle the Administration, and Vice President Hal Gardner (Wise) and Secretary of Defense James Heller (Devane) join the cause against the terrifying situation. The nonstop season accelerates with a special two-hour event, "Day 5: 5:00 PM-6:00 PM"/"Day 5: 6:00 PM-7:00 PM," airing Monday, March 6 (8:00-10:00 PM ET/PT). Agent Bauer deals with Christopher Henderson (Peter Weller), the defected federal agent who recruited Jack to counterterrorist work more than a decade ago, along with his wife Miriam (JoBeth Williams). The back-to-back episodes also feature President Logan (Gregory Itzin) muddling through more intense and iffy decisions while CTU commanders Lynn McGill (Sean Astin) and Bill Buchanan (James Morrison) redefine roles. Mik 0 Report post Posted February 26, 2006 All I can say after reading that is that Christopher Hendersen must be a true badass. There's a reason Jack flinches upon hearing his name. He learned from the best? That preview actually looks exciting.
mike546 0 Report post Posted February 28, 2006 AARON FUCKING PIERCE!
BlackFlagg 0 Report post Posted February 28, 2006 Don't fuck with Agent Pierce~! Good episode, was a nice little bit of continuity having Henderson be one of the agents brought down by the inside investigation Jack was involved in that was mentioned back in season 1 2 hour episode next week, hells jyeah
the max 0 Report post Posted February 28, 2006 Excellent show tonight. Peter Weller was excellent as Henderson, a man with a grudge and a definite tie to this. Lots of fun at CTU as well. I think we're going to see the tie in with Lynn getting his keycard stolen next week at some point. Am I the only one thinking that Jack's gonna be pissed that Audrey told Kim that he was still alive? Jack seemed to make it clear that he wanted to tell Kim himself...could be a fun ride there Next week: starts at 8: TWO NEW EPISODES! Hurrah.
Guest Fook Report post Posted February 28, 2006 Pierce brought the house down tonight. Awesome. Everyone at CTU getting together to usurp Lynn was well done, but I figured they'd resolve the whole druggie sister storyline before they took Lynn out of power. The whole praying scene with Logan and Novick was cheesy. It felt like they were trying too hard to say "This is a significant emotional moment", but it just felt flat to me. Not even a bomb at close range can kill Jack Bauer. Henderson has no chance.
KingPK 0 Report post Posted February 28, 2006 Really, the guy recruits Jack, obviously knowing what the guy is all about, and thinks that just locking him in a room with a bomb will kill him? This is Jack Fucking Bauer we're talking about here. Great ep. tonight. This is the first season I've watched from the beginning and I'm hooked. I'm going to pick up the rest of the seasons on DVD to catch up.
bobobrazil1984 0 Report post Posted February 28, 2006 Thought this was a kickass episode. There's was tons of ownage tonight. Curtis OWNING Lynn. Agent PIerce owning the terrorists. CTU owning the president. and of course Jack fuckin Bauer surviving being locked in a room with a bomb. Putting the bomb next to the door that just got sealed shut and hiding under the floor? Genius. Ripper 0 Report post Posted February 28, 2006 Goddamn did I mark for Aaron. I thought he was dead which had me low and then BAM paragigm shift when he woke up and IMMEDIATELY went to Secret Service Agent mode and kicked ass. Aaron Pierce has no time for seconds of disorientation after being blown the fuck up. I don't think the prayer moment was ment to be touching or emotional. I think if you listened hard enough you could hear everyone watching the show call him a bitch at that moment. Mike wanted no parts of it. I think it was shown to make Logan look weaker
KingPK 0 Report post Posted February 28, 2006 Yeah, there's GOTTA be a reason that Logan is being made to be so goddamn inept as President. I mean, make a fucking decision on your own for once! I mean, this could just be a veiled shot at Bush (I don't really know if the producers dislike him or something).
