spman 0 Report post Posted April 12, 2006 Dark Match: Gunner Scott over Simon Dean. Velocity: 1.) Tatanka over Nunzio. 2.) Orlando Jordan over somebody. 3.) Vito over Chris Guy/Colt Cabana. 4.) Jamie Noble & Kid Kash over Funaki & Scotty 2 Hotty. Smackdown: 1.) Brian Kendrick (w/Paul London) over Johnny Nitro (w/Joey Mercury, Melina). 2.) Paul Burchill over some big black guy that I did not know . William Regal was at ringside dressed as a buxom wench. 3.) Matt Hardy over Road Warrior Animal in a very quick and boring match. I think this was a King of the Ring match. 4.) JBL over Chris Benoit in a steel cage match. It was pretty decent nothing really special. I missed the finish because I was going to the bathroom. When I got back JBL was out of the cage and had won. Dalip Singh has been renamed The Great Khali. He and Daivari cut a promo in the ring. 5.) Gymini (w/Simon Dean) over the Mexicools. 6.) Kurt Angle over Randy Orton. He made Orton tap out to the ankle lock. After the match, he held onto the anklelock for approximately forever, and broke Orton's ankle. So then Orton hobbled to the back or whatever and Angle came back out. He said he accomplished one goal in breaking Orton's ankle, but he still wanted to accomplish his other goal - winning the title back. He demanded the triple threat cage match still take place. Teddy Long ruled that Mark Henry would take Orton's place. Mysterio pinned Angle in a quick 7 minute dark match that was not very good. Looks like a fairly bland show this week. 2 weeks in a row with no Finlay!
Hawk 34 0 Report post Posted April 12, 2006 ...Regal dressed as a woman? Great. Great Khali...Who is naming people in WWE now? Khali and Umaga? I guess Orton does the expected injury excuse again. (it's a new tradition for Orton to do post-mania injury angles).
spman 0 Report post Posted April 12, 2006 Strangely enough, WWE has complete spoilers for the end of the Angle match up now on their website. Now it seems they're attempting to make Ortons suspension out to be a work.
BorneAgain 0 Report post Posted April 12, 2006 Additional spoilers from Observer Dark match/Velocity Ken Kennedy came out and was welcomed by a ton of cheers especially when he announced that he was from Green Bay, WI. Lots of Kennedy chants. But at the end of the promo he said that he relocated to Minnesota, so of course he can keep his heat. Tatanka def Nunzio Simon Dean def Adrian Lynch Jamie Noble & Kid Kash def Funaki & Scotty 2 hotty (Kash hit the brainbuster for the win) Vito def Colt Cabana (but i think they announced him as Chris Guy) Lots of Colt Cabana chants actually. Smackdown They opened with the King of the Ring crown, cape, and throne in the ring. Booker T comes down and says how he's gonna beat everyone. He trys on the crown and cape, some pretty funny dancing and stuff from Booker T, but then Lashley comes down for the spear. Brian Kendrik def Johnny Nitro with a roll up pin. Paul London who was at ringside had a nice dive onto Joey Mercury. Melina definately looked good tonight. Paul Birchill def Rahard Brown aka the Skullkrusher via the Sea-4 in a squash. Some funny stuff with Regal dressed up as a wench. Matt Hardy def The Road Warrior in a really short match. Hardy had to do the 'twist of fate' twice because he slipped the first time. JBL def Chris Benoit in a cage match for the US title. Very good match. Some good high spots off the cage. Benoit hit his diving head BUTT and also got a pretty cool suplex off the top onto JBL. JBL hit Benoit with a low blow and escaped. Pretty long match, but it was definatley good. Dalip Singh who is now known as the Great Sahni (i'm pretty sure that's what it is but i'm not sure) came out with Daivari for a promo. Dalip actually got on the mic and shouted something that no one could understand. It was actually kinda funny. Gymini def the Mexicools I'm surprised they let them go over in a short match. Angle def Orton Pretty good match also. Orton took a suplex to the outside, a pretty cool bump. Angle wins via the Ankle Lock, and refuses to break the hold after the match. He then walks away, but then applies the ankle lock again. He leaves, but then comes back for a third time to put the ankle lock on Orton. Orton sold the ankle and kept shouting that his leg was broken. I guess that's how they'll explain his absence. Their were some "you're suspended" chants, but i'm not sure if they come up on TV or if they'll edit it out. Dark match Rey def Angle and Mark Henry in a cage match. It was supposed to be Orton, but Henry took his place so he could sell the leg injury. Pretty short match. Rey celebrated on top of the cage and the show ended. I wonder if Angle will be punished for breaking Orton's ankle and not advance, letting Booker (or Hardy I suppose) get a bye like I suggested in the KOTR thread. RedJed 0 Report post Posted April 12, 2006 Show sounds pretty good - predictable Orton injury angle but it is what it is. He sure did the jobs on the way out to Rey and Angle though, so at least they used him to put over who deserves to be put over on the way out.

