Okay, so Ring of Honor is doing this angle where Jimmy Jacobs has fallen madly in love with his manager Lacey. He made a creepy home video inviting her to spend time in his bed drinking wine, he's sniffed her hair when she's not looking, he protects her from catcalls, and my favorite part up to this point: she just kind of looks at him as he opens the ropes for her, and he does the Shane Douglas "heart attack" sell that Shane does after making out with his valet.

But now, it's gotten SO MUCH BETTER~! Here it is, "The Ballad of Lacey", as recorded by young Jimmy Jacobs:

THE BALLAD OF LACEY~!

And yes, there IS a music video coming on ROHVideos.com.

Read these lyrics...awesome

Your glow reminds me of the brightest moonlight.

With out its shine I'd be lost in the dark night.

Lacey,

put me in your top 8 when you myspace me

and never replace me.

Fire burns with a love that is true.

In a million years no one could love like we do.

Nobody can compare to us. No others come near.

There are no other candidates. Together, we're the match of the year.

Your smooth touch kills me so softly.

But it's better to be dead with you than alive and lonely.

Lacey,

you're the American beauty, and I'm Kevin Spacey.

Fire burns with a love that is true.

In a million years no one could love like we do.

Nobody can compare to us. No others come near.

There are no other candidates. Together, we're the match of the year.

That line is everything right with wrestling. Jimmy Jacobs is keeping a good touch of kayfabe alive in the modern info-heavy Internet era, which is something most workers and companies could only hope to do. I'm not even a fan of his work (hell, I haven't even seen more than one match of his, if even), but this guy GETS it.

Wow.

That's fantastic. This'll turn Jimmy face within the next couple of months, I'm calling it.

I say he'll be at least getting a huge face response by this Thursday in Detroit. If they do anything with it this weekend, watch out Joe...Jimmy's taking the company.

It is his hometown after-all, and he's jesus in the mid-west, second only to Delirious.

Has he ever really meant shit in Chicago for ROH as a heel, or was that just a general assumption about his IWA work?

You are probably right and that's sad.

If that video was made by just some random guy on the internet in a serious attempt to let a girl know how he feels about her, that guy would get ragged on big time. That's obviously what Jacobs is going for in this; playing a sterotypical emo character. Despite the fact that a lot of people wouldn't think the character Jacobs is playing is cool if it were real life, they'll cheer him because of how creative the idea it is.

I just think that is too bad.

Not that a face turn wouldn't totally be out of quesiton, I just don't see how the character now can get a face reaction unless the fans are cheering the creativity behind it (which will be the case). Have Lacey continually turn him down and even be a little mean to him. Jacobs continues being whinny and emo about it before finally coming to his senses, maybe getting a face girlfriend, and getting his revenge on Lacey (though noy phyiscal revenge).

All they'd really need to do is give Lacey a boyfriend, ala the whole terribly-done Ozzy/Crowbar/Daffney angle, and there's instant sympathy.

Isn't Whitmer suppose to be the face after leaving Laceys Angels? Or is he feuding with Daniels and turned heel? So lets see...

BJ was in a very over tag team (making him very over for the first time in ever) and they turned him heel, then turned him face, then turned him heel again.

Jimmy was a very over babyface, who they turned heel, only to have him turn face again.

And Lacey is still a heel. Smart booking with these three...

Um...if you actually saw BJ's turn, you'd know that he was supposed to come off like a dickhead for snapping over one mistake by Jimmy. As for the Jimmy/Lacey relationship, It's called long-term booking. Let it ride out. As far as it looks, this is supposed to make Lacey (who isn't turning or doesn't need to turn) even more over as a heel since no doubt she'll end up being heartless and rejecting Jimmy.

Wow, look at me...defending ROH booking.

I don't know if him pouring the candle wax on himself or calling himself Kevin Spacey and then being in the shower was more EMO. Either way, this rocks.
