MarvinisaLunatic Posted June 17, 2006 Report Posted June 17, 2006 MORA! 2 Run HR! 6-3 Os in the 7th. Hey, this wasnt supposed to happen!
Bruiser Chong Posted June 17, 2006 Report Posted June 17, 2006 Uh oh, A-Rod K's with the bases loaded.
CanadianChris Posted June 17, 2006 Report Posted June 17, 2006 Hey, A-Rod struck out with the bases loaded and two out in a tie game. Discuss.
KingPK Posted June 17, 2006 Report Posted June 17, 2006 Top 8th. Tie game. Bases loaded. A-Rod up. What do you think he does? EDIT: Screw you guys. At least I put a little creativity into my post. Normally I'd cackle with glee, but unfortunately he's on my fantasy team. EDIT II: While I'm here, a better start from Lester tonight...but unfortunately it's up to the set up guys to hold the fort for Papelbon. Someone tell Tavarez to go get everyone in the bullpen a hot dog, but from a place outside the stadium.....in Mississippi.
CanadianChris Posted June 17, 2006 Report Posted June 17, 2006 See, that's not fair, because I would have said "hit into a double play" if I didn't know there were two outs. Blue Jays get 1st and 2nd, none out, with the top of the order up, and don't score. Sheeeeit.
Mik Posted June 17, 2006 Report Posted June 17, 2006 Did you see the play Miguel made? Amazing. Whoever was going toward 3rd (sorry - wasn't paying attention) was there in time but Miguel actually blocked the bag w/ his foot and absorbed a mini-spiking to make the out. Looking like 5 in a row for the Marlins.

Bruiser Chong Posted June 17, 2006 Report Posted June 17, 2006 Chris Capuano's throwing down. He's likely done for the night, but not before striking out 12 Cleveland Indians. Sabathia had a rough first and will probably get the loss because of it, but had a solid night outside of that with nine K's.
TheDevilAndGodAreRagingInsideMe Posted June 17, 2006 Report Posted June 17, 2006 Bernie comes up with a huge home run in the top of the ninth, and the Yanks tack on another run in the inning to take the lead, and the game, 7-5. No thanks to you-know-who.
TheDevilAndGodAreRagingInsideMe Posted June 17, 2006 Report Posted June 17, 2006 MORA! 2 Run HR! 6-3 Os in the 7th. Hey, this wasnt supposed to happen! And my fantasy team continues to cash in.
vivalaultra Posted June 17, 2006 Report Posted June 17, 2006 Welp, the Astros just got schooled by the...I can't even say it. But anyway, we lost 7-2. Scott Elarton is now 2-8. He's won 2 of the Royals 8 road wins. One at Yankee stadium and one at Minute Maid Park, two of the hardest places to win for road teams. Oh well, I always liked Elarton when he pitched for the 'Stros. But we damn better take 2 outta 3....
Guest Posted June 17, 2006 Report Posted June 17, 2006 I can't watch games that Brett Tomko starts. Of course, he sucks again.
Mik Posted June 17, 2006 Report Posted June 17, 2006 How do you guys actually stomach posting on team fan forums? It actually bothers me to read the Marlins forum even though I keep doing it. They were ripping a team of 18 rookies after losses in the beginning of the year and now after 6 wins they are talking ABOUT THE PLAYOFFS. Give me a f'n break! This is easily my favorite Marlins team besides 2003 and maybe even ever, but to read some of the crap people write on these forums makes my brain hurt. How do you guys manage?
Art Sandusky Posted June 17, 2006 Report Posted June 17, 2006 You said they'd win the World Series next year, Mik.
Mik Posted June 17, 2006 Report Posted June 17, 2006 I said..."as soon as next year." And I meant that they would be a contending team as soon as next year. And I'm still sticking by that statement.
Vern Gagne Posted June 17, 2006 Report Posted June 17, 2006 Just be happy the Marlins bandwagon is loading up. I haven't looked but what is attendance like this year for Florida?
Mik Posted June 17, 2006 Report Posted June 17, 2006 Disgustingly low. 10k or so a game, w/ most disguised as empty seats.
EVIL~! alkeiper Posted June 17, 2006 Report Posted June 17, 2006 The problem isn't Miami, it's ownership.
CanadianChris Posted June 17, 2006 Report Posted June 17, 2006 Jeffrey Loria is the worst owner in sports.
the max Posted June 17, 2006 Report Posted June 17, 2006 Gabe Kapler was activated when Clement Clement (Hands of cement) was placed on the dl. I like Gabe.
Mik Posted June 17, 2006 Report Posted June 17, 2006 I know Loria did some bad things w/ other teams - but he hasn't been so bad w/ the Marlins. It's his CEO (and son-in-law I think) David Sampson that everyone currently hates. But Wayne Huizenga is the one who killed baseball dead in Miami and continues to do so by extorting a large percentage of the Marlins profits and basically forcing them to beg for a stadium.

I go there mostly because Cub news is reported almost right away there. But there are those who don't understand the game and want to cast away anyone who has a bad game. There are actually those who endorse the idea of a Bynum/Murton platoon in left. Apparently Freddie's occasional basehit has led many to believe he's got a lot of potential.
MarvinisaLunatic Posted June 17, 2006 Report Posted June 17, 2006 Jeffrey Loria is the worst owner in sports. Peter Angelos
Cartman Posted June 17, 2006 Report Posted June 17, 2006 Ok if anyone can give me a GOOD reason the Angels sent down Jered Weaver who is 4-0 with a 1.37 ERA today to activate Bartolo Colon i'll give them a cookie. Seriously there had to be some other way to get Colon back into the rotation and on the roster right?.,...right?!
Annabelle Posted June 17, 2006 Report Posted June 17, 2006 because they have about 8 million dollars more invested in his older brother.
Slayer Posted June 17, 2006 Report Posted June 17, 2006 [re: Marlins attendance this year] Disgustingly low. 10k or so a game, w/ most disguised as empty seats. Excluding the '03 postseason, that's like every year since the first WS win.
KingPK Posted June 17, 2006 Report Posted June 17, 2006 (Yes, it's my weekly bitch about FOX's coverage) See, this piece that's on now about where baseball terms came from is PERFECT for This Week in Baseball, so put it there. Seriously, GO TO THE FUCKING GAME ALREADY!
