Imagine Chuck Liddell telling a young up and coming fighter, "Now, once you get taken down, immediately give up your back, make no attempts to defend your neck and simply stand up." Regardless, it was some strange advice from Rich, though I assume he imagined Serra pulling guard as Spratt coming into punching range.

Considering he tried to map out the easiest route for his boy Drago to get to the semi's and ends up fucking over Scott Smith, and he also stated had the grey team won the coin toss, he would've fought Burnett, the easiest fight for him.

They kinda go together and make sense but are arranged in a way that normal human beings would never consider using. The fact that he truly thinks he is a genius for doing it cracks me up every time.

I found the fight entertaining, and razor close. I had Din Thomas barely winning, but can't complain about the desicion. The rest of the fights are predictable to me. They should've gone with Carter/Thomas and Lytle/Serra, that would've been more interesting IMO.

They exchange a few punches, most of which miss, Thomas goes for a takedown and slips or fails to execute it. Chris dry humps him until the ref stands them up, rinse and repeat. Execute this game plan at half speed in the 2nd round, and one quarter speed in the 3rd. If that was a fight they didn't want to "deprive the world of", I'd hate to see a fight that they didn't want us subjected to. Both guys were gassed after the first round, and neither landed one clean shot or sub attempt. In summary, for a SF it was the drizzling shits.

I know the fights are better, for the most part, but there's no one I feel like I'd solidly get behind. Adding a bunch of new fighters, one or two I may be a big fan of, would certainly help me enjoy the LW division more.

The second coming of the spinning back fist was pretty cool, but I was sort of fiding myself rooting for both of them to lose somehow. Definitely wasn't boring, but it wasn't MOTY either. Shonie seemed to be playing defence, so he was reacting to whatever Matt threw at him. There were several nice takedowns, and I kept wondering if Matt tore something with the way he was grunting (Seles + Sharapova - hotness + short New Yorker = Matt's grunts). No real sloooooow points like Thomas/Lytle, Serra and Shonie stayed active. Relative to the rest of the season, this was a very good match. Relative to everything else, it was passable.

Shonie having a burst at the last 30 seconds of round one wasn't enough to steal the round...I didn't think so anyway. Looking forward to the finals. I like Matt and Chris...and I like all of the middleweights but Drago. And it was nice seeing Laimon get talked down. Guy seems like and looks like a dick
