Did she think you were Charlie Haas or something?

Nope. The timeframe I was talking about was way before Haas temed back up with Shelton, and I also told her I was black. I told her it was the months leading up to WM 22. We just have to realize that that is your typical WWE Fan, and the reason that Cena and DX will get shoved down our throats, because the typical fan accepts who Vince puts out as the top star.

Was this over the internet?

Yeah, I can't remember where it was, but I went into a pro wrestling chatroom to see what people were saying. Highly amusing. It was either on Yahoo, or WWE.com...I really cannot remember which.

WWE doesn't have a chat room/message board.

The original wwf.com actually did have a message board. It was pretty horrible.

Ya, wwe does have a chat room. It's in the community section.

They've had one for years. I went in there after Owen's death, said something about a clip being on the local news and was immediately private messaged by one of their chat room mods asking where I lived, what channel it was, who the broadcasters were....it was unexpected, yet fun in a way.

It sure looks to me like WWE is dumping the brand-only PPVs.

If they're not willing to half the price for the brand-only shows, I'm happy with this I guess. Doesn't matter to me much now since I only order WrestleMania nowadays.

Now if they'd just officially dump the brand extension altogether, we'd be in business.

Yeah, that was reported in last weeks WON. I'm not sure how people got "WWE will be only advertising one match per PPV AND pushing the cruiserweights" out of that story, but whatever. Four touring purposes, the shows are still split, but the PPVs will provide "fresh match-ups".

So you want to see alot of guys get fired and never be on TV again eh? The end of the band split altogether means about 40 guys would get fired......

Plus you'd get DX, Cena, Batista on EVERY SHOW. EVERY WEEK.

It would go back to the same 6-8 guys on TV all the time.

OMG, it is people like the 'Sign Guy' who was on Deal or No Deal tonight, that make me embarrassed to be a wrestling fan. If nobody watched it, Orton and Edge started heckling the guy while he got a low bank offer, and Howie tried to calm them down since they were doing a show. Then Cena's music hit and he came out with Lashley while the guy was creaming his pants. Then after he said No Deal to an offer, he did the DX 'Are You Ready?' which people applauded, but clearly didn't get. It was all really terrible

After the first offer, he said, "I've got two words for ya...no deal!" while making the DX crossed-arms sign.

Yeah, he was a bit of a spaz. Walking out with $106K must be nice, though.

Anyone who takes signs to wrestling and acts like that guy is weird to begin with........he's not normal in any stretch of the imagination.

Back when I up in WA, I did a show with the ICW in Tacoma. There was one fan who had to be in his 30's, who was being the most vocal when it came to heckling the wrestlers and the one all the heels picked out to heckle. After the show was over, as we were taking down the ring, we heard Steve Austin's WWE music playing and we started to look around and it was the same fan, driving past us, very slowly, BLARING the Steve Austin enterance music, staring us all down. It really was a site to see.

Which WWE Shopzone gladly cashed so he can get the new ChainGang trucker hat.

Apparently there's a story to it: His wife died from thyroid cancer, and he took solace in WWE events. Somebody in WWE found out about it somehow (I'd guess a wrestler ripped up his sign or something, they brought him backstage to make amends/avoid lawsuits, and that's when they found out, but I don't know for sure) and they basically agreed to give him front-row seats any time he wanted them (hence why he's always in the front row). He pays his own travel expenses, as well as buying new hats (the wrestlers apparently like to wipe their asses/balls on the hats and then put it back on his head), so he's not exactly an employee.

Booker or Batista to ECW?

I'm guessing neither. I'm thinking that the WWE will still call these ppvs (for awhile at least) single brand ppvs and they'll slowly be adding guys from the other brands on the ppvs and Cena's just on it because he'll be the guy from a different brand that they'll be promoting the most. Though I wonder if they'll put any ECW guys on the show, other than Lashley.

I have two quick questions

1. Why was Eric Bischoff doing commentary on Nitro in July 1999?

2. Does anybody remember in I think January of 1999 on Nitro, Scott Steiner came out with the NWO with a old beat up tag team title on, instead of his TV Title. But then later on in the show he came out for his match with the TV Title on. Does anybody remember this?

If I remember right, I think it was the Undertaker who ripped up his sign a number of years ago. Taker still had his gut at the time and "sign guy" was in the front row holding up a "Taker's Pregnant" sign. Taker snatched it out of his hands and ripped it up.

I don't know if that's the reason he was brought backstage, though.

Candice was pretty much in softcore Cinemax porn movies before she was in WWE so that's nothing.

Yeah, I know. But that is just bizarre. Who knew having to make out with Vince on screen would actually be a career upgrade?

If you take a closer look at the poster, you'll note it says "World Wrestling Entertainment Presents" instead of the usual "Single Brand Presents" and all three logos are at the bottom.

I did notice that, but I sorta thought nothing of it.
