Bored Posted May 15, 2006 Report Posted May 15, 2006 In place of the actual starting pitchers I pick out random names from the past. Yes I know this will only amuse me. Vern Gagne Posted May 15, 2006 Report Posted May 15, 2006 Here is the Twins projected lineup Monday. C-Mark "Chief" Salas 1B-Ron Jackson 2B-Rob Wilfong SS-Ron Washington 3B-Mike Cubbage LF-Bombo Rivera CF-Jarvis Brown RF-Andre David DH-Mickey Hatcher
Hawk 34 Posted May 15, 2006 Report Posted May 15, 2006 Great. Interleague is back and that means more recycled debates that people stopped caring about after the first year.
Guest Smues Posted May 15, 2006 Report Posted May 15, 2006 Boo for Atlanta being in the only non interleague matchup, but oh well they'll still play Boston in June.
treble Posted May 15, 2006 Report Posted May 15, 2006 None of the Jays games in Colorado are even going to be on TV here. That's funny.
Bruiser Chong Posted May 15, 2006 Report Posted May 15, 2006 The Chicago/Chicago match-up couldn't come at a worse time.
Guest Posted May 15, 2006 Report Posted May 15, 2006 The Angels-Dodgers matchup couldn't come at a better time. They're trotting out a bad lineup.
Hawk 34 Posted May 15, 2006 Report Posted May 15, 2006 2 months ago, Det/Cin looked "ugh" and now it actually has something of interest. The 2006 upstart teams collide.
Bruiser Chong Posted May 15, 2006 Report Posted May 15, 2006 That would be a fun series to check out. I'm gonna see if some friends wanna make the drive down.
sfaJack Posted May 15, 2006 Report Posted May 15, 2006 That Marlins/Devil Rays series will be scintillating. Should easily draw 40,000 empty seats.
CanadianChris Posted May 15, 2006 Report Posted May 15, 2006 None of the Jays games in Colorado are even going to be on TV here. That's funny. You can't be serious. The Jays could top 40 runs for the series, hitting the way they are. It's a broadcaster's dream. I can't believe, with two networks sharing coverage, that there are so many holes in the TV schedule. It's going to be just as bad next month, too, with the World Cup on everywhere all the time.
Mik Posted May 15, 2006 Report Posted May 15, 2006 Pat Rapp! Marks the fuck out. And as for the Marlins/D-Rays, at least it's another series where the Marlins can win some games. Up to only third worst record in baseball right now. woot woot. Not only that, but Hermida is coming back soon and both Renyel Pinto and Yusmeiro Petit got the call up to the MLB! Yes, that's what Marlins fans get excited about.
Hawk 34 Posted May 15, 2006 Report Posted May 15, 2006 I really hope none of the 4 bad teams in the league get on a hot streak anytime soon. I look forward to watching the Florida/KC/Pittsburgh/Washington fight for worst of '06.
vivalaultra Posted May 15, 2006 Report Posted May 15, 2006 All of Texas gets pumped for the "Battle of the Silver Boot". I'm sure Minute Maid Park's gonna be rocking all week, what, with the Bonds circus coming for the next three days. There's word that all the fans in the right field section are going to bring Sharpies and if any of them catch #714, they're going to write something pertaining to steroids on it before throwing it back. I'm not a Bonds fan, but I think that's just petty, and besides, the record is not #715, lest we forget. But we've got my boy, Buchholz pitching tonite, so I'm not worried that Bonds is going to hit anything.
MarvinisaLunatic Posted May 15, 2006 Report Posted May 15, 2006 I think its funny that the only way I will watch or listen to the Os/Nats games this weekend is if I watch them on the Nats TV network (MASN, assuming that the games aren't blacked out on Directv even though Nats games haven't been blacked out here before) or listen to the Nats radio team call the game on XM.. Wonderful. Comcrap SportsCrap is carrying college baseball on Friday night, DC United on Saturday Night and College Lacrosse on Sunday afternoon. Actually, I guess I'll get to watch the Os TV Network side of MASN on Saturday and Sunday since my UPN network carries the games. But Friday night..I gotta watch the Nats side of MASN. I really don't get how the Orioles and Nats are gonna share a network next year..
