Charlie Villaneuva? LOL! That sounds like a college basketball player, and I thought he was one until I read this thread.

Aren't the Raptors gonna have plenty of room under the cap? If so, they may load up pretty well and be a low range playoff team next year with Charlie & Bosh leading the way. I think Toronto's future is gonna be looking good next year. I'm interested to see who they would draft though.

The Lakers are playing really well lately. The Hornets are pretty much finished.

Man, that clutch scrub LeBron is something else.

With the Cavs down 3 on the road in the final half minute, he drives the lane, hits the shot and gets fouled for the 3 point play opputunity to tie. LeBron converts and the game is tied.

Rockets get the ball back for the last possesion and go to Yao. Yao gets the ball stolen from LeBron who makes sure the Rockets don't even get a shot off to win. They go to OT.

Final minute of OT, tie ball game, LeBron drives down the lane and throws down a dunk over some poor hapless Rocket player left handed. Cavs up 2.

After a Cavs defensive stop, LeBron drives the lane and dishes off through congestion to an open Illgauskus for a dunk to put the Cavs up an insurmountable 4 points with only a handful of seconds left in OT. Cavs end up winning by 2.

But that LeBron guy, clutch scrub I say. He just doesn't have what it takes to get the job done. :asshole2:

They shouldn't have needed to go to OT to beat the Rockets :asshole2:

By that logic, none of Jordan's clutch plays in the 90's mean anything since none of those teams were as good as the Bulls and they shouldn't have needed to go to the wire.

I would say no if only for the fact that they'll have to beat Detroit multiple times, but really with tonight's beat down and the Detroit win on the road, they definetely have to garner some attention.

Steve Nash for MVP!

Damn, he went 0-5 with 0 points and 5 assists in 26 minutes

Amare was 0-6 with 0 points and 2 rebounds in 14 minutes

Tim Thomas went 0-6 with 0 points, but at least had 7 rebounds in 25 minutes.

That's a boxscore you just don't expect to see.

That's terrible. You'd think the guy was just coming off of knee surgery or something!

What a great observation! The point I was trying to make is the fact that 3 prominent guys in the Suns rotation ended up with a combined NADA on 0 of 17 shooting in 65 minutes against the Nets who are not a noted defensive juggernaut.

Well then, maybe they should be given some more attention now.

And here I sat thinking that Phoenix was still one of the better teams in the West. I know it'll take some time for Amare to get back into playing shape and all (and it's questionable if it'll even happen this season or postseason), but his return doesn't seem like it's done Phoenix a whole lot of good thus far. If anything, the opposite is true, but it's too early to judge quite yet.

The Nets definitely are looking sick, though.

You people sure are quick to jump on and off bandwagons. One poor outing by the Suns, and suddenly Nash's MVP credibility is shot and the Suns are no longer an elite team. Hilarious.

The Nets should get a big boost from this, but I don't think it affects anything credibility wise for the Suns or Nash.

Still, that was the off-night of all off-nights though. When was the last time the Suns were held under 80?

Just read that John Green was convicted of punching Artest, and faces up to 3 months in jail and a $500 fine.

But he was acquitted of throwing the cup at him. Even though, you know, they have him ON TAPE throwing the cup. Apparently "he didn't mean to hit him" with the cup, so that makes it okay.

I think they wanted to really see if he coold give it a go and become the big man threat the Suns need to go deep into the playoffs. For the sake of the future, I think they need to shut Amare down for the rest of this season.

While I don't think the Suns will win it all or even win the West, they will be a tough out in a 7 game series with what they have sans Stoudamire.

I never said that Nash's MVP credibility was shot or that the Suns were no longer an elite team, all I'm saying is I thought the Suns were a lot better than to get beat by 38 points, putting out only 72 against a team not known for being all about defense. And that they probably would benefit from having Amare sit out the rest of the year and let the rest of the squad that's led them to 47-22 record and the #2 spot in the West take over and lead them into the playoffs. Which is interesting, because of what SI.com just said about Amare sitting out the rest of the year.

The Nets only give up, on average, 92.8 points a game, which is better then a lot of teams.

But they're still not known as a defensive team because of VC, RJ & Kidd. I don't think anyone would have taken a bet that they would have held the Suns to 72. . . unless you were talking about a half instead of the whole 48 minutes. From what I saw of the game, it was pretty staggering to see them shut down one of the best offensive teams in the game and how easily Kidd held the soon to be 2x MVP in check.