CanadianChick 0 Report post Posted April 12, 2006 Holy shit! The second week in a row that Spanky and London are on Smackdown? A less sarcastic observation: how many times have they done that Noble/Kash vs. Scotty/Funaki match? Seems like a Velocity staple.
RedJed 0 Report post Posted April 12, 2006 One other thing, maybe I just havent kept up with the news, but are they going to sign Colt Cabana or what? He's been on WWE TV now for two weeks straight.
Hawk 34 0 Report post Posted April 12, 2006 One other thing, maybe I just havent kept up with the news, but are they going to sign Colt Cabana or what? He's been on WWE TV now for two weeks straight. While it's similar to what WWE did with CM Punk last year, by using him for heat/velocity/dark matches. It could just be case of Colt being a respected worker in the mid-west, which is where they have been stationed the last two weeks. However, Cabana is a fit for WWE. You have to love the rib on Ace Steel, as well.

Guest croweater Report post Posted April 12, 2006 Rey Rey not on Smackdown!? Way to put over the champ. It's probably the best way for Orton to be ousted for a while, I'd expect they'd just release him if it weren't for TNA. I might watch for the Benoit/JBL match hoping that it gets more time than their mania match.

Guest Arnold_OldSchool Report post Posted April 12, 2006 Only a matter of time before Adrian Lynch gets signed to the E, guy is like a replica of Curt Hennig. He's in his mid 30's already and is not sporting a WWE body type. I'd like to see it though, as I've talked with him alot in the Green bay Indy's and even bought some AWA tapes from him. He REALLY hates hardcore matches and guys who are "flippity floppers" though.
Spaceman Spiff 0 Report post Posted April 12, 2006 Hey, thanks for the parade o'smileys, Glennsoe. Way to be. Not exactly keeping a low profile for being a PBP. A less sarcastic observation: how many times have they done that Noble/Kash vs. Scotty/Funaki match? Seems like a Velocity staple. This is at least the 3rd or 4th match between the teams. cabbageboy 0 Report post Posted April 12, 2006 I doubt WWE is holding off on releasing Orton due to TNA. It's not like he'd add much to their ratings or buyrates. You know, it was funny reading Orton's post suspension response on wwe.com. He said when he got back he'd be champ again. I think he's making a big leap of faith considering 1. I'd be amazed if they simply started pushing a guy who got suspended for being a tool and 2. He conclusively jobbed out to both Rey and Angle. That doesn't exactly scream out "title contender." USC Wuz Robbed! 0 Report post Posted April 12, 2006 Well to be fair, he got squashed by Batista last year before going on the shelf, then was made to look bad by Taker all summer/winter long, and we still were supposed to buy him as a title contender this year. You don't think that having Orton, a guy they've spent the last 2 years telling us how good he is and putting him over as the future of wrestling, going to TNA wouldn't hurt the WWE and be an asset to TNA? Considering how young and credible he is it would be enormous.
Vyce 0 Report post Posted April 14, 2006 ...Regal dressed as a woman? Great. Great Khali...Who is naming people in WWE now? Khali and Umaga? Why do they always take pleasure in booking Regal so embarassingly? Renaming Singh as "Khali" actually makes sense, given his ethnic background. It's likely meant as a play on the Hindu goddess Kali, who is, among other things, a goddess of death and destruction.

Considering how young and credible he is it would be enormous. It depends. The thing with Orton is he HAS no credibility. He has a transition fluke WWE reign, a longish IC reign and a couple wins over Benoit and Foley (who would job to a cheese sandwich if WWE paid him enough/let him shill) to his credit and that's it. The most memorable thing he's done since his face and back-to-heel turn has been getting injured, being squashed by Batista and then by Undertaker for months on end, even with help. All that talk and hype about him does no good when A) they don't follow through and B) most of TNA's audience feel it's WWE-fed bullshit. And who's honestly willing to follow Orton to TNA (anyone not named Leena)? I mean, he's not completely damaged nor completely hopeless. He COULD be fine in TNA if they manage to build him back up (which would also mean even more of a logjam at the top of the card). They had varying degrees of success with Rhino, Christian and Raven. If he lasts that long. He's a liability for TNA, and no matter how big of an acquisition he could be, I don't know if even they'll put up with him. Yeah, he's a former Champion who had a reign in recent memory, and in that respect could be the biggest signing evar, but I'm sure they're worried about him having the ego to match, which the suspension didn't help with (seriously, Orton must have had to be grating nerves badly in order to get taken off the road and TNA knows this). At this point he's young, has some potential, is currently clinging to a shred of credibility like Jericho to an Undisputed Title reign, and that's it.
