Watching generic crap like Til Death over The Office?

No.

The Office doesn't do anything for me. I've tried watching it, I just can't get into it.

Posted

You can't get into THE OFFICE? That's fucked up. Til Death looks awful.

What I'll watch-

Sunday:

10-11: Without a Trace

Monday:

8-8:30: How I Met Your Mother

10-12: RAW

(Nothing from 8:30-10 looks good. The Class looks and is supposed to be awful, ditto Vanished. Heroes looks lame)

Tuesday:

8-9: Friday Night Lights

9-9:30 Knights of Prosperity

9:30-10 Help Me Help You

10-11: I might watch Smith

Wednesday:

8:30-9: 30 Rock

9-10: Criminal Minds

10-11: The Nine

Might try 20 Good Years, but it's going to last about 3 episodes

Thursday:

8-8:30: My Name is Earl

8:30-9: THE OFFICE

Friday:

8-10: Smackdown!

10-11: 20/20 or if the stories look lame- Law and Order

No.

Yeah seriously.

I download pretty much all of my TV shows, so I can't lay it out by time, but here's my list (it's better than everyone else because I'm super-smart):

The Shield (well, doesn't start till January)

Battlestar Galactica

The Office

Smallville

The Wire

Veronica Mars

And Entourage whenever it comes back.

Those are the shows that I won't miss. I also watch House when I remember to, I might watch Lost again if I ever catch up on the second half of the second season, and I'll check out Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip.

Monk's a good show, if a bit formulaic.

BTW, anyone have any sort of list or website of what each network's new schedule is? I know absolutely nothing about who's showing what at which time.

Marv, there is no need to show off the HD here.

Actually there is.

I don't understand how a show like Rescue Me isn't in HD, but is filmed in 16:9. (The DVDs are in 16:9.)

Is FX is HD somewhere?

No..but theres talks to do a HD FOX Network similar to Universal HD (which airs stuff from NBC/USA/Sci Fi like Battlestar and Monk), Im sure FX shows would pop up there..

And yeah, I guess theres no need for the HD stuff since like 90% of primetime now is HD but..whatever.

Added note..Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy will be in HD this Sept. for the lucky folks who can get it..

I think I must be the only person on this board that watches Monk.

Nah, I watch it to. But I usually catch the repeat later on in the night or another since I tend to miss it when it's first on.

I forgot Thursday night at 10pm, that'll be SHARK (CBS). I'm interested to see how James Woods does in this role.

Watching a show just because it's HD is kinda dumb, but whatever. It does look a lot nicer, but it's probably not going to make a shitty show any better.

I'll be watching 24 (once it starts), Lost, Office, Earl, and Without a Trace, probably. I've watched the pilot of Jericho, looked alright (and it's got Major Dad in it), so I'll probably give it a shot. There are probably a few other shows that look appealing that I might check out, too, I'll figure it out when they start.

I have an HDTV and I want to watch HDTV programming!

Okay, but you don't have to mention HDTV in every other post. Ease up a bit on the HD talk. I have two HDTVs, but I rarely talk about HD.

And 24 in HD > 24 not in HD and in general thats pretty much the scenario for all the shows that I Watch..

That may be true, but HD won't make a shitty show any better.

HD was a novelty once but not anymore. Stop acting like it's meaningful.

HD WAS a novelty? What are you talking about? It still is! Once every household in America gets an HDTV, then it won't be. Until then, it is still a novelty. When a station mentions that a show is in HD, it's a big deal.

I think everyone here would love to have an HDTV. I know just because a show is in HD, doesn't make it better. However, it does make a show better to watch.

To a point, maybe. I'm sure Lost in HD looks awesome, but you can enjoy the show the same whether it's on an 60" HD screen or a little 13" one sitting on your kitchen counter. If a show needs HD to be more enjoyable, then it's probably not a very good show to begin with.
