the NEW new chat thread

Recommended Posts

Jesus, Austin, you don't know how to make a chat thread do you? You gotta have a link to the script and the server in it.

Our home is Phazenet, so after downloading the script, type the following in the status window...

/server irc.phazenet.com

...and you should be fine. (Y)

>>> http://users.chariot.net.au/~cirillo/swfscriptbf.zip <<<

Above is the link for the latest chat script, if you do not have it, please download it and use it.

Bump this thread whenever you're alone in chat to let everyone on the boards know you want some company.

alright excuse my ignorance here - but do I need anything other than the script? isn't there some sort of chat software/program/application/doo-hickey you need too?

Come watch me idle if you're bored.

Slightly off-topic, though... Do we have an AIM thread buried around here, or no? Does anyone even use AIM anymore? ;)

Come chat with me, and Manson, and Matt Myers, and Thoth*!

* - The previously mentioned people excepting myself will probably not be in chat by the time you get there.

Also, Fury, there is an out of date AIM thread around somewhere, I might try to bump it...I mean, I bet that Kibagami has gone through at least two names since the thread was last updated.

So, I'd like to come to chat, but everytime I try, I get this lovely message.

Connecting to irc.phazenet.com

Firewall: Closed Connection

Any ideas folks?

I double checked my anti-Virus and the blocking of mIRC is stopped, and the only thing I can think of is that the University firewall is blocking things. Any ideas on how to get around it?

Help, if you please.

When I attempt to connect, I get a message:

*** Connecting to 69.31.78.146 (6667)

-

*** Unable to connect (Invalid argument)

No matter what server I use..

What gives?

Type /server irc.phazenet.com, and that should reconnect you.

If that doesn't work, try /server flatlands.phazenet.com, jokerswild.phazenet.com or excelsior.phazenet.com

Same shit, different day.

With flatlands.phazenet.com I got 'unable to resolve IRC server', but the rest was the same.
