They should really do something to the ring during these matchs like put up some special ring ropes or something to make it feel like it's important. The newer fans would think it's the greatest thing ever and be held right up there with the World Title. It'll end on SD, perhaps the same week as Backlash. Each brand has a title match or huge match when the other show is doing a PPV that week.

Probably Lashley. Angle d. Orton .......................... > Angle d. Booker Booker d. Hardy ...................................................... > Finlay/Lashley d. Angle Finlay d. Benoit .......................... > Finlay/Lashley Lashley d. Henry Having one of those two defeat Angle gives them a big rub in what should be a decent match. I can't believe some people are saying that Angle/Benoit in the final is likely - neither of them would gain anything from a KOTR win.
Wrestlefreak Posted April 9, 2006 Report Posted April 9, 2006 I'd rather have qualifying matches than the writers feeling the need to waste a backstage segment to explain why Upper Midcarder A is angry at Upper Midcarder B. Either way, its still gonna be poorly executed this year.
Kahran Ramsus Posted April 9, 2006 Report Posted April 9, 2006 This actually looks like it could be pretty good given the brackets. Even Lashley/Henry is interesting, even if it will be horrible. Benoit/Finlay could be one of the best free tv matches this year if they give them time, which is more likely on Smackdown than on PPV. Overall though, this is probably just an excuse to give these guys something to do since it is two months til the next Smackdown PPV. Just sit back and enjoy the fact that it is actually focused on what is happening in the ring as opposed to some lame storylines.

I can see a double dq or double countount for Angle/Orton allowing Booker to get a bye (I don't see a point of feuding with Boogeyman as he's injured plus it seems more he's in conflict with Teddy Long more than anybody) to the finals, likely against Lashley. From there you could put over Lash or have Booker cheat to win and then eventually have Booker put over the rookie at Judgement Day. I really want to see Booker and Sharmell do something with the "king" gimmick.

I'm sure getting cheated out of a victory from a former 5 time world champion wont hurt Angle's credibility.

Guest croweater Posted April 15, 2006 Report Posted April 15, 2006 Horrible belt. They stuffed up the union jack and somehow combined the NZ and Australian flags. The KOTR is really interesting me, it's probably the strongest KOTR lineup I've ever seen and I wouldn't mind anyone wining (bar Henry). I'm looking for Matt Hardy or Lashly to win. It's still a bit soon for Lashly as he hasn't shown he can really "go" in the ring, but a win for Hardy would really elevate him. Angle, Benoit and Booker don't really need the KOTR as they allready have credentials. Hardy on the other hand would be perfect.