Dobbs 3K Posted May 15, 2006 Report Posted May 15, 2006 The Chicago/Chicago match-up couldn't come at a worse time. As if having the Southside team win the World Series last year wasn't enough humiliation for Cubs fans...

Cartman Posted May 15, 2006 Report Posted May 15, 2006 Oil Can!!! Al Nipper, current acting Pitching Coach for the BoSox while Dave Wallace recovers. After no baseball this weekend and a garbage game that shouldn't have been played friday night i'm really hyped for tonights Sox/Orioles game.
The Man in Blak Posted May 15, 2006 Report Posted May 15, 2006 The Chicago/Chicago match-up couldn't come at a worse time. If the Sox sweep, that would probably increase the chances of Dusty being fired.
Bruiser Chong Posted May 15, 2006 Report Posted May 15, 2006 I'm sure the Sox being so good, the games being at the Cell and Lee still being hurt will more than explain why the Cubs couldn't snag a win. The Nats coming to town for three may break up some of this losing, which could be unfortunate, since it may create the illusion things are okay. Then again, the Cubs were a sparkling 1-5 against them last season. As it stands, I think Maddux, Hill, and Zambrano will be the starting pitchers in the weekend series. I shudder to think how the offense will fare against pitchers that are actually capable of shutting real offenses down. If they got blanked by the likes of Zack Duke, Clay Hensley, and Chan Ho Park, it could get ugly this weekend.

But TSN could've picked up one game in this series, at least. Their Friday night schedule consists of poker and boxing, and Saturday they have a NASCAR race. Guess I'll have to flip on the Fan 590 channel on my TV.
KingPK Posted May 15, 2006 Report Posted May 15, 2006 PLEASE tell me that it isn't raining in Baltimore and the Red Sox are actually going to be able to play a game today? Please?
EVIL~! alkeiper Posted May 15, 2006 Report Posted May 15, 2006 PLEASE tell me that it isn't raining in Baltimore and the Red Sox are actually going to be able to play a game today? Please? It should be clear, but then again that didn't stop Lakewood/Delmarva from cancelling their game at Citizens Bank Park.
MarvinisaLunatic Posted May 15, 2006 Report Posted May 15, 2006 PLEASE tell me that it isn't raining in Baltimore and the Red Sox are actually going to be able to play a game today? Please? It should be clear, but then again that didn't stop Lakewood/Delmarva from cancelling their game at Citizens Bank Park. Well Im glad I didnt go then. And Im getting the Os game on ESPN in HD..someone goofed up and didn't flip the blackout switch. First O's game in HD this year (last one vs Cleveland was blacked out and I can't get CSN-HD).
MarvinisaLunatic Posted May 15, 2006 Report Posted May 15, 2006 Well, I just saw on the bottom line that Cabrera is on the DL, so I did a little looking, and it looks like the competence of the Os organization is in question again. Do they bring up Hayden Penn or Adam Loewen to take his spot in the rotation? No. They brought up Chris Britton to the bullpen. The concensus is that they will skip cabreras next scheduled start since it was an off day thursday and bring up Penn to start the 23rd vs Seattle which was a scheduled date to start in the minors for him anyway.
the max Posted May 15, 2006 Report Posted May 15, 2006 I wish I could combine the two Red Sox v. Orioles broadcasts I have. The Comcast one is some annoying pbp guy and Buck Martinez (who I like). ESPN's feed is Dave O'Brien (who I like) and godawful Steve Phillips. I'm not going to complain though, since I haven't seen a Red Sox game (or a baseball game, for that matter) in three days.
Vampiro69 Posted May 15, 2006 Report Posted May 15, 2006 Well the Twins and the White Sox split their for game series with the Sox winning 7-3 today. Odd stat of the day. Scott Podsednik has hit more home runs at this point of the season then he had all of last season. Podsednik has one home run on the year.
MarvinisaLunatic Posted May 16, 2006 Report Posted May 16, 2006 Ugh..please get rid of Lopez..please let this be his last start..ugh
mike546 Posted May 16, 2006 Report Posted May 16, 2006 Yankees with the smallball! Cano with smart baserunning leads to a run!
