Enigma 0 Report post Posted September 10, 2006 Randy Orton is the first WWE wrestler to fail a drug test under the WWE Talent Wellness Program's new guidelines - which recently went into effect. Despite his failure in a recent drug test, he will not be pulled off the road. He will continue to appear on both TV and PPV shows, but as a general rule, he is not supposed to appear on house shows for 30 days. Orton didn't appear at any house shows this weekend. For that matter, he hasn't appeared at a house show in about a month. Under the old guidelines, Orton would have been taken off the road for 30 days due to suspension. Also, he would have lost one month's worth of salary. Under the new guidelines, he will continue to work TV and PPV shows, but he will only have his road expenses covered and receive no bonuses for the shows. The only non-change in the new guidelines is that he will have his downside guarantee docked for 30 days. WWE recently changed their guidelines because they didn't want to have to interrupt storylines or change PPV matches if a wrestler was to fail a drug test. WWE officials weren't happy with how things went down for the Great American Bash PPV back in July, and with the results for drug tests for RAW talent just now coming in, they didn't want to risk messing up their plans for the Unforgiven PPV. credit: Dave Meltzer

Jingus 0 Report post Posted September 10, 2006 Stupid stupid WWE. This is a blatant, open admission that their new wellness policy is an utterly phony and worthless paper tiger that they can and will ignore whenever it suits them. And didn't Orton get suspended after Wrestlemania in the first place for walking around smoking a joint in the locker room? That guy NEVER learns.
veseo 0 Report post Posted September 10, 2006 Yea, that explains why did they change the rules of that policy a few days ago
Downhome 0 Report post Posted September 10, 2006 Well, if this means that he jobs to Carlito a few times, I don't care if he remains on TV. Hell, I'd rather see him get jobbed out I think.

Black Lushus 0 Report post Posted September 10, 2006 he really should be fired...I hate to say it because I'm one of the few that actually likes the guy...but you can only get away with so much before soneone has to fire you!

Jesus. Why not just scrap the wellness program altogether? This crappy fine system won't work when most guys make plenty of money anyway. The only guy that can't afford to fail a test is Trevor Murdoch. Also, WWE still pushes huge guys with impressive physiques, so there's still an incentive to roid up. Man, their front office is stupid.
Lord of The Curry 0 Report post Posted September 10, 2006 The solution is obvious: Let the workers do all the drugs they want and claim innocence when they OD.
The Mountie 0 Report post Posted September 10, 2006 Simple solution - wellness suspensions kick in the day after PPVs. That way you tie up the loose ends and then get the guys off TV.
UZI Suicide 0 Report post Posted September 10, 2006 Just get rid of this guy already. He's totally worthless and it's just one fuck up after another with him.
2GOLD 0 Report post Posted September 10, 2006 The solution is obvious: Let the workers do all the drugs they want and claim innocence when they OD. Hey, if they are going to bring back the old gimmicks and angles then they might as well bring back the old policy as well.

AlaskanHero 0 Report post Posted September 10, 2006 Isn't this Orton's second or third violation? If so, shouldn't he be facing harsher penalties than just a 30 day suspention?
Hawk 34 0 Report post Posted September 11, 2006 Isn't this Orton's second or third violation? If so, shouldn't he be facing harsher penalties than just a 30 day suspention? This was his first failed drug test, the previous suspension was a behavior related suspension.
Guest Dangerous Donnie D Report post Posted September 11, 2006 Orton represents everything smart marks hate. He is the dude who fucked all the hot girls in high school and constantly punked them out on a regular basis. Now they get on the internet and talk shit about him, but in real life none of them would want anything to do with him. You are all really really pathetic. Guest Princess Leena Report post Posted September 11, 2006 Yeah but it's still 30 days without really getting paid, right? That alone is stupid. Depends on the situation. If Randall is told to keep his physique up, then it's worth it. For an example, look at Masters. He needs to look huge as possible to keep any semblance of a push, or just to remain employed. Even if he's caught 2-3 times a year, he's still making good money.

Most pro wrestlers are probably the guy who fucked all the hot girls in school. That has absolutely nothing to do with the fact that he's an untalented douchebag. Most pro wrestlers are probably the guy who fucked all the hot girls in school. That has absolutely nothing to do with the fact that he's an untalented douchebag. Pretty much. We don't dislike him because he's this generation's Shawn Michaels. We dislike him because he's this generation's Lex Luger instead. If he had the talent, nobody would complain. If Randall is told to keep his physique up, then it's worth it. Getting squashed by Hulk Hogan is great for a career! He definitely needs to watch himself though. He was basically kicked off Smackdown because he pissed off the lockerroom (notably Undertaker & JBL). If he keeps this up, he's going to find himself in the same situation as Angle. Guest Princess Leena Report post Posted September 11, 2006 You kids are talking like Randall is a horrible worker. He's had many good matches. He's hardly the worst worker in WWE. Getting squashed by Hulk Hogan is great for a career! There's a lot worse things he could be doing than working with Hogan at PPV's.
Insanity 0 Report post Posted September 11, 2006 I know Orton will be punished in some form for this, but jobbing to Carlito to Unforgiven? I just can't see that. Especially if he's going to be Hunter's next big feud before Wrestlemania still.
randomguy 0 Report post Posted September 11, 2006 His matches are boring and he keeps fucking up. He isn't really strong and powerful, he isn't technical, he isn't a high flyer, he's not a a guy that can engage the crowd. He's just boring. He's basically a weakling version of Masters. At least Masters can sell pretty well and make some goofy-looking facial expressions. Edit: And he keeps squandering any pushes he has been given. The WWE have invested a lot in him in and return he just keeps dropping the ball.
Masked Man of Mystery 0 Report post Posted September 11, 2006 Orton isn't a horrible wrestler, but he's not great either. He's very stupid to keep getting himself in trouble, though
CheesalaIsGood 0 Report post Posted September 11, 2006 Well this might not have an impact on Orton right away with their plans for him pretty much set in stone. Overall this could hurt his career long term because he may not get to work big money matches like the one with Hogan anymore. Then again if this really is a paper tiger, then he will just cope with the money loss and keep his push. If Ortons push is decreased over the next few months it will be a telling sign if the WWE is really sincere about "wellness".

He's a good athlete and an above average worker. In my opinion, Orton is a lot more charismatic than someone like Masters, but WWE make him do stuff that doesn't show this, for exame that Orton Knows Best shit they came up with... how is anyone gonna get over with such garbage?
