New ANIMATED Smackdown intro video

When Smackdown! debuts on CW, it will have a new intro video and it's comepletly animated. The WWE has the best production team. They have only gotten better since David Sahadi has left. Here is the article

I don't know. I think I'll reserve judgement until we see what it's like. This doesn't fill me with confidence.

Clearly the only way to go next is an anime cartoon in the style of Dragonball Z where all the guys just yell alot and say the stupidest things you've ever heard while each of the women have huge over the top breast sizes and wear skimpy clothing. You know, the complete opposite of the WWE.

I actually like the Drowning Pool song they've been using. The animated one may be a neat novelty for a couple of weeks.

 

I really hope they get a new set soon. Seriously, the big fist is a pain in the ass to look at, something I've felt since it first debuted in 2001.

That was the best show music EVAR! Smackdown's black and white intro with the rap theme was AWESOME! I was pumped everytime that intro aired.

I like the one with the lazer lights behind the wrestlers that was used briefly after wrestlemania 20, wiht the same theme song.

The Beautiful People intro was slightly better but I liked the B&W intro too.

Well, I lost some hope when reading the article and it said the guy responsible for this new intro was also the one who did the "animation" for Finlay's titantron video. My thought was "you mean the still shot of the leprecaun?"

 

So hopefully these images will actually move...

I'm willing to give this new intro a chance. The intros as of late I do not like, but hopefully things will turn around for this one. It is good to see that they are trying and not getting complacent. I say though just shill out the money and get some ACDC or other hard rock/metal music for an intro. Wrestling is an adrenaline rush. We need a likewise intro.

I don't even consider that intro "animated". It was just a typical intro video with a few animated/3D rendered images thrown (and sparingly at that)

I caught a little bit of the Smackdown show last night but I unfortunately missed the intro of it. What's the general consenus of it?

There is a video up at WWE.com of the new intro. I love it. Although there was not much animation, it looked good enough. I think the song they are using is the best in the entire SD! run.

I think it is awesome. Like I said previously, 1000x better than their last video, which was just plain HORRIBLE.

Try NO animation. Animation implys some motion. These are video clips that pause and then have a drawn image overlaid on top of them. Talk about a pathetic video.
