Atticus Chaos Posted August 4, 2006 Report Posted August 4, 2006 Hogan in Trouble? August 4, 2006 Earlier today, the WWE Chairman, Vince McMahon, received an urgent phone call from Hulk Hogan. Hogan said that there’s a possibility that he has a cracked meniscus, which in turn could possibly prevent him from appearing on RAW this Monday night in Memphis, next week’s RAW in Charlottesville and even SummerSlam. Hogan is scheduled to have an MRI to determine the extent of the injury and was despondent that he might not compete against the Legend Killer Randy Orton. The RAW roster is currently in Australia, and due to the time difference in Australia, Randy Orton was not available for comment. Hulk Hogan is arguably the greatest WWE Legend of all time, and if his injury prevents him from competing against Randy Orton at SummerSlam, there is no doubt he will see him sometime in the future. wwe.com
Guest netslob Posted August 4, 2006 Report Posted August 4, 2006 awww, shucks. who's Orton gonna job to now?
BorneAgain Posted August 4, 2006 Report Posted August 4, 2006 If this isn't a work, doing a quick heel debut of Harry Smith teaming with Orton against DX is probably the best way to go.
Timmy8271 Posted August 4, 2006 Report Posted August 4, 2006 Well isn't it obvious? It has to be Brutus Beefcake. vs Orton.
JimmyHendricks Posted August 4, 2006 Report Posted August 4, 2006 I think this is just Hogan's way of getting out of an angle he has become increasingly uncomfortable with. Perhaps the bit with Orton kissing "Brooke" on Monday pissed him off or something. However, he had a "broken rib" at WM 18 against Rock, and I can remember there was speculation he wouldn't do THAT match, either. This is just like when Austin walked out of the match with Coach at Taboo Tuesday, and then claimed it was because he hurt his back moving furniture. Yeah, right. How did Hogan hurt himself? Driving that Supra too fast? Anyhoo, it might be a good thing if he can't make it, because the only person this whole angle will help is Hogan. It won't help Orton because he would job to a 67 year old man's legdrop. And it won't help Brooke because she isn't appealing to the mainstream that she wants to be in. Interesting, nonetheless.
The Niggardly King Posted August 5, 2006 Report Posted August 5, 2006 Brian Knobbs shall fight for the honor of the Hogan family... he'll hit Orton with his cane, then eat an RKO.
slimm44 Posted August 5, 2006 Report Posted August 5, 2006 They could have Nick 'stick up' for his sister, and family...and get squashed by Orton
Guest Princess Leena Posted August 5, 2006 Report Posted August 5, 2006 Orton should just slap the bitch and end the feud. She looks way too much like Daddy. Then, Randall can cut a long interview proclaiming his many positive attributes.
skullman80 Posted August 5, 2006 Report Posted August 5, 2006 Orton should just slap the bitch and end the feud. She looks way too much like Daddy. Then, Randall can cut a long interview proclaiming his many positive attributes. What positive attributes?
JustJoe2k5 Posted August 5, 2006 Report Posted August 5, 2006 WWE will continue to hype the match and Randy Orton will beat the fake Hulk Hogan he brought out on RAW last week.
Vern Gagne Posted August 5, 2006 Report Posted August 5, 2006 Who was that guy who dressed like Hogan in the front row of Nitro?
Guest netslob Posted August 5, 2006 Report Posted August 5, 2006 Orton should just slap the bitch and end the feud. She looks way too much like Daddy. Then, Randall can cut a long interview proclaiming his many positive attributes. What positive attributes? well, there's his looks... ...and...uh....ummm... ...can i get back to you?
Taker666 Posted August 5, 2006 Report Posted August 5, 2006 If Hogan/Orton is cancelled, Summerslam could actually be decent. get rid of DX Vs McMahons than Summerslam could actually be good.
Black Lushus Posted August 5, 2006 Report Posted August 5, 2006 that Harry Smith program may happen sooner than expected...
cabbageboy Posted August 5, 2006 Report Posted August 5, 2006 I do agree that Brooke looks entirely too much like her dad to be hot. I mean it's like you'd think she was fairly hot and then someone says "Oh and she's Hulk Hogan's daughter" and then you can't help but notice the resemblance. Orton should thank his lucky stars if Hogan really is hurt. All SS held for him was further jobbing and humiliation. Now he might get a win on the PPV.
Guest jackie fargo Posted August 5, 2006 Report Posted August 5, 2006 Orton commented on Hogan's status by saying "typical Hogan, everytime Hogan gets in a situation he feels uncomfortable with he hurts his back or blows out his knee" paraphrasing.
UseTheSledgehammerUh Posted August 5, 2006 Report Posted August 5, 2006 This is a blessing for WWE. Hogan now doesn't have to lower his "big return star power" and hurt his drawing power by working a boring, vanilla, poor mic working midcarder like Orton. Austin/Hogan would only be hurt by running Hogan with Randall midcard.
Guest wolverine1007 Posted August 5, 2006 Report Posted August 5, 2006 well, if they have to make something up on the fly, then just introduce Harry Smith (or some other newcomer) as Brooke's boyfriend. As much as some people might dis-agree, I think if this angle is built slowly and not rushed, it will be alot better for it, as opposed to a match happening in 2 weeks from now.
Guest Princess Leena Posted August 5, 2006 Report Posted August 5, 2006 Meh. But Randall should be booked to lose to Harry Smith, though. I'd rather he squash Eugene, or something. Everyone's happy.
UseTheSledgehammerUh Posted August 5, 2006 Report Posted August 5, 2006 Is Harry Smith any good or does he just do a vertical suplex and powerslam like dad?
benn Posted August 5, 2006 Report Posted August 5, 2006 Is Harry Smith any good or does he just do a vertical suplex and powerslam like dad? He wrestled Matt Striker at the show I went to 2 nights ago and he impressed me. He's a big guy who looks a million bucks but he was fucking quick. He used the running powerslam as a finisher and it looked better than Lashley's.
FroGG_NeaL Posted August 5, 2006 Report Posted August 5, 2006 I'm assuming Vince will offer more money to Hogan, and he'll be cured in time for SS.
Lil' Bitch Posted August 5, 2006 Report Posted August 5, 2006 I really hope this isn't Hogan's way out of getting out of jobbing. Christ, its like I'm the only guy actually looking forward to this match. Say what you want, its 1000x better than the DX / McMahon bullshit.
Guest Kliqster Posted August 5, 2006 Report Posted August 5, 2006 If this isn't a work, doing a quick heel debut of Harry Smith teaming with Orton against DX is probably the best way to go. And just forget about the 8 month HBK/Vince/Shane/Trips feud?
Guest Fook Posted August 5, 2006 Report Posted August 5, 2006 I really hope this isn't Hogan's way out of getting out of jobbing. Well considering Hogan has 100% complete creative control over the finish of his matches, I'd say he wouldn't need to claim an injury to get out of jobbing.
haVoc Posted August 5, 2006 Report Posted August 5, 2006 Introducing Harry Smith as Brooke's boyfriend as opposed to focusing on who he is and his wrestling skill is an awful idea.
hyperchord24 Posted August 5, 2006 Report Posted August 5, 2006 It's a work to either further the storyline. End of story. It comes Harry Smith, or maybe Brooke turning. Who knows. Or maybe Hogan really doees want out.
