Masked Man of Mystery 0 Report post Posted April 23, 2006 If you only listen to what's on Kiss FM, you're not part of any one fanbase. You're just lame and don't know better. Who do you work with, 13-year-old girls? If so, are any of them cute? Hey, Radiohead fans aren't so bad. Hardcore fans get on my nerves. XveganX! No, these are people from I'd guess 16-mid twenties
Special K 0 Report post Posted April 23, 2006 I still don't think so. I think ICP fans last from about 12-17. The may be fucking terrible, but, hopefully they grow up. Phish and Dave! fans never fuckinf grow up. I may be prejudicied. I have two friends who used to dress up in clown-paint. They look back on the pictures, and laugh. All are successful engineers/computer scientists. I have three friends who love DAVE~! They're all washouts. They can't hold a fucking job. They live with their (2/3) parents and (1/3) girlfriend The innanities of ICP is just being a kid. Same with liking Tool or NIN. The innanity of being a hippy will last a lifetime. Annabelle 0 Report post Posted April 23, 2006 Broken Social Scene Oh hell yeah. I know so many 'indie kids' who swear by the musical 'genius' of this band. Did you see them play on the Junos? It was absoultely hideous. If off key shakey vocals and some of the sloppiest playing I've seen is genius then I'll stick with 'stupid music.' Oh, and then I see an interview backstage (from the same Junos) with a couple of the members slagging Canadian Idol (fair enough, it does suck), saying that it doesn't prepare these kids for playing live and that BSS has over 200 years of live experience between all the members so they know how to hack it on the stage. Wow, you'd think all that experience you wouldn't put on such an abortion of a performance. good. we don't need you. one song from an awards show is hardly a sufficient analysis of their live show. i'd say that would be one of the most difficult situations in which to perform. and no less with the broken social scene, which is arguably a train wreck in the making with so many members who rarely perform live together. their touring troupe is much tighter, yo. aaaaaand their vocals are shaky on the album in the first place. thats sorta their steez. Their touring troupe at the moment isn't much different from the group we saw at the Juno's. The only real difference was that they had the full horn section backing them and no Emily Haynes (who I hate so I can deal with). This new chick named Lisa Lobsinger does her parts or if Amy Milan is around she usually takes "Anthems for a 17 Year Old Girl". collett wasn't theree? and weren't some of stars playing with them, too? or were they all in the horn section? either way, i feel i am right on this issue. not with you, but his ZGANGSTA. edit: how often would feist/drew actually sing live together? i can't imagine that often with both of their fledgling seperate touring schedules. Lord of The Curry 0 Report post Posted April 23, 2006 I've seen them live 3 times and Feist was only with them once. The first time was @ Harbourfront in Toronto and Haynes and Milan covered for her. Second time was @ Yonge and Dundas Square in T.O and we only got Milan as Metric was opening for the Stones in NYC and Emily couldn't make it. Third time we got Feist and Milan. Feist herself only came on for 7/4, Almost Crimes and Late 90's Bedroom Rock for the Missionaries. Collett was absolutely shittered and showed up for 7/4 and Superconnected. You should somehow make it down for the Olympic Island show, banky. It'll be a good enough time even thought I know you loathe Bloc Party.

I've got news for you, and I can attest this working in a retail music department about half an hour from ICP's annual Juggalo Fest or whatever the fuck it's called. The vast majority of people who ask for and buy ICP CDs are in their 20s and should know the difference between crap and not crap.
Carnival 0 Report post Posted April 23, 2006 ICP kids. A group of them in Omaha attempted to get me to hang out with them in their little clan, when I denied them they told me that they will come to my house with their hatchets. I lol'd.
Lord of The Curry 0 Report post Posted April 23, 2006 Green Day. I can't even begin to tell you how many people I've run into that think "American Idiot" is the defining album of our generation. They definetly have some bad fans but I wouldn't put them at the worst, reason being that half of their current fanbase doesn't even know what good music is and probably won't for some time. Gary Floyd 0 Report post Posted April 23, 2006 What is everyone's experience with ICP kids? I just see kids walking around talking in broken ebonics claiming to be Juggalos and talking about getting high and killing people. When I was in highschool, I had to put up with several Insane Clown Posse fans. All of them were either really fat, unwashed (though mostly a deadly combination of fat and unwashed), and wouldn't know real hip hop or real music if it bit them in the ass. Plus, they were really obnoxius, lacked basic social skills, and were unpopular for a reason. Oh, and they were all idiots. The funniest thing I've noticed, is that there are practically no black ICP fans. Most of them still love Korn, and think that ICP and their compatriots are the only Hip Hop that matters. Finally, a funny story. A while back, a website who's name escapes me right now made fun of ICP. Some of their fans got really pissed. You could tell that they were pissed because they couldn't spell worth a damn (though that's mostly due to their lack of many brain cells), and kept flooding the messageboards, calling the people on the website "Niggers". No, not "Niggas", but the racial insult "Niggers". Anyways, long story short, they kept threatening that they had someone who was going to hack into the website and destroy it. Well, that never happened, and they eventually disappeared. Ironically enough, one of the ICP fans was a girl, and was suprisingly calm and level headed. I felt bad for her, because all the others were manchildren, and a few of them were in their twenties and still living in their parent's trailer.

Anorak 0 Report post Posted April 23, 2006 Green Day. I can't even begin to tell you how many people I've run into that think "American Idiot" is the defining album of our generation. That album was mega-successful though, they were obviously going to pick up millions of young new fans who are more prone to OTT platitudes. I think there's plenty of Green Day fans who don't fit this category, myself included.

Ok that's sorta sad, if they take it seriously. I've got an admiration for ICP. I believe Violent J is smart as fuck, just a master of marketing. Violent J in interviews has flat out laughed and said 'we SUCK!' They've got a sense of humor towards themselves, how do the juggaloes take it so seriously? 2GOLD 0 Report post Posted April 24, 2006 Korn, Slipknot (any fans that say they'll kill themselves if the band retires get listed), and ICP fans. Most young fans in general are really horrible but I attribute that to them just being kids and not knowing better. But the majority of Korn fans? In their 20's or 30's and still dumb as clam shells. Meh, everything of theirs that I've heard I've hated. And that Juno performance REALLY blew. Like really, really, really blew. Plus all the people who like them that I know are your stereotypical 'super indie kids' who have the exact same corporate mass-marketed 'indie style and tastes' and swear that these guys are all musical geniuses, but of course would despise them if they were popular. collett wasn't theree? and weren't some of stars playing with them, too? or were they all in the horn section? either way, i feel i am right on this issue. not with you, but his ZGANGSTA. CheesalaIsGood 0 Report post Posted April 24, 2006 ICP fans amuse me but only from a distance. I like the ICP but I really have no desire to "get any on me". I do think it took entirely too long for KISS to get a mention as they are the blueprint for shitty fandom. I have seen both groups live but I still get the most uncomfortable waiting in line to see WWE.

Metallica fans that think The Black Album is amazing. And, of course, EMOKIDS. Any and all of them. Annoying little fucktards. Oh, indie rock bands have horrible fanbases as well.
