I really enjoyed the build-up in the Sting/Hogan feud...when I ordered Starrcade '97 with a bunch of friends it felt like we were watching the Super Bowl. Too bad the payoff was so horribly botched. Just John 0 Report post Posted August 4, 2006 The whole WCW/NWO feud was handled very well for the most part up until Starrcade 97. For WWE, I loved the Austin/Angle feud in 2001, and the Eddie/Lesnar feud in 2004. Sure, that one only lasted 3 weeks, but that was a great 3-week build with Lesnar being the cocky young champ, and Eddie being the old guy looking for a second chance. The HHH/Angle/Steph triangle. Jericho/Malenko Raven/Saturn v Benoit/Malenko v Rey/Kidman was an oasis in a sea of shit back in WCW. CheesalaIsGood 0 Report post Posted August 7, 2006 The transition between Flair/Steamboat to Flair/Funk was so well done. They planted the seed having Funk do color during the 2/3 Falls match just to get Funk back on peoples radar. His being objective during the match makes you comfortable with Funk in spite of his rep. Night, Main Event, Nitro) and even had lots of intrigue. Benoit brings a tape of Kevin's son that has the boy criticizing Sullivan for not being a good father. Subtle hints that Benoit's banging Woman. A video of Benoit and Woman at dinner is shown. Sullivan's just losing his mind. Sicking crazy ass Meng on Benoit. Plus we got some of the best (and first) nationally televised ECW garbage brawls, like Sullivan/Benoit Baltimore House Show (with Benoit showing up 2 days later on Nitro all bruised), the GAB Falls Count Anywhere, and the Bash at the Beach Career Match. My fav part was GAB aftre the match when Arn came out to (you thought) stop Chris from attacking Kevin and instead joins him in a horseman beatdown while the crowd goes insane (really a loud pop) at bash at the beach Woman stops Benoit from beating on kevin after the match yelling "stop iit Chris, you're going to hurt him" Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
