Si82 Posted March 6, 2006 Report Posted March 6, 2006 http://www.tnawrestling.com/fullnews.php?home=514 Samoa Joe is on the cover of the upcoming Pro Wrestling Illustrated magazine, set to hit newsstands on March 28. Speaking of Joe, we’ve got a rough list of matches that will be included on his upcoming “Unstoppable: The Best of Samoa Joe” DVD, coming out this summer. Depending on the total length of matches and bonus footage we’re planning, we may have to cut some of the “iMPACT!” matches (see below). TNA producers interviewed The Samoan Submission Machine for over an hour last week in Orlando for the DVD on a wide variety of subjects including growing up, his family, his background and more. There are also tentative plans for bonus footage featuring Joe training at the New Japan dojo in Los Angeles. The match listing thus far for the DVD is as follows: Slammiversary – June 2005 Samoa Joe’s debut vs. Sonjay Dutt No Surrender – July 2005 Samoa Joe vs. Chris Sabin The 2005 Super X Cup Tournament Samoa Joe vs. Sonjay Dutt (First Round) Samoa Joe vs. Alex Shelley (Semi Finals) Samoa Joe vs. AJ Styles in the finals at August 2005’s “Sacrifice” Unbreakable – September 2005 Three-Way Match For the X Championship AJ Styles vs. The Fallen Angel vs. Samoa Joe Bound For Glory – October 2005 Samoa Joe vs. Jushin “Thunder” Liger Turning Point – December 2005 X Division Championship Match AJ Styles vs. Samoa Joe Final Resolution – January 2006 X Division Championship Match Samoa Joe vs. The Fallen Angel Against All Odds – February 2006 Three-Way Match For the X Championship Samoa Joe vs. The Fallen Angel vs. AJ Styles Plus, “iMPACT!” matches featuring Samoa Joe again Delirious, The Amazing Red, Roderick Strong, Jay Lethal and Jerrelle Clark. We’ll have further information on the Samoa Joe DVD in the upcoming weeks! Looks like I picking this up when it's released.
Corey_Lazarus Posted March 6, 2006 Report Posted March 6, 2006 WAAAAAAAY too soon. Sure, he's already had plenty of awesome matches in TNA, but he hasn't even been with them for a year. It took how long to give Styles his when he'd been around since the company's conception? Jarrett and The Truth still haven't gotten one, too. Pulling the trigger too soon, TNA.
Bruce Blank Posted March 6, 2006 Report Posted March 6, 2006 Most of his Impact matches are like the same week in and week out and half his PPV matches are just extended "Impact" matches, I agree with the "too soon" comment. Maybe when he's had truely great matches with others than AJ & Daniels in TNA.
Guest Princess Leena Posted March 6, 2006 Report Posted March 6, 2006 Lol. Well, if people will pay for it... why not?
Carnival Posted March 6, 2006 Report Posted March 6, 2006 man what happened to rumors of a Jarrett DVD....I'm getting impatient.
theintensifier Posted March 6, 2006 Report Posted March 6, 2006 Eh. I would have waited a little longer on this product. I would have included the upcoming three way Ultimate X match, which Joe is going to lose, I can almost gurantee it.
hyperchord24 Posted March 6, 2006 Report Posted March 6, 2006 I like Joe, I just don't get to watch Impact or the ppvs, so a DVD is great. However, if they were able to do a joint ROH DVD to include those matches, that would be great. Also, I don't know which fed this was in, but that match with Kobashi would be nice. But that's if we lived in a perfect world.

But that's if we lived in a perfect world. Yeah, ROH will let TNA use it's top selling match so TNA can make money off of it. They might use some of the same talent (and that amount is dropping), but they aren't working together. ROH, has two best of Joe's volumes but either include his big matches (Punk triology, Kobashi, Danielson...)
