snuffbox Posted January 24, 2006 Report Posted January 24, 2006 Theyre consistently terrible...the good moments are very rare exceptions.
Art Sandusky Posted January 24, 2006 Report Posted January 24, 2006 You could just do what I do, which is continue to watch it and keep up with the latest news or whatever, but don't discuss it on the internet. There was wrestling before the internet, it's not like it's a necessary part of the fan experience. You know very well that people aren't going to like anything, so don't worry about it. Let them all be unhappy. Adopting this policy has made the product much more tolerable as well, since I'm not hearing constant negative reactions anymore.
KingPK Posted January 24, 2006 Report Posted January 24, 2006 Some people just arent smart enough to see the huge entertainment value in recycled ten year old Will Ferrell skits, Vince 'devils advocate' Mcmahon, and a great wrestler being wasted as a prop for an obese actress. While that's certainly true, what about all the other stuff? Mysterio Vs. Henry was a decent match. Kurt Angle is World Champion again. MNM are tearing it up lately in the ring. HBK had a pretty solid '05. Triple H's TV had dwindled dramatically. John Cena lost the belt after many people screamed that he was bland and boring. The TLC match on last weeks Raw was pretty watchable. There's tons more. If we go back a further, we have Benoit and Guerrero World Title Reigns. No even ever thought either of those would happen. The good stuff is there people just don't want to be vocal about that. That's all true as well, and I've been starting to gain an interest in SD again lately, but I just don't have the confidence that they can keep this up past WrestleMania. They always seem to get their shit (relatively) together around this time because 'Mania's the biggie, but after that, who knows? I have no clue if Edge will stay in the main event, if RAW will turn into the HHH show again should he win the belt and we go back to the same tired crap that turned me off from the product in the first place. I do agree that, if people can't stand RAW so much, then just stop watching for a while. Suffering through a sea of crap to find one or two pearls really isn't worth it.
Guest Desperate Housewife Posted January 24, 2006 Report Posted January 24, 2006 Wow. I opened a bit of a hornet's nest really. I love the WWE's product. You can feel however the hell you feel about it. But don't dare try and get me to change my opinion, or ruin the product for me. And the OAO threads ruin it for me sometimes. Thats why I posted the initial post
Zack Malibu Posted January 24, 2006 Report Posted January 24, 2006 I'll tell you, the one thing that got under my skin last night was Triple H not even helping to put the new heel champion over. That charity case/I don't make new stars speech was a little too close to the "real" Triple H than the character. Granted, he's been persona non grata for years now, but enough already.

It works both ways.
Guest Desperate Housewife Posted January 24, 2006 Report Posted January 24, 2006 As I said, I was only following it because I couldn't watch Raw. It was ruined because of idiots declaring they were never watching the show again because of Chris Masters or The Spirit Squad

It was ruined because of idiots declaring they were never watching the show again because of Chris Masters or The Spirit Squad someone else's opinion is affecting you that badly? Better start setting that VCR/DVR!
Guest Desperate Housewife Posted January 24, 2006 Report Posted January 24, 2006 Not affecting me. Just bugging the piss out of me
BruiserKC Posted January 24, 2006 Report Posted January 24, 2006 Not affecting me. Just bugging the piss out of me You're obviously affected or you wouldn't be scolding us like the dog that just wet your floor. You have the right to your opinion...but we have the right to ours.
Guest Princess Leena Posted January 24, 2006 Report Posted January 24, 2006 If you don't like it, then find another board. I too find the people who are constantly negative to get annoying. I mean, there's lots to be negative about in WWE... but, it's cool to be negative here about WWE, which is why I feel many people do it.
Guest Desperate Housewife Posted January 24, 2006 Report Posted January 24, 2006 Because I like the WWE? Because I say, "Wow, this Spirit Squad stuff - it's five minutes out a 2 hour television show. Huh" At least it's new. If they gave that five minutes to Snitsky or a HHH interview you'd bitch about that instead. I choose to look at the positive aspects of everything the WWE does. In this case it's giving 5 small, bland interchangeable workers TV time they wouldn't ordinarily get on the flagship TV time
Slayer Posted January 24, 2006 Report Posted January 24, 2006 I haven't watched in over a year, but still occasionally skim posts in the top folder to see what the E is up to now ...then I say to myself "I'm so glad I don't watch this shit anymore"
Carnival Posted January 24, 2006 Report Posted January 24, 2006 "you suck" was directed at leena, just to be a negative little bitch.

snuffbox Posted January 24, 2006 Report Posted January 24, 2006 It was new in 1996 when Will Ferrel and whatshername started doing it... Are the marks just ten years behind like Vince?
Guest Desperate Housewife Posted January 24, 2006 Report Posted January 24, 2006 Mondo's too old Mitchell and Nemeth are virtually interchangeable Doane is being shoved in the gimmick to punish him for getting a big head in OVW Jeter.......I've never really seen the big deal with. Heyman pushed him, nothing else
Zack Malibu Posted January 24, 2006 Report Posted January 24, 2006 ...and the reports of Doane getting a big head in OVW came from where? Between him being from the area and me knowing a lot of guys who have worked with him, down to my own dealings with OVW for work, I've never once heard that one.
snuffbox Posted January 24, 2006 Report Posted January 24, 2006 desperatehousewife is a journalist...he knows.
Zack Malibu Posted January 24, 2006 Report Posted January 24, 2006 Also (and I hate replying to myself), how do you figure Mondo's age has anything to do with how he's being used? We're not talking like the man would be WWE World Champion, yet there's a 41 year old guy who just had to give that belt up.
Guest Vitamin X Posted January 24, 2006 Report Posted January 24, 2006 I posted an 'I quit' a couple years ago. I think I've watched WWE twice since. I don't know how people can take it. The only chance of seeing a good match is PPV, and they're, what, $40 now? Please. Ditto. Only time I remember watching WWE in the past couple years was the ECW pay per view they had last year, and that's just about it.
Guest Desperate Housewife Posted January 25, 2006 Report Posted January 25, 2006 That wasn't a real WWE Show.
Guest Vitamin X Posted January 25, 2006 Report Posted January 25, 2006 Then maybe that's why I didn't mind watching it.
Guest FromBeyondTheGrave Posted January 25, 2006 Report Posted January 25, 2006 Mondo's too old Mike Mondo was born in 1983, which means he'll turn 23 this year, you fucking moron.
Guest Desperate Housewife Posted January 25, 2006 Report Posted January 25, 2006 Who cares - they'll probably all be released in six months when the gimmick bombs
bob_barron Posted January 25, 2006 Report Posted January 25, 2006 WCW died because they didn't have Hardcore Holly.
Guest Desperate Housewife Posted January 25, 2006 Report Posted January 25, 2006 Where is Hardcore Holly? I'd certainly buy him as being in the Rumble more than friggin Sylvain.
Carnival Posted January 25, 2006 Report Posted January 25, 2006 Mondo's too old Mike Mondo was born in 1983, which means he'll turn 23 this year, you fucking moron. I love this.
