LaParkaMarka 0 Report post Posted October 24, 2006 I thought the Wild alternate "Merry Christmas" jersey was pretty bad. Worse than the current Sabres one.
starvenger 0 Report post Posted October 24, 2006 Personally I'm not as offended by fugly third sweaters, but let's see... Minny: Buffalo: Love the throwback sweater there. Forgot about the Isles: Canucks: Again, I love the throwback sweater.
Guest Report post Posted October 25, 2006 The only ugly Kings jersey ever was the 3rd from 95-96. I liked the red Wild one.
fairtoflair7 0 Report post Posted October 25, 2006 Anyone get the memo yet that Mr. Malkin is kinda good? Made Brodeur look like a rookie..Jeez
CanadianChris 0 Report post Posted October 25, 2006 Yeah, that was an awesome goal. With Crosby and Malkin together, the Pens really look like they could make the playoffs this year.
KGB 0 Report post Posted October 25, 2006 not false Semantics. They've lost twice. Buffalo is two wins away from erasing the Leafs from the record books. Three of their wins came in shootouts. Asterisk, plz.

And the guy at Avondale snickered at me when I picked Pittsburgh by two on Pro-Line last night. Im deliberately waiting until he's working again to cash my winning ticket. the max 0 Report post Posted October 25, 2006 As expected with two pretty good defensemen out, the Bruins have called up Matt Lashoff, their 2005 first round draft pick. He'll make his NHL debut against the Habs tomorrow night. With the defense being banged up, and featuring Brookbank, Dempsey, Jurcina, Mara, Chara and York, I expect Lashoff to take Brookbank's place on the blueline and put Brookbank at wing. starvenger 0 Report post Posted October 26, 2006 Not even an asterisk. I don't think the record counts. And I hate the stupid Leafs. It comes from living in Buffalo, I think. If I lived in Buffalo, Ottawa or Montreal and had to periodically deal with rowdy Leaf fans I'd probably hate them too. Luckily I live in the GTA and with Domi gone I'm happy now... KGB 0 Report post Posted October 26, 2006 Yep, there is a fair share of rowdy and really stupid Leaf fans. That's why I post at places like this instead of Leafs messageboards, which I guess could be compared to a messageboard for New York Yankee fans.
Guest Princess Leena Report post Posted October 26, 2006 Leafs fans are bad. Actually, it was all Canadians who came down here for US events. All annoying as hell. And they love to destroy property in their drunkenness. Then again, Torontoites probably had to get drunk to even come near Buffalo.

And they love to destroy property in their drunkenness. Then again, Torontoites probably had to get drunk to even come near Buffalo. Considering that they have to go through Fort Erie to get to downtown Buffalo, I'd say that's a given. True story - a friend of mine got a job in Buffalo. He was gonna live in Fort Erie and do the cross-border thing every day (this was pre-9/11), but took one look at Fort Erie and decided that Buffalo was a much better place to stay. In other news, The 2-8 Coyotes' got a sponsor for the Glendale Arena. Perhaps appropriately, it's now called the Jobing.com Arena
CanadianChris 0 Report post Posted October 26, 2006 Round 4 of the Battle of Ontario goes tonight. I'm starting to dislike the new NHL schedule. I find myself getting tired of seeing the Leafs all the time. I'll probably start feeling that way about the Habs, Bruins and Sabres by the time the season's over. Eight games against everyone in your division just seems like too many.
Lightning Flik 0 Report post Posted October 26, 2006 Its set up that way because many felt that playing an slightly unbalanced schedule but playing everyone was not the way to go. And the Oilers laid down for the Ducks last night pretty much. Bad game by us, and I'm just hoping that we don't suddenly stumble because of it.
CanadianChris 0 Report post Posted October 26, 2006 Its set up that way because many felt that playing an slightly unbalanced schedule but playing everyone was not the way to go. I realize that...I just don't necessarily think playing nearly half your schedule against only four teams is the answer.
Guest Felonies! Report post Posted October 26, 2006 I'd endorse six games against divisional rivals if so many division rivalries haven't been fucked up. Blackhawks-Predators six times? Screw that.

Guest Princess Leena Report post Posted October 26, 2006 Sabres probably lose to the Islanders tonight. Just got that feeling. I wish I could watch some of these games since I don't get Versus or any of the Canuck channels.
HarleyQuinn 0 Report post Posted October 26, 2006 Tonight is GAME 1 between the Bruins and Canadians... Go Bruins Go! And as usual I get to follow the game on the internet thanks to work... damn scheduling.

I wish I could watch some of these games since I don't get Versus or any of the Canuck channels. I have a friend in Atlanta that sells Bell ExpressVu, so I'm sure there are people in the Phoenix area that do the same. Of course, I realize that this doesn't help you right now, but it might be worth looking into.

CanadianChris 0 Report post Posted October 27, 2006 Yeah, the Sens might be back. After scoring only 11 goals in their first five games, they've scored TWENTY goals in their last eight PERIODS. Five goals in the second period tonight, along with five posts. I think they've figured out where the net is. Heatley has a hat trick. I wish the Ottawa fans would actually throw some hats on the ice.
HarleyQuinn 0 Report post Posted October 27, 2006 Martin St. Louis scored a hat trick in the 2nd period in the span of less than 7 minutes including 1 unassisted goal just 1:45 after his 2nd goal... now that's nice.
CanadianGuitarist 0 Report post Posted October 27, 2006 *Has 20 dollars a piece through his bookie on Tampa and Ottawa. I heart gambling. Conversely, I dislike Buffalo. It's a longstanding Mullen/Collins (my ancestry) character trait that can't quite be explained. As such, the 10-0 doesn't sit well, especially with 80% of those being Leaf fans. As CC touched on, its geting ugly at ScotiaBank, even worse after the Leafs had a comeback going for a while. Kilger and Tucker already made the shitlist Tuesday, I'm thinking Belak will melt down a little at some point tonight....calling Patrick Eaves an idiot before the game starts doesn't start off on the right foot. It was pretty entertaining to see Ray Emery respectfully calll Belak an idiot on Sportscentre today.
CanadianChris 0 Report post Posted October 27, 2006 I thought Belak was calling Neil and McGrattan idiots. No matter, it was still funny to see Emery's response. Spezza's goal was just sick. He faked out Raycroft, then wired it from the goal line into the top corner. Looks like Buffalo's going to tie the record. They've got a 3-0 lead on the Islanders in the third. He faked out Raycroft, then wired it from the goal line into the top corner. Looks like Buffalo's going to tie the record. They've got a 3-0 lead on the Islanders in the third. Definitely Neil. The second might have been McGrattan. Either way, he's got way too many stones in his living room. Spezza indeed had a sick goal.Spezza notwithstandig, I;m thrilled over Heatley's hat trick. I'm sure I mentioned it dozens of times last season, but I wrote a piece for my paper in college defending Heatley, and this only confirms what I wrote and am still pretty proud of three years ago. So, I had considered a poll: "Who's weirder to see on TSN out of Cuthbert, Dreger or Williams?" Instead, "Best-spoken black goalie out of Weekes or Emery?" EDIT: Anyone ever recall a post-game with Fred Braithwaite? Also, check out Bill Berg on the NHL network (also on TSN outside of Leafs Region tonight) pleading for an asterisk on the Sabres' record-tying win tonight.
