OAO ECW Week 4 on Sci-Fi, July 4th

Recommended Posts

I'm still trying to figure out why everybody at WWE seems surprised that RVD got caught with marijuana in the first place.

Apparently everyone in WWE thought that RVD 4:20 was just a cool catch phrase, and not the way he lives his life

I'll only love to see Test show up if he's the next jobber for Sandman to cane.

Well...if he yells "BOOOOOOOOOOT!"...I'll mark out!

:D

You don't think Vince would have Angle squash RVD (maybe not squash, but beat convincingly) just to put the belt on a "safe" guy?

Angle is taking time off to heal injuries. His match against RVD on last week's ECW was his last for a few weeks.

Riot? HAHA, give me a break. There will be no riot. ECW fans are too pussy to do that, thet worst thing they can do is yell "You Can't Wrestle" or some other witty chant.

If Van Dam is gonna lose the ECW title tonight, I hope they forget about the double title RVD/Edge match, and just let a guy who is actually on ECW's "roster" win the title. It would be pointless for Edge to win the ECW title aswell tonight, as they could've just made the Triple Threat last night for both titles.

Probably Big Show. Or they could debut Test, and have him BOOT Van Dam right in the nose, "This is a Test, this a DRUG TEST, motherfucker".

Outside chances being, Punk, Sandman, or Dreamer.

Maybe Funk has "one more match" left, and begins a title feud with The Zombie.

Not really, Angle is on vacation.

So the new preview says that Paul Heyman is going to address the status of the ECW title, but that doesn't make any sense. Except for house shows, it hasn't even been defended yet. What necessitates a statement about it?

They make it sound like they are going to "strip" the title from RVD because he let them down for losing to Edge.

I could see those morons vacating the title for no reason at all to set up a title match at SNME.

Why the hell would it matter? Just have Heyman say he's glad that spinning piece of tin doesn't show up on his show anymore and go about your business. This'll be the fourth week of ECW and we still haven't gotten a real rebellious Heyman promo anyway.

From PWInsider:

For those of you who asked, yes the WWE Title change from Rob Van Dam to Edge was done because of RVD's drug bust on Sunday. WWE officials are really upset about RVD and Sabu being arrested, as you would expect. It's a black eye that came at a really bad time since they are two of the main stars for the ECW brand and Kurt Angle is scheduled to take a sabbatical. WWE is trying to formulate the direction ECW will take from here since RVD and Sabu have put them into a really, really bad position in the public eye and with their stockholders and they are expected to work on that today at the ECW taping.

WWE.com is reporting that as a result of Edge's WWE Title victory last night, "tonight's edition of ECW on SciFi is 'up in the air'". There is no longer any mention of Rob Van Dam vs. Edge for tonight's show.

The website is reporting that Paul Heyman will address the status of the ECW Championship, noting that as of right now, Rob Van Dam is still the ECW Champion.

The preview also promises a "special salute to America" by Kelly.

Noone gives a fuck about Kelli except for maybe 13 year olds. We all know she will never show anything. The whole act is old. She starts stripping, stalls, heel comes out and stops her yadda yadda yadda...

I'm waiting for Val Venis and Big Vis to come out to beat up Mike Knox. Or Orlando Jordan reveals that he's hardore and kisses both Kelly and Mike.

They will, building is supposedly configured for only a few thousand fans. Judging from last night's crowd, there's going to be very few real "ECW" fans there.

I'm sure WWE knew RVD smoked weed, but being arrested for drug use when you're the "WWE champ" is a big deal to them (and moreover, the painkillers).

They're taping two hours tonight, so hopefully we'll get to see Punk tonight.

I guess the good news is short-term, we ought to see less Raw crossover going on. Lord knows if the ratings keep dropping, Vince will throw a bunch of WWE guys on the show.

I believe it's all been mentioned before, but the problem with Kelly isn't the T&A, because like it or not, it has its place. The issue is with the fact that her segment is like dead air. Just there to fill space until Knox inevitably comes out, it's a poorly thought out use of what little time is available to them.

She's also horrible in the role, she can't dance and put on an entertaining tease, not to mention being so young and inexperienced. Completely inappropiate for the role to the point of looking like a deer in headlights.

And where can it all lead, realistically? She possesses no skills required even of valets, can't take bumps, etc., has no ring experience under her belt and has been said to look lost even during catfights. The only conceivable storyline that could come out of all this is just another lame, unimaginative Test vs Scott Steiner-like jealous boyfriend thing where Kelly likely can't even do as much to stay involved as Stacy did.

You're forgetting the only thing that matters: Vince likes her.

End of story.

Vince likes anything with tits, which, you're right, is the reality of the situation and is unlikely to change in ECW's case.

I merely wish for her to stand at ringside, clap and look nice, occasionally getting mixed up in a women's brawl instead of devoting five minutes to her and her alone every week with her idiotic segment (what's the point, it happened even after they successfully accomplished the former). Especially when those five minutes should be spent introducing and helping to get over new and old faces in these early weeks.
