Crawford possibly blowing out his knee arguing a call was the funniest thing I've seen since one of the Grammaticas did it after making a kick or Gus Frerotte concussing himself.

Well, the Mets game got rained out tonight, and will apparently be played tomorrow as part of a doubleheader. That seems fine until you realize that The Weather Channel has the chances of precipitation tomorrow at 100%. I'd be surprised if more than one game of this series gets played this weekend.

I didn't understand the logic behind that one either. Unless they play a doubleheader on Sunday, I agree with you that only one game will be played this weekend.

In Astros news that nobody outside of Houston cares about, Mike "Send em to the" Gallo got sent down to AAA this morning, and the Astros have called up Chris Sampson, a converted shortstop who has gone 7-1 with 7 walks and 35 strikeouts in 65 innings at our AAA club this season, he's also hitting .522 in 23 at bats. However, he's just holding a place until Clemens comes back on the 22nd. Either way, he's gotta be better than Gallo.

I'm going to see the Yankees in Baltimore tomorrow afternoon. They're calling for rain pretty much all day.

Jason is bitter about being left off the all-star team. He's been the top Yankee this year.

Take it out on the crappy Orioles.

I saw yesterday's Binghamton/Reading game live. It's not often you get to see a lineup with five players under the Mendoza line, as Binghamton did. Consequently Daniel Haigwood looked terrific, striking out seven in seven innings, giving up just one run which turned out to be the only score of the contest. Binghamton reliever Matt Lindstrom struck out four of the five batters he faced. His fastball is just devestating, hitting 100 mph at times.

One player who didn't play who caught my eye was Binghamton's Henry Owens. In 14 2/3 innings, he's struck out 33 batters. In fact, he's struck out 60% of the batters he's faced. That's just disgusting. I wouldn't be surprised to see him in New York sooner than later.

Papelbon seems to be French for "automatic". 20 straight saves.

And of course, Jeter drives in the go ahead run for the second time tonight.

Why am I not surprised to hear "the Cubs made some baserunning mistakes earlier" as a reason for why we only scored 2 runs on 11 hits?

Papelbon is on course to have the best season by any closer in the history of baseball according to some guy at Sportsline. If that's true then he outta get the AL Rookie of the Year unless something bizarre happens.

Will he still be under the limit for MLB service?

Kansas City vs. Seattle must be the dregs.

They finally took away my baseball.
