Cheech Tremendous 0 Report post Posted May 11, 2006 Turns out the person who voted for Deron Williams was a TV analyst for the Jazz. They really should ban the guy from ever voting again. Same thing with whoever voted for PJ Brown last year for MVP. It just undermines the whole process having someone totally screw up the voting. It's all anyone focuses on instead of the other 124 that got it right.
Dangerous A 0 Report post Posted May 11, 2006 That guy is just goofy. I don't care if he saw all of Williams games. There is no way you can justify Deron fucking Williams as ROY. I think Deron Williams will end up being a solid-very good player, but Chris Paul has the talent to be mentioned in the same breath as Magic, Isiah, and J-Kidd. Ripper 0 Report post Posted May 11, 2006 Finally! A team went inside on the Suns for the entire game. D'Antoni got away with not making adjustments against the Lakers. They bailed him out by giving into playing Suns ball. I don't think he'll be so lucky this time around. The Clippers could win in 5 if they played every game like they did tonight. The Suns still have no answer for Elton Brand, and that doesn't look like it's going to change. Bah, he made plenty of adjustments. He moved Tim Thomas to the bench despite him being the best scorer amoung the starters. He made the screen and role the primary offensive option. He ended up doing a damn good job. But I have to applaud Mike Dunlevey. people will say the Clippers pounded them inside and thats why they won, but thats not true in the slightest. The clippers were shooting jump shots and fade aways all night. The Suns did a respectable job on defense. But Mike made a incredible adjustments. He didn't get back to defend the fast break. he basically said, fuck your fast break and had all 5 clippers crash the boards on every single shot. The Suns, being the suns, only send two guys to the boards, Nash goes to the wing and the two others take off after every shot. Thats how they run their break. So it was pretty much Marion/Diaw trying to rebound with every clipper on the floor. THe Clips won because of those 19 or twenty offensive rebounds and having so many second chance points. D'Antoni is going to make adjustments...just wonder which one. He could go bigger and put Grant in to single cover Brand. Yeah, brand will drop 30-40 points, but you don't leave the Clipps shooters open like last night. I personally don't think that is what he is going to do. I think he is going to go smaller. He is going to start Barbosa, move James Jones to the bench and have Marion guard Brand. If Elton is going to score a shitload of points ANYWAY, there is no point in doubling him. Just take the other guys out of the game. Either way, I am still going to enjoy this series.
Dangerous A 0 Report post Posted May 11, 2006 Don't forget the move of Q-Ross guarding Nash so Cassell doesn't have to chase him up and down the floor. BTW, some shitty news to report as Larry Hughes has left the Cavaliers to be with family following the death of his younger brother... CLEVELAND -- Cavaliers guard Larry Hughes left the team Thursday to be with his family in St. Louis following the death of his brother. Justin Hughes, 20, died early Thursday, Cavaliers general manager Danny Ferry said in a statement. Justin Hughes was born with a heart defect and had a heart transplant 10 years ago. No timetable has been set on Larry Hughes' return to the Cavaliers. Cleveland trails Detroit 2-0 in the Eastern Conference semifinals. Game 3 is Saturday at Cleveland. "Right now, basketball should be the furthest thing from his mind," teammate Damon Jones said. "He has to be there for his family. They're going through a trying time right now. If he's able to get back, that's good. if he's not, were going to continue to keep him in spirit in our hearts."
Guest Report post Posted May 11, 2006 I remember reading something about his brother in an old issue of Sports Illustrated. I don't think that I'd be able to come back to the team.
Ripper 0 Report post Posted May 11, 2006 Ross was getting abused though. Thats too bad for Larry. I think he should call it a series. They aren't going to win anyway. Just stay with your family. I want to say again, for the people that missed it when I said it his rookie year. Shawn Livingston is going to be one of the best players in the league if he can stay healthy. The kid is absolutely amazing.
Dangerous A 0 Report post Posted May 11, 2006 I know Ross was getting used. The point wasn't for Ross to stop Nash. It was to relieve Cassell from having to do it since he's already gimpy.
Rendclaw 0 Report post Posted May 12, 2006 As slow and awkward as his game appears to be, there are damned few players that can stop Nash one on one. How often do you think that his man cuts him off from going right, only for Nash to do a half-speed crossover back to the left and get into open space for the layup or dish to a teammate on the wing or in the corner for a wide open three, because help came? It amazes me sometimes... its like that Bugs Bunny cartoon where he is playing every position, says "I think I'll perplex him with my slowball", then delivers this snail's pace pitch that strikes out the entire side in one pitch? That's Nash's game to me.
CanadianChris 0 Report post Posted May 12, 2006 The Nets' Clifford Robinson has been suspended for five games on a drug violation. http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/news/story?id=2442732
naiwf 0 Report post Posted May 12, 2006 You would think a nearly 40 year old man would be able to give up the weed during a playoff run. I'm assuming he's not on a "hard" drug, but either way that's a stupid choice at this point of the year.
Ripper 0 Report post Posted May 12, 2006 I would bet it was something more to keep them old bones from aching more than weed at this point.
Ripper 0 Report post Posted May 13, 2006 You know, Shaq has to be the stupidest fucker on the planet. I am sick of him saying everyone is flopping and that is why he is getting fouls. Hows about playing some basketball and stop complaining. How about turning INTO the defensive player with your elbows up. How about noticing that every game where you out manuver your defender you have huge games and the physcial games your team struggles because you are in foul trouble. How in the ever loving hell do you have a 30 and 20 game when playing finesse and say "You know...in this next game I am just going to muscle everyone around". Fucking idiot
alfdogg 0 Report post Posted May 13, 2006 Man, fuck Cliff Robinson. Couldn't they have done this drug test two weeks ago.
naiwf 0 Report post Posted May 13, 2006 I think if Elton Brand scores a couple of more baskets in the first half he will officially own the Phoenix Suns franchise. They're making him look like Wilt Chamberlain in his 50.4 PPG season.
Art Sandusky 0 Report post Posted May 13, 2006 It's funny to hear other commentators gradually get more and more annoyed by Bill Walton as the playoffs go on.

naiwf 0 Report post Posted May 13, 2006 Is anyone else really annoyed by the number of flops per playoff game these days in the NBA? I'm not saying go back to the "no blood, no foul" mentality of the '90s, but I'm sick of guys diving around like soccer players the moment there's even a hint of contact. It seems like every time someone posts up a guy flops, grabs his face and hopes for a charge.
naiwf 0 Report post Posted May 13, 2006 Radmanovic is on FIYAH!~ Bullshit call right there, but that's what I've come to expect from the Phoenix Phloppers.

naiwf 0 Report post Posted May 13, 2006 All we need is for this clunker to go to OT. If I wasn't wide awake against my will I wouldn't be watching this game. It's like one of those early season games where nothing exciting happens.
Guest Report post Posted May 13, 2006 The game's over. The Suns aren't going to let the same thing happen to them in the same building again. I'm extremely glad that I made money off this game, and will do something more fun with it. If the Suns choke another game away, I'm going to die from laughter. EDIT: Nash made a big shot. Good for him.
naiwf 0 Report post Posted May 13, 2006 Nice push off by Nash on that jumper. It's funny how the Suns whine about everything that goes against them, but Nash can throw kicks and shove off on offense and defense. Snapper Jones has been awful in this game.
