Oral Robert/Clemson has been pretty good with ORU making the comeback in the ninth, but damn, I'm sure Clemson was out on that bunt.

Haha, so the Mets' payroll is basically unchanged. Marrero's just going to be taking Matsui's spot in the roster.

I can live with that.

I guess that means Marmol goes for the Cubs, he's the guy with the great fastball and hard curve or slider. Steve Stone was talking about how he has the chance to be the next Zambrano.

He's looked incredible early in the going; Stoney compared his stuff to Angel Guzman's prior to his arm troubles. Speaking of Guzman, he's been called up, which probably means he's going to get Wood's start. I'm hoping Marmol gets to go in place of Rusch next time out.

The A's may very well be this year's Dodgers with injuries just killing their season. Both Eric Chavez (back) and Bobby Crosby (hand) are questionable for the entire Yankees series, both out of the lineup tonight.

That obviously doesn't effect the uneffectiveness of Randy Johnson.

Antonio Perez is 1 for 33, with 17 Ks and he's on a major league roster? WTF?

Just as I wrote that he takes RJ deep!

Perez was 1 for 33 this year before that homerun. Okay maybe it is time for Randy Johnson to retire.

He also gave up a hit to light hitting, emergency call up Mike Rouse tonight. And now he walks him. Ouch.

The matchup in Houston tonite is like one of those old "mirror matches" on Mortal Kombat. Fernando Nieve gave up a 2 run homer to Andruw Jones in the bottom of the first, so Jorge Sosa gave up back to back jacks to Biggio and Mike Lamb to lead off the bottom of the first. I predict the final score will be...let's see...9 innings...18-16. All runs scored on homeruns.

Wow, Bernie's throw from shallow right went about 100 feet in the air. Fucking pathetic. The Yankees are decomposing this season. Randy's getting squeezed here, but he deserves it for being so wild.

Your # 2 starter is pitching worse than Jaret Wright lately. I'd be concerned if I were you. The Yankees only play for championships and they're not getting one this year with this team. Steinbrenner will be pissed. And there's the matter of him being owed another season's worth of money next year. Good luck with trying to dump him on someone else.

We've played most of the season with bad pitching (except for Moose, Rivera, and a small part of the pen), and without two of our best run producers on the team, replacing them with rookies, and we're still in first place. No, i'm not worried.

Papelbon just blew his 1st save of the season, however it was with men already on the corners but 2 out in the 8th.

Why on earth would Jason Michaels swing at a 3-1 count with the bags full, one out and Hafner on deck? A Podsednik error doesn't wind up costing the Sox any runs because of the Michaels doubleplay.

Meanwhile, the Jays can't hit with RISP and Mark Mulder gets roughed up again.

Papelbon's ERA didn't take a hit since the run was charged to Hansen. The Sawx regained the lead with a walk, single and sac fly in the bottom of the 8th.

Half of my previous prediction was wrong. Fernando Nieve has settled down while Jorge Sosa is the drizzling shits. 6-2 'Stros in the bottom of the fifth. Only one team has allowed more multiple run innings than the Braves...The KC Royals. Yeesh. Well, at least the Astros are playing inspired ball again. They're, to coin a phrase "playing the game the right way". Getting runners on, working counts, getting hits with runners in scoring position. Good stuff.

The Indians should probably be up by 10 by now. They've had the bases loaded the last two innings and had two on in the first. For that, they have one run, which came in the first frame.

Yankees team era is 4.23, seventh in MLB and second in the AL. It's not the end all be all stat, but lets keep the NY ranting about your pitching in perspective. Even with Johnson falling apart, the Yanks seem to be holding up on the pitching end, and don't they lead the league in runs?

Toronto has definitely had the chances to bang Bonderman around tonight. I'm hoping the Tigers can hold on and get out of this with the win. After being slapped around the past week and a half, this would make 2 in a row for them.

So, with his HR just now this is Ryan Howard's career statline . . .

.291 (165-567) 46 HR 122 RBI, 59 BB, 173 K, .358 OBP, .591 SLG. He also has 28 2B, 2 3B, 335 TB

If he ever cuts down on his strikeouts he'll be a legit MVP threat.
