Kahran Ramsus 0 Report post Posted March 6, 2006 The academy actually did something right for a fucking change. I thought they did last year too with MDB over Aviator.
strummer 0 Report post Posted March 6, 2006 it's going to be hard to adjust to the fact that Sandra Bullock was in a movie that won Best Picture
jwpeer 0 Report post Posted March 6, 2006 I've decided that Lion's Gate releases the best movies. I've not seen a bad movie they've distributed. Even their bad movies, having something good about them

bobobrazil1984 0 Report post Posted March 6, 2006 did they cut off the mic??? It's Best Picture for fuck's sake. if you're so worried about time, how about not having 50 million montages. winner of best picture deserves to have a few minutes to spill their guts. Hawk 34 0 Report post Posted March 6, 2006 it's going to be hard to adjust to the fact that Sandra Bullock was in a movie that won Best Picture Michelle Williams, was in Brokeback Mountain. That would have been equally odd.
Hawk 34 0 Report post Posted March 6, 2006 Odds on favorite? No. Watch any of the "expert" shows, Crash was being pushed for awhile. Brokeback's momentum slowed down enough for Crash to pass it.
Epic Reine 0 Report post Posted March 6, 2006 it's going to be hard to adjust to the fact that Sandra Bullock was in a movie that won Best Picture Even harder to adjust to LUDACRIS being in it. And Million Dollar Baby was ok, Sideways should have won last year.
Kardo 0 Report post Posted March 6, 2006 I don't get the love for Crash. All it was to me was, Racism is bad, Racism is bad, Racism is bad, don't you get it already, Racism is bad. For 2 hours. It's nice for a movie to have a message, but that movie just kept drilling it over and over.
strummer 0 Report post Posted March 6, 2006 off topic, but can't Sandra Bullock and Keunu Reeves just admit they are banging each other instead of doing the "LOL we're just friends" bit.
Guest Vitamin X Report post Posted March 6, 2006 Wow, the best movie actually won. Indeed, what he said. I thought this exact thing when I saw Crash, but figured for some reason or another, that it wouldn't even get nominated, but good lord, this was a great show with very deserving winners. Although, I would've had Michael Kahn win for Editing, but that's just me being picky, I guess.
Hawk 34 0 Report post Posted March 6, 2006 That was probably, the most enjoyable Academy Award show I've sat through. Great opening introduction, good monolouge, Stewart brought the comedy all night long...36 Mafia, Joaquin's hissy fit, Clooney's awesome one-liner at the start and most importantly, the right people won. Hank Kingsley 0 Report post Posted March 6, 2006 Agreed on the "great show" sentiment. I would've liked "Good Night, and Good Luck" to win something, but at least Clooney got recognized.
Ravenbomb 0 Report post Posted March 6, 2006 Good Night, And Good Luck. was my first choice, but it was really close between it and Crash, so no complaints. Joaquin's hissy fit?

CBright7831 0 Report post Posted March 6, 2006 Did it rival Bill Murray's reaction a few years ago? Wow, what a night for upsets. My two favorite upsets would have to be "It's Hard Out Here For A Pimp" winning Best Original Song and the other, of course, would have to be Crash taking home Best Picture. 2GOLD 0 Report post Posted March 6, 2006 I don't blame the guy for being pissed. The reason's not to give him the award were horrible. Because Foxx won for Ray isn't a reason, it's an embarassment. Least it went to Hoffman and not Ledger doing a Trace Adkins impersonation. And yes, Tony Danza was in CRASH.

Guest El Satanico Report post Posted March 6, 2006 Of the best pictures, I've only seen Crash and Brokeback. I liked both alot, so I won't complain, but I felt Brokeback had more of that epic Oscar feel to it. I plan on seeing the other three, and I get the feeling one of them was a better choice.
