Ever noticed that this board hates everything popular?

Aside from Slayer, seems like everyone is prasing 40YOV which was also popular.

He's right. I don't think I'd ever seen anyone else badmouth the film.

I don't hate it because it's popular, I didn't like it because it didn't make me laugh for the portion I watched (for reasons aforementioned). When I saw the movie was gonna be another 90 minutes I said "fuck it" and stopped my DVD player. Good thing it was just a rental.

Personally, I could never get into Napoleon Dynamite. I don't know if that makes me a Typical TSM Contrarian or whatever, it just didn't make me laugh.

I don't sell DVDs, CDs or video games that I buy because my theory is that maybe one day down the road I might find this current purchase enjoyable. Napoleon Dynamite is really making me re-think this policy of mine.

One thing I WILL say is that the unrated 40-yov is quite a bit worse than the R-rated version. They add something like 15 minutes, and I didn't find any of the additions the least bit funny.

I have a huge bias towards the movie built in, though. Steve Carrell and Seth Rogen just make me laugh, and Catherine Keener is my favorite actress of all time.

Napoleon Dynamite was the worst movie ever.

Wedding Crashers was ok, but I was one that didn't see it until DVD, thus it didn't live up to the hype for me.

Now, 40 YOV was the funniest comedy I saw in 05. The commentary for it may even be funnier than the movie. Seth Rogan is a genius.

Wedding Crashers: I'm in the consensus that it was a good film until leaving Walken's house. I actually thought they might avoid the Hollywood ending, but sure enough they went for it.

That was one of the things I hated most about the movie. I was hoping for something different, but they just made it so painfully obvious that it was coming and impossible to avoid that I just sat there waiting for them to get it over with.

Will Ferrell was the best part of the movie but that was the juvenile crap I was talking about, nothing that's going to make a movie great. From the comments, I guess my problem with the movie is that I simply don't like Vince Vaughn. If I could appreciate his style, I'd probably like it better.

Posting various isolated lines of dialogue isn't going to make me change my mind, either.

That's the same way I feel about Caddyshack.
