cbacon Posted April 22, 2006 Report Posted April 22, 2006 k guys, gimme suggestions for songs to put on this.
Annabelle Posted April 22, 2006 Report Posted April 22, 2006 i pretty much make a compliation of songs from the vice city soundtrack. run to you - bryan adams steppin out - joe jackson atomic - blondie your love - outfield more than this - roxy music gonna keep on loving you - REO speedwagon those should be some of the highlights.
Edwin MacPhisto Posted April 22, 2006 Report Posted April 22, 2006 All good choices. Also, summer CDs without the Cars' "Magic" are woefully deficient.
Copper Feel Posted April 22, 2006 Report Posted April 22, 2006 Led Zeppelin - Dy'er Mak'er The Beatles - Hello Goodbye
Epic Reine Posted April 22, 2006 Report Posted April 22, 2006 Put a bunch of Sublime songs on there and you're set. Best summer music ever.
Gary Floyd Posted April 22, 2006 Report Posted April 22, 2006 Del Tha Funkee Homosapian-Dr. Bombay B-52's-Cosmic Thing Blue Oyster Cult-Don't Fear The Reaper & In Thee Alice Cooper-School's Out Fatboy Slim-The Weekend Stars Here Queens of The Stone age-Feel Good Hit of the Summer Also, some Horace Andy, King Tubby, and Augustus Pablo is great as well.
ZGangsta Posted April 23, 2006 Report Posted April 23, 2006 Led Zeppelin - Dancing Days CCR - Fortunate Son and Run through the Jungle Guns N Roses - Breakdown I can't listen to Sublime anymore. Up until a couple years ago I absoulutely loved them, but now I can't fucking stand Sublime. It's wierd because the rest of my musical tastes haven't really changed. Maybe it's because the modern rock stations around me still overplay the shit out of them.
Skywarp! Posted April 23, 2006 Report Posted April 23, 2006 Same here--I believe that Sublime are just a "training wheels" band for experimental music, i.e. the kids grow out of 'em. As for summer music, Blue Oyster Cult's "Burnin' for You" sounds great blasting out of a car, for as dorky as that sounds.
Annabelle Posted April 23, 2006 Report Posted April 23, 2006 put on d.o.c. - no one can do it better the entire album. don't ask questions. just do it. the title sorta tells the truth, yo.
Si82 Posted April 23, 2006 Report Posted April 23, 2006 "California Girls" - The Beach Boys "Summer in the City" - The Lovin' Spoonful
Copper Feel Posted April 23, 2006 Report Posted April 23, 2006 I would say put the entirety of Revolver on there, but Eleanor Rigby is the best song on there and isnt a summer mix CD type song at all.
Masked Man of Mystery Posted April 23, 2006 Report Posted April 23, 2006 Some Beach Boys music is definately required here, but specific tracks aren't coming to me because I want to give you something better than Surfin' USA and such
Annabelle Posted April 23, 2006 Report Posted April 23, 2006 suggesting beach boys for a summer mix isn't exactly helping, folks. be a little more creative.
AboveAverage484 Posted April 24, 2006 Report Posted April 24, 2006 Dire Straits - "Twisting by the Pool" Bruce Springsteen - "Seaside Bar Song" Ramones - "California Sun" and "Rockaway Beach"
tominator89 Posted April 24, 2006 Report Posted April 24, 2006 You need some early 90's Snoop and Dre.
Edwin MacPhisto Posted April 25, 2006 Report Posted April 25, 2006 You need some early 90's Snoop and Dre. That's really true. "Nuthin' But A G Thang" and "Who Am I (What's My Name)" are my favorite summer-jam efforts from that catalog. Doggystyle in its entirety is a fantastic summer album.
Zack Malibu Posted April 25, 2006 Report Posted April 25, 2006 311-Freak Out Bananarama-Cruel Summer Will Smith-Just Cruisin' Mos Def-Miss Fat Booty
Gary Floyd Posted April 25, 2006 Report Posted April 25, 2006 Gotta add several songs off of Pharcydes' Bizzare Ride 2 The Pharcyde album. Actually, the whole album is perfect for summer.
daileyxplanet Posted April 25, 2006 Report Posted April 25, 2006 Hellogoodbye - Bonnie Taylor Shakedown 2k1
Giuseppe Zangara Posted April 26, 2006 Report Posted April 26, 2006 Love's Forever Changes is all-time top 20 material for me, sure. However, I never play it more than during the summer. Awesome soundtrack for driving around in that kind of weather.
Giuseppe Zangara Posted April 26, 2006 Report Posted April 26, 2006 Oh hey, this Stones song that just came on shuffle, "2000 Man."
Man Who Sold The World Posted April 26, 2006 Report Posted April 26, 2006 311 - Don't Tread On Me Goldfinger - Superman Fear Factory - Cars Will Smith - Summertime Korn - Got The Life Possibly a few Reel Big Fish and Less Than Jake songs if that's your thing. Hm, I recently made a summer CD and off the top I can't remember what I had on it
UseTheSledgehammerUh Posted April 26, 2006 Report Posted April 26, 2006 311 - Summer of Love Franz Ferdinand - This Boy Green Day - Welcome to Paradise Loverboy - Working for the Weekend Nelly - Grillz Scissor Sisters - Take Your Mama Out
Lil' Bitch Posted April 26, 2006 Report Posted April 26, 2006 Sisqo - The Thong Song Fat Joe / Nelly - Get It Poppin
