Guest NYankees Posted June 12, 2006 Report Posted June 12, 2006 Espn is reporting that Ben Roeth. the QB of the Pittsburgh Steelers was involved in a motorcycle accident this morning. Details of the accident is that his bike hit a car and his head hit the windshield. They dont know if he was wearing a helmet or not. Espn is also reporting that his injuries are not life threatening. Here is the article http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=2480830
Sandman9000 Posted June 12, 2006 Report Posted June 12, 2006 KDKA out of Pitts. is reporting that Roethlisberger wasn't wearing a helmet. When asked to comment, Mike Holmgren muttered, "I bet they'll somehow call us for holding on this..." and wandered off.
naiwf Posted June 12, 2006 Report Posted June 12, 2006 The guy's an idiot. When will pro athletes finally give up on the motorcycle? Nothing good ever comes from riding one.
2GOLD Posted June 12, 2006 Report Posted June 12, 2006 The guy's an idiot. When will pro athletes finally give up on the motorcycle? Nothing good ever comes from riding one. Apparently a quarter to never. At the very least, you'd think they would be smart enough to wear a damn helmet. Hope he ends up being alright, hate to have another Jay Williams or Kellen Winslow situation on our hands.

Bored Posted June 12, 2006 Report Posted June 12, 2006 Witnesses told authorities that Roethlisberger's motorcycle collided with a car near a downtown intersection and that Roethlisberger's head hit the windshield and was bleeding. Roethlisberger has said in the past that he prefers not to wear a helmet when riding. Holy crap, if he's alert and conscious after his head hits a windshield without a helmet I'd imagine they didn't collide at a high speed but if this ends up ending his career he's got no one to blame but himself.
naiwf Posted June 12, 2006 Report Posted June 12, 2006 The ESPN Bottom Line claims that witnesses say he crashed into a car and his head hit the windshield, leaving him bleeding from the head. However, the injuries are not expected to be life threatening. I think he should try to play an NFL game without his helmet just to show him how stupid he is to ride a motorcycle without one. What a douche.
Dr. Tyler; Captain America Posted June 12, 2006 Report Posted June 12, 2006 He's in serious but stable condition (whatever that means) and is in surgery.
kkktookmybabyaway Posted June 12, 2006 Report Posted June 12, 2006 Can't wait for the hysteria around these here parts to begin.
Dr. Tyler; Captain America Posted June 12, 2006 Report Posted June 12, 2006 At least the focus will be back off of communist football for a few days!
2GOLD Posted June 12, 2006 Report Posted June 12, 2006 He's in serious but stable condition (whatever that means) and is in surgery. Means his injuries are serious but his condition isn't to a point where his life is in danger. So his vitals are fine but his head struck a damn windshield.
MarvinisaLunatic Posted June 12, 2006 Report Posted June 12, 2006 Its Karma at work considering it was the Steelers that took out Carson Palmer. So now...the Ravens are gonna win the AFC North !!!
Dr. Tyler; Captain America Posted June 12, 2006 Report Posted June 12, 2006 Even with Omar Jacobs at the helm, the Steelers would beat the Ravens
Guest Smues Posted June 12, 2006 Report Posted June 12, 2006 Too bad no one video taped the crash, it'd make for a great PSA for wearing your helmet.
MrRant Posted June 12, 2006 Report Posted June 12, 2006 Round these parts, it is illegal to ride without a helmet. Watch Pennslyvania pass a similar law so he can't endanger the Steeler's chances.
Damaramu Posted June 12, 2006 Report Posted June 12, 2006 I just heard he has a broken jaw, caved in sinus cavity, no teeth, and a possible knee injury.
naiwf Posted June 12, 2006 Report Posted June 12, 2006 I just heard he has a broken jaw, caved in sinus cavity, no teeth, and a possible knee injury. If that's true, the knee injury which is potentially the worst of the bunch wouldn't have been protected with or without a helmet. The facial damage though might get him to reconsider wearing one in the future considering chicks tend to like men with teeth. That doesn't look good.
EVIL~! alkeiper Posted June 12, 2006 Report Posted June 12, 2006 Round these parts, it is illegal to ride without a helmet. Watch Pennslyvania pass a similar law so he can't endanger the Steeler's chances. Pennsylvania just passed the opposite law a year or two ago. I doubt they'd flip it so suddenly.
The Niggardly King Posted June 12, 2006 Report Posted June 12, 2006 I remember watching some special on ESPN when they were talking about pro athletes that like to ride motorcycles. Ben was on and he was like, "They don't let me ride during the season... I think that isn't fair." and when asked about helmets he said something like, "You can't enjoy the freedom of a bike if you have to wear a helmet." or something like that.
MrRant Posted June 12, 2006 Report Posted June 12, 2006 The Pittsburgh Tribune-Review, citing a police source, reported Roethlisberger also broke his left sinus cavity, suffered a 9-inch laceration to the back of his head, lost teeth and has knee injuries from hitting the pavement.
Guest StylesMark Posted June 12, 2006 Report Posted June 12, 2006 Yeah, no helmets in PA man. Shit, I don't remember where, but when they passed that law, Ben was excited. Nobody wears helmets around here anymore. Damn...crazy shit.
geniusMoment Posted June 12, 2006 Report Posted June 12, 2006 As a Cincy fan I love it. I love it. Die Ben die. How's that chant coming now Cowher, you stupid fuck. Take the whole team with you straight to hell.
Art Sandusky Posted June 12, 2006 Report Posted June 12, 2006 As a Cincy fan I love it. I love it. Die Ben die. How's that chant coming now Cowher, you stupid fuck. Take the whole team with you straight to hell. Okay, not cool. This is the kind of shit that's supposed to transcend what happens on the field, you know. Guy goes through a windshield and you talk about the fucking Bengals. Sad stuff.
Hawk 34 Posted June 12, 2006 Report Posted June 12, 2006 You are an complete idiot Genius. This has nothing to do with the Bengals/Steelers. You fit in perfectly with the Chris Henry fan group. Big Ben was a big star around Cincinnati for 2 seasons at Miami, that's why it's a big story around here. It's not because he is the QB of the rival Steelers. This is simply just another sad story of an young player throwing it all away by the stupidity of riding without a helmet.

Annabelle Posted June 12, 2006 Report Posted June 12, 2006 party on. if the kneeS thing is true, he's in trouble. big trouble. he may never be the same.
Hawk 34 Posted June 12, 2006 Report Posted June 12, 2006 Maybe Ben and Carson can rehab together over a nice round of cornhole.

Take the whole team with you straight to hell. Dude, you're sad. Cincy had their chance. They blew it. Get over it. Get well, Ben. Actually, the Steelers injured Carson, that's the only reason they won, then Cowher mocked the Bengals at the post season parade. And I'm saddened to hear that Ben's injuries aren't more serious. Oh, I feel so fucking bad for him. Maybe I'll send the stupid fuck a get well card.
Guest StylesMark Posted June 12, 2006 Report Posted June 12, 2006 No shit. Didn't he just have knee surgery this year?
