Guest Hotbutter Spoontoaster Posted June 5, 2006 Report Posted June 5, 2006 A new member of the club?, June/5th/2006. As per the Chairman's stunning announcement, this week's Raw will include a special induction. That induction will be of the newest member to the "Mr. McMahon Kiss My Ass Club", and according to Mr. McMahon, that new member will be Triple H. Will "The Game" join the likes of Shawn Michaels, Tom Hanks, William Regal and Jim Ross as members of sports-entertainment's most exclusive club? Also this week on Raw, the WWE championship match at ECW One Night Stand will be made official when John Cena and Rob Van Dam ink their names on the contract. The contract signing will kick off Raw, so be sure to tune in right at 9pm to see it happen. The Intercontinental championship match between Kane and Shelton Benjamin was interrupted when the recurring voices in Kane's head seemingly came to life. "The Big Red Monster" found himself staring at a mirror image of his old self right in the middle of the Raw ring. Will there be any further developments in the mysterious saga that is Kane? Also last week on Raw, Paul Heyman had a face-off with Mick Foley, and announced his two draft picks for the new ECW team: Raw's Rob Van Dam and SmackDown's Kurt Angle. What will Heyman have up his sleeve this week on Raw, just six days before the ECW One Night Stand pay-per-view? To find out, make sure you are tuned into Raw Monday at 9/8 CT on the USA Network. Harry Smith is also suspose to make his debut tonight.
Art Sandusky Posted June 5, 2006 Report Posted June 5, 2006 Harry Smith is only getting a dark match, he isn't debuting on TV or anything yet. Hey, this being the hard sell show for the PPV means that we'll get another one of those great segments where all the ECW dudes attack from the stands while everyone goes bonkers. Just don't allow Terry Funk to be the main focus of any camera shots. STOP WITH THE CONTRACT SIGNINGS And, ummmmm... what about the new GM? Is this going to be a running gag or something?
Black Lushus Posted June 5, 2006 Report Posted June 5, 2006 Tom Hanks? Did I miss something somewhere? Am I not understanding something?
Dobbs 3K Posted June 5, 2006 Report Posted June 5, 2006 I think that must be a joke the poster put in (though I'm not bothering to double check). Vince basically said on RAW last week he wasn't going to have a new GM right now, thus we have Coach in his new role.
skullman80 Posted June 5, 2006 Report Posted June 5, 2006 Dammit I wanted to make the OAO Raw thread today since I was going to the show... Got up to late....
Fro Posted June 5, 2006 Report Posted June 5, 2006 Harry Smith is only getting a dark match, he isn't debuting on TV or anything yet. He's been working the Raw tour for the couple weeks. I'd say there's a good shot he'd debut on TV tonight (although I'd run some vignettes talking about how he is the son of DBS and the nephew of Bret first).
Scroby Posted June 5, 2006 Report Posted June 5, 2006 I read over on prowrestling.com (and I know how some you feel about that site) to expect heavy ECW promotional tonight. So I'm hoping for that to happen tonight. And really whats the point of contract signings? I mean their all predictable, a fight breaks out at the end, or someone gets jumped. I think there's been one or two signings that just ended up in a stare down.
razazteca Posted June 5, 2006 Report Posted June 5, 2006 So Harry is going to kill Mitch to join the Spirit Squad?
haVoc Posted June 5, 2006 Report Posted June 5, 2006 Hopefully some matches will be booked for Wednesday show. Matter of fact, how are they pulling it off? Is it live or being taped before Raw or SD this week?

I think there's been one or two signings that just ended up in a stare down. Honestly, it's just build up to the ppv. Really, I think they're using this as a crowd litmus test. Cena hasn't been booed terribly lately, and the marks were booing RVD two week ago. Maybe this'll help them determine the finish to the match. Who knows?

I full expect the crowd to be behind RVD and boo Cena tonight w/ Raw being in Pittsburgh.
Guest Coffey Posted June 5, 2006 Report Posted June 5, 2006 I hope to see The Sandman. Maybe Sabu & Balls Mahoney as well. If it's just Dreamer & Funk again, I'll be very disappointed.

