chirs3 0 Report post Posted June 9, 2006 Predictably, once the sale starts, most of what I want isn't there anymore. Still, Dead Like Me (Season 2) and the Haibane Renmei boxed set = worth it. Thanks for the heads up!
Hank Kingsley 0 Report post Posted June 9, 2006 Same question that's always asked: does this work on pre-orders? Syriana comes out on Tuesday.
Bruiser Chong 0 Report post Posted June 9, 2006 Nope. Except for possibly the first sale or two, this promotion's never worked on pre-orders.
Hank Kingsley 0 Report post Posted June 9, 2006 That's actually just as well, as I'm sure stores will have it on sale for $16 or so the first week.
Guest Brian Report post Posted June 9, 2006 Well, I just spent $125 fairly easily. Now to wait for the next sale.
Bruiser Chong 0 Report post Posted June 11, 2006 That's nothing. Some folks at DVD Talk are spending close to a grand. One guy, a college student, spent over $1600.

He must be really rich and have alot of free time or very stupid to spend 1600 dollars on dvd's.

Youth N Asia 0 Report post Posted June 12, 2006 Ballsack, I'm without computer and don't have much internet time. I may have to try and make a buy soon though. Although it won't beat picking up seasons 1 and 2 of the Wire new for $25...gotta love the shoplifters.

Bruiser Chong 0 Report post Posted June 15, 2006 That's nothing. Some folks at DVD Talk are spending close to a grand. One guy, a college student, spent over $1600. He must be really rich and have alot of free time or very stupid to spend 1600 dollars on dvd's. I believe his justification was he was just "living it up" and/or film was something he liked to study/analyze. Or something. I love film, too, but unless I had an endless supply of bank, I'm not spending that much on DVDs.

Sideburnious 0 Report post Posted June 15, 2006 Meh, I'd love to buy a shitload of dvds but i'm pretty broke right now. I shockingly haven't bought a dvd in months (as to where i was buying at least one a week).
Dobbs 3K 0 Report post Posted June 15, 2006 Now that I'm a new homeowner, I rarely buy DVDs, CDs, etc. Amazing how much money it saves. Yeah, it would be nice to get some new movies every now and then, but I usually just buy used when Blockbuster or Movie Gallery have a special (like 4 for $20 or whatever). He must be really rich and have alot of free time or very stupid to spend 1600 dollars on dvd's. Money + no sense of priority = disaster. They probably live at home or rent cheaply and aren't saving for the future (house, car). I can't get over how a lot of them are buying up stuff like TV series that you can watch for free on any variety of cable stations. Especially something like Law and Order, which I think is on three different stations in syndication! Ludicrous. That said, this is the only time I buy DVDs, and since I'm very very particular about what I purchase, I think I did okay. Sure I spent about $150, and I have a mortgage to pay and two kids to support, but for all the stuff I don't buy all year, I think I'm entitled to this one luxury. (Actually, two, since the sale also runs in November, but I use it to buy Xmas presents. )
LivingLegendGaryColeman 0 Report post Posted June 16, 2006 Thanks to the people who posted this coupon code. I picked up a lot of stuff cheap, under a hundred bucks I got: 3 gifts, South Park Season 7 (the best deal of the whole sale), Royal Rumble 06, Backlash 06, Dave Chappelle's Block Party and 16 Blocks. So much more I want to get too. Thinking about some of the TV shows still, like Robot Chicken and Super Mario Bros. Super Show.
