WWE drops one talentless hoss, gains another...

This cant be a good pick up because TNA turned the guy down. When the competition gives you "talent" he either sucks or they are up to something.

It's a little silly to call a guy with a background in amatuer wrestling, judo, free style wrestling, football, sambo and rugby as well as a background in theatre and acting a "talentless hoss" with absolutely nothing to back it up. If I were handpicking the background I wanted for a developmental wrestler, I don't think I could do much better than Prudius' resume.

Only time will tell though of course.

Being sarcastic and negative is what this board appears to be all about. Must not be cool to think this guy might actually turn out to be entertaining.

If WWE actually knew how to book tall guys with limited talent, we'd be more optimistic.

They seem to be doing alright with that Batista fellow.

And that suttering gimmick worked wonders for Matt Morgan. WWE hit it right once in a while with giants, but they miss far more than they hit.

Well they had supposedly wanted him to quit from the second he was brought up, and the gimmick was a device to push that further along. They have managed to get more mileage out of Marty Wright with The Boogeyman gimmick than anyone ever expected, and even though Blaster Lashley isn't blowing the roof off, they have protected him ok for the most part.

I'll agree that they miss quite a bit across the board. If he's brought up with a good idea in place for him, theoretically he sounds like the type of guy who should flourish. If he's brought up with a terrible gimmick, he'll probably go the way of everyone else with talent who has their career ruined by WWE (Morgan, Rico, The Bashams, Jillian Hall etc.) I would assume.

I just hope the poor guy doesn't get the frozen Nazi joke gimmick. Other than that, I'll reserve judgement until he actually gets in the ring. And of course TNA would turn him down, the guy is too freaking huge and dragging a match out of him would have been a problem.

When did TNA ever turn him down? I think those are just rumors because Jerry Jarrett brought him to WWE, I doubt TNA ever went out of their way to look at someone with no training, as TNA doesn't have any training/developmental grounds. The only reason WWE.com followed this whole signing was because Jarrett was involved and it seemingly is a stick to the competition if your champ's father is bringing prospects to Vince instead of Dixie Carter and TNA.

So which is it? No interest or no knowledge? come on now it can't be both - if they've got no knowledge how can they even decide if they're interested or not?

if they got no intrest in him they must know about him.

and I'll personally adopt a "wait and see if he even makes it to TV" attitude.

You DO remember the first thing they did with him was put a metal box around his neck, right? Ignoring their initial blunder, they put him with Evolution and jobbed him out for a good year+. It was only until late 04 that HHH decided that Orton had failed and he needed someone new to feud with and there was Batista, so unless this dude becomes friends with Trips, I don't think the comparison is necessarily valid, unless you expect to see a delayed effort it handling him properly rather than something more immediate. I'm not saying the WWE will botch it either, though odds are they will given their track record, I just don't think Batista is a good example.

Oddly enough, this dude is with the same talent agency as one Thea Vidale.

Even a stopped clock is right twice a day....

I have a feeling Heidenreich will be back within the year, not that it will do WWE any good.

I'm not gonna piss on this guy this early. He's got the wrestling/martial arts background, so it shouldn't take him too long to adjust to pro-wrestling. If the WWE makes him do the generic big-guy stuff and cuts him off from actually doing what he knows how to do, though, it'll flop like a fish.

That's what I was thinking. People sure are quick to pull the trigger. I think we should at least be on a "wait and see" basis. Afterall, he can't be worse than Snitsky, Tomko, Heidenreich, Mark Henry & The Boogeyman. Hell, for all we know, talent wise, he could be the next Brock Lesnar.

Didn't Nathan Jones have a martial arts background?

Maybe he did, maybe he didn't, it's irrelevant to the point. The point is he's got more on his resume than height >6'6, as in there's some potential. Shit on him when some actual knowledge of his (lack of) ability starts rolling in.