Zack Malibu Posted March 6, 2006 Report Posted March 6, 2006 They did say this was due for a summer release, which means it's at least 3-4 months away, maybe more. IMO, that's acceptable, because it can highlight Joe's year full of dominance. Plus, why not strike while the iron is hot?
slimm44 Posted March 6, 2006 Report Posted March 6, 2006 The Truth's DVD was compiled with the 3LK dvd. But yeah, I agree this is too soon/
The Buzz Posted March 6, 2006 Report Posted March 6, 2006 Well atleast it wasnt put out as soon as the Hardy dvd.
The Ghost of bps21 Posted March 6, 2006 Report Posted March 6, 2006 Well...he's been around longer than Christian...and Christian is getting the next one IIRC
Si82 Posted March 6, 2006 Author Report Posted March 6, 2006 Lol. Well, if people will pay for it... why not? Do you have something against Joe Leena?
haws bah gawd Posted March 6, 2006 Report Posted March 6, 2006 So I get a DVD full of stiff kick - stiff chop - stiff suplex - muscle buster - rear choke? I'll pass, mostly because as stated previously, Joe wrestles the same match almost every week on Impact. Sure he makes his attacks look like they could kill, but he needs to mix it up a little every now and then.
Dr. Zaius Posted March 7, 2006 Report Posted March 7, 2006 The Truth's DVD was compiled with the 3LK dvd. But yeah, I agree this is too soon/ They can always release another one later. I've never seen a Samoa Joe PPV match, so I'm looking forward to seeing this.
UseTheSledgehammerUh Posted March 7, 2006 Report Posted March 7, 2006 Get the X-Division DVD to see Joe's best TNA match against Sabin.
Guest Princess Leena Posted March 7, 2006 Report Posted March 7, 2006 Lol. Well, if people will pay for it... why not? Do you have something against Joe Leena? No. I do usually enjoy watching him... at least in his usual PPV quality matches against the better wrestlers. When he's squashing people and being booked like Goldberg, it's just not believable and exposes him. My comment was more laughing about how there's a Joe DVD out already. The only good matches that got any real time in there are multiple matches against AJ and Daniels. And seriously promoting his Impact squashes as something people should pay for.
Corey_Lazarus Posted March 7, 2006 Report Posted March 7, 2006 Aye, Leena. Aye. Joe/Styles from (IIRC) Unbreakable was stellar.
Guest Princess Leena Posted March 7, 2006 Report Posted March 7, 2006 Yes, the December PPV match with AJ was awesome. I did include AJ.
razazteca Posted March 8, 2006 Report Posted March 8, 2006 What no UPW, ROH, or Japan matches? I'll buy it anyways. Pulling the trigger too soon, TNA. Jeff Hardy had his video drop after being in the company for 2 months.
EdwardKnoxII Posted March 8, 2006 Report Posted March 8, 2006 Well...he's been around longer than Christian...and Christian is getting the next one IIRC I hope they have his pre-WWF matches on it. I'd love to see some of his indie matches with Rhino and Edge, oops I mean Sexton Hardcastle.
Si82 Posted March 8, 2006 Author Report Posted March 8, 2006 What no UPW, ROH, or Japan matches? I'll buy it anyways. Why would those matches be on a TNA DVD? Besides, if you want Joe in ROH he already has two best of's.
SamoaRowe Posted March 8, 2006 Report Posted March 8, 2006 I won't be picking up this Joe dvd, only because I already have most of those matches on video, dvd, computer, etc. TNA needs to stop using the same matches on multiple dvd releases. That Joe/Sabin match is already available on "Best of the X Division" vol. 1 and I can promise that if they do a volume 2, a bunch of these will be on it as well.
razazteca Posted March 8, 2006 Report Posted March 8, 2006 What no UPW, ROH, or Japan matches? I'll buy it anyways. Why would those matches be on a TNA DVD? Besides, if you want Joe in ROH he already has two best of's. To see the progression of Joe's skills from company to company. This video does show him training at the New Japan Dojo of LA, why not show his matches from UPW.....you know you can never have enough Joe vs Christopher Daniels!
Jericholic82 Posted March 9, 2006 Report Posted March 9, 2006 are all those ppv matches on dvd already? if so then whats the point of this dvd