We know who's gonna be heel, but who's gonna play the heel?
humongous2002 Posted June 5, 2006 Report Posted June 5, 2006 Well as long as the place is not full of little kids and chunky women then RVD will be playing the part of the top face tonight.
skullman80 Posted June 5, 2006 Report Posted June 5, 2006 I know when Raw was here last year, right before Summerslam, and Angle was a full fledged heel pretty much he got cheered here bigtime against Eugene. Now I know Pittsburgh is Kurt's hometown, but Eugene got booed out of the building. I have faith in my fellow Pittsburgh fans to boo Cena tonight, I will be in attendance tonight as well.
USC Wuz Robbed! Posted June 5, 2006 Report Posted June 5, 2006 I fully expect to see Angle there tonight to negate RVD's heat.
skullman80 Posted June 5, 2006 Report Posted June 5, 2006 I fully expect to see Angle there tonight to negate RVD's heat. I wouldn't doubt that. It would be a smart move, Kurt is guranteed to get cheered.
jwpeer Posted June 5, 2006 Report Posted June 5, 2006 Kurt is guarenteed a face pop in Pittsburgh, it's one of those things that's set in stone, like death and taxes.
cabbageboy Posted June 5, 2006 Report Posted June 5, 2006 I seriously doubt the reactions tonight will matter one bit when it comes to ONS. This is one of those things they needed to have mapped out months ago, you can't just change stuff the week before. Not when it comes to relaunching an entire brand. It's funny but on pwinsider.com they have a poll up on the various scenarios for Sunday. Right now there are more people who think Sabu will beat Rey than think RVD will beat Cena. How sad is that? The most votes went for the option of "One of the titles will change hands but will be followed by a reversal or screwjob."
Black Lushus Posted June 5, 2006 Report Posted June 5, 2006 would it be so hard for them to have a tournament for the vacant ECW title? who was the last champ over there, Rhyno? Get him back and have him challenge the winner of the tournament. Bam! Easy!
Hawk 34 Posted June 5, 2006 Report Posted June 5, 2006 Rhino has expressed interest in coming back as he isn't locked in by TNA... BTW, TNA needs to work on their contracts because apparently everyone is either per appearence or so short term they can bolt rather quickly. Luckily for TNA only Rhino and Homicide are even close to sniffing ECW. I'm sure Heyman will be all over the hard sell as it's Heyman's forte to deliver on it.

Hawk 34 Posted June 5, 2006 Report Posted June 5, 2006 Pretending that Rhino could bolt from TNA, I'd have him return at ONS and gore Cena during the match and get in RVD's face and proclaim "If anyone is going to be the ECW champion...IT'S ME!! I never lost the god-damn title!" and in typical Heyman fashion...it becomes a 3 Way Dance. Cena/RVD/Rhino. Rhino quickly establishes he doesn't give a shit about ECW but he isn't letting his title just fall into RVD's hands without a fight. I expect Cena to retain the title thanks to Rhino and they can build off that Rhino as the piece of shit heel that caused RVD from reaching his goal. Rhino comes out with the ECW Title on Raw the next night (a new belt but they won't say it is) and he lays it down in the ring and says "If anyone wants the REAL title...you can get a shot at HEAD TO HEAD!" Angle challenges and voila, Angle is the new ECW Champion. Let's face it, WWE will want a "big name" to carry the ECW banner and Angle will be this guy.
NoCalMike Posted June 5, 2006 Report Posted June 5, 2006 So the Wednesday Show is going to be live? Anything booked for it yet?
Scroby Posted June 5, 2006 Report Posted June 5, 2006 I fully expect to see Angle there tonight to negate RVD's heat. Porter do me a favor....bring a "boo Cena" sign and make sure it gets on tv. Espically during the contract signing.
Black Lushus Posted June 5, 2006 Report Posted June 5, 2006 Porter do me a favor....bring a "boo Cena" sign and make sure it gets on tv. Espically during the contract signing. it'll get confiscated just like that nifty "We've Cena Nuff" sign
MarvinisaLunatic Posted June 5, 2006 Report Posted June 5, 2006 Ive said all along that I could see Sabu winning the title from Rey since its the old WCW title and its on Smackdown..
Black Lushus Posted June 5, 2006 Report Posted June 5, 2006 I thought that particular belt was given it's own lineage seperate from the WCW/NWA belt...?
