It is expected to be announced tomorrow that Southland Tales, the movie starring Dwayne Johnson, Mandy Moore and Sarah Michelle Gellar, will be released at the Cannes Film Festival.

Only 18 movies each year, chosen by the Cannes committe for being among the best of the year artistically, get chosen for the festival.

In the movie, Johnson, who for the first time will be listed under that name, and not The Rock or Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson, plays the character of Boxer Santaros, a movie star who gets amnesia and becomes a paranoid schizophrenic who can predict the future. Gellar plays his girlfriend and Moore plays his wife.

Holy SHIT, look at the cast for this thing: Seann William Scott, Miranda Richardson, Kevin Smith, Bai Ling, Janeane Garafolo, Christopher Lambert, John Larroquette, Jon Lovitz, Cheri Oteri, Amy Poehler, Zelda Rubenstein, Will Sasso, Wallace Shawn, and Justin Timberlake. And it's written and directed by the guy who did Donnie Darko.

I really, really wanna see this movie.

Jericho Kane, that's funny.

It was also Arnold's name for that shitty End of Days movie as well. That had to be intentional to name the Rock after one of Arnold's names, since everyone always says he would be the next Arnold.

Sean William Scott drags down that whole list for me. Hopefully he'll be limited to next to no screen time as he has destroyed every movie I have went to see that included him. Including The Rundown, Evolution and American Wedding.

he'd be alright if he wasn't Steve Stifler in every movie.

His best role was Final Destination and that's only cause he got his head cut off and it made the movie 5 stars for me. Until it kept going and dropped down to a 3 again.

Final Destination will never get bad marks from me simply due to the blonde chick smacked by the bus scene.

The best thing about that series is if you hate a character, they are going to die. Maybe not in the one you are watching, but in the sequel you know they are going down. Which is great, because it has yet to have a likable character.

honestly, I've only seen the first one and I hated all of them...every single character and a quality that warranted a grizzly murder.

The Rock and Buffy the Vampire Slayer in the same movie would've gotten me excited 5 years ago.

Now? Meh.

And he's still credited as The Rock, no Duane Johnson mentioned.

Channel 4.

I'm looking forwward to it.

You'll notice those are not exactly official sources.

Christopher Lambert is still alive? I haven't heard a thing about him since he was Rayden in Mortal Kombat.

I think there's been a couple of Highlander movies come out since then.

yeah, he did a Highlander movie with the guy from the series. He's in that territory with Steven Segal, Jean Claude Van Damme and now apparently Wesley Snipes where they think they can still headline a big box office flick but it goes straight to video. You know what all 4 of those guys need to give their careers some life? Heel roles.

Not so sure about Snipes, but have you noticed that Spike TV is debuting a new Segal movie every other week now? Seriously- I've never heard of half of these movies, and I don't think any of them were released in theaters.

yeah, I was at one of our local buy-sell-trade shops the other day and there were a ton of Snipes movies I have never heard of. Other than Blade, he hasn't made anything decent in at least a decade. Even "The Fan" with Robert DeNiro was kinda crappy.

Wesley Snipes was an awesome heel in Demolition Man.

Gellar plays his girlfriend and Moore plays his wife? People give the Rock a lot of shit but from what I've seen, it's not his fault. I mean, he was good in Walking Tall, Be Cool & the jungle movie. I haven't seen Doom, nor will I, but from the sounds of it, it was just a bad script.
